One of the more interesting takes on the HM fly has to be the option to using Latios and Latias in Pokémon to soar in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. You can activate this feature after you defeat Team Aqua or Magma by playing the Eon Flute. Once the flute is played, one of the two legendaries will scoop you up and soar over the region.

The creators of Pokémon must have a real problem with fathers. In the Pokémon anime, we have yet to see Ash’s father . We did not see Red’s father in Pokémon Origins. Throughout all of the Pokémon titles, only one protagonist has had a father that appears in-game. In Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire, the main character is the son or daughter of Norman, the Petalburg City Gym Leader.

In Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire, your whole family actually comes from Johto. The reason you move to Hoenn is so that Norman can take up the role of Gym Leader. Despite the fact that you are his child, he won’t go easy on you. As the player, you cannot tackle Norman’s Gym until you have acquired at least four other badges. Norman uses Normal-type Pokémon in battle. Much like the only other Normal-type Gym Leader who existed in the series up to that point , Norman is very difficult to defeat.

Since Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire , we have yet to see the father of any of the other Pokémon protagonists.

Gold Silver & Crystal

The third adventure is based on the Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal versions of the game. It features the protagonists Gold, Silver and Crystal, and is centered mostly around the Johto region, with Gold as the point of view character. Gold first started his journey to chase a thief that broke into Professor Elms lab, and stole a Totodile. Gold then made it his mission to get Totodile back from Silver , and follows Silver. In Golds quest to steal back Totodile, he decided to become fully involved in Silvers life. But following him gets him wrapped up in Neo Team Rocket , and Gold tries to stop them. In a shocking reveal, it turns out one of the gym leaders is the Neo Team Rockets leader, the Ice type gym leader, Pryce. He was also the Mask of Ice, a mysterious man who kidnapped Silver and Green as children. The Johto Trio then stop both Neo Rocket and the Mask of Ice in a dramatic final battle to end off the chapter.

These versions were the first installments in the Pokémon series third generation.

Update : Youll need to be a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber to access trading. If youre all set on that front, navigate to main menu and chose Communicate. Hit Play With Others. From there, youll have the option to play locally or faraway. Choose whichever is applicable, then select the trade option.

A menu will pop up, prompting you to enter a combination of Pokémon. If youre communicating with someone specific, make sure youre picking the same Pokémon! Double check to ensure that who youre trading with is the person you think it is , and from there, pick and send off your desired Pokémon.

You Couldn’t Catch ’em All

When the Pokémon anime series debuted in 1998, it hit the audience with one of the greatest advertising slogans of all time – “Gotta catch ’em all”.

Catching all of the Pokémon was a big part of the promotional material for the Pokémon animated show and video games. It was the name of the theme tune and it was repeated numerous times throughout the PokéRap. “Gotta catch ’em all” became the rallying cry of a generation of children. It was even parodied on South Park.

When Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire were released, the “Gotta catch ’em all” logo was missing from the box. The catchphrase was dropped from this point on. The reason for this was most likely because catching them all was no longer possible. Due to the fact that you couldn’t trade with the older games, it was now impossible for you to catch all of the Kanto/Johto Pokémon in Hoenn . There was also the issue of almost 400 Pokémon existing in the games by then .

While “Gotta catch ’em all” is no longer used as a catchphrase for the games, it does appear in the videos released on the official Pokémon YouTube channel.

A new region in a Pokemon game means a whole new population of Pokemon to catch, befriend, and battle. Before they make their debut, the design of these critters are one of Nintendos most closely held secrets. There are always alleged leaks of design documents detailing the next gens starters. These are fake, but surprisingly not too far off the mark. Earlier in the week before the announcement of Pokemon Sword and Shield, supposed sketches of Generation 8s three starters were posted on Reddit.

The real starters and their official designs were brought to life in the Nintendo Direct announcement trailer. Like the illegitimate leak, trainers met a fire type rabbit and a grass type monkey, but the official water type starter for gen 8 is a lizard rather than a platypus. We first got to met fire-footed Scorbunny, a Rabbit Pokémon that is always running about, bursting with energy. Then we saw shy Sobble, a somewhat timid Water Lizard Pokémon that shoots out attacks as it hides itself in the water. And finally Grookey, a mischievous Chimp Pokémon that is full of boundless curiosity.

As usual, theyre all adorable. These three new Pokemon will be hard to choose between. This difficult decision might later be made easier when we see what kind of super-powered bruisers these three cuties evolve into, but for now we wanna catch em all.

I bought the second game after I skipped the first game since I had Yo-kai Watch Wibble Wobble . I used YouTube to help what to go next as I did with Pokémon Y. Sun and Moon started as a sneak peek which later became a premiere on Disney XD but I refused to purchase Sun and Moon for the 3DS because of an art style change and the main protagonist attending school with his classmates none of which traveled with Ash, like in both real life and in fiction. And, so far, Suiren/Lana is the only female companion ever to wear pants, as opposed to the other female companions wearing either shorts or skirts who previously traveled with Ash .

The second main game in the series, was released in Japan on July 10, 2014 as two versions, Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls. Yo-kai Watch 2 expands the areas to be explored, with nearly 100 new Yo-kai in the present day of the Kemamoto region and the past, where the player time travels to meets traditional Yo-kai and sees their grandfather, who made the predecessor to the Yo-kai Watch. Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire is the second series of the Pokémon anime and is based on the events of the core seriesGeneration IIIPokémon games.
