Sky Dash in Pokémon: Lets Go is a useful technique that players can unlock that will allow them to use their Pokémon to fly around and fast travel to any town that they have previously unlocked on the map. Its a useful skill that players will want to pick up to be able to easily navigate the map, and well show you how to learn Sky Dash in Pokémon: Lets go

How To Get To The Power Plant

Before you can actually capture Zapdos, you must first reach the Power Plant where it is located. The Power Plant can be found at any point after you have discovered the Sky Dash and Sea Skim secret techniques. Sky Dash can be learned after defeating Team Rocket at the Game Corner while Sea Skim is taught by a man with a Lapras in Fushcia City.

Once your partner Pikachu or Eevee has those, head to Route 10. You are going to want to fly or travel to Cerulean City and head east from there on Route 9. This will take you straight to Route 10 where a Pokemon Center and the entrance to the Rock Tunnel is located. Along the eastern edge of Route 10 is a narrow waterway.

You are going to want to head north from the Pokemon Center past the grassy area and fence to the small entrance to the water. Have your partner use Sea Skim and follow the waterway until you reach the Power Plant entrance.

Super Smash Bros Series

Fly is Charizard‘s up special. It cloaks itself in fire as it rotates in the air while gaining height, damaging nearby enemies. It acts as a recovery move for returning to the stage.

Moltres’s Trophy states that it uses Fly when summoned from a Poké Ball. However, this instance of the move is much more similar to the flying action that a bird makes, rather than the actual move Fly.

The Smash Bros. DOJO!!, the official website for Super Smash Bros. Brawl states that Mew, Celebi, and Jirachi all use Fly when leaving the screen after being summoned from a Poké Ball, however, of the three, only Mew can learn it in the core series.

Kanto is a very diverse region, and there are certain areas that you can only get to on the water. The previous rideable Pokémon wont show up if you take them out while using the Secret Technique Sea Skim, which you pick up from a dude talking to his Lapras outside the Go Park complex). Instead, you have the option of two larger water-based Pokémon when you cruise the sea, both of which will not show up if youre traveling by land .

Pokemon Lets Go Fly Higher How To Do It

Bearing in mind you need a Charizard, Dragonite, or Aerodactyl for this to work you can actually fly higher than the typical floating animation. Flying higher allows you to soar over water, buildings, and other obstacles. You cant fly over barriers that are loading zones like the guard buildings surrounding Saffron City or over areas which dont really exist.

To get this ability you need to defeat the Elite Four. After the credits, youll appear back at home and be informed of your new ability to fly higher.

To use this ability, choose to have your big flying buddy as the one outside of its Pokeball. You should pretty quickly notice that youre much higher than usual. To stop flying youll need to put them back into their ball and move around until you can land and the change is registered.

Pokemon Lets Go Fly Higher Why Fly Higher

Aside from being able to zip around cities and avoid obstacles, flying on a ride Pokemon also gives you the ability to skip battles. Its especially useful for getting to locations like Cerulean Cave or Seafoam Islands with minimal fuss.

Perhaps one of the most important abilities that comes with flying higher, though, is the flying Pokemon battles you can get into.

While up in the sky you can encounter all sorts of typically powerful flying Pokemon. Better yet you may even get a second shot of encountering any of the three legendary birds, Zapdos, Moltress, or Articuno for a second time. If youre very patient you can even try chaining catches to get a Shiny legendary.

What Is Team Go Rocket Anyway

Based on the original antagonists of Pokémon, Team Rocket is an infamous criminal organization led by Giovanni. The group seeks to steal valuable Pokémon and force those Pokémon to further Giovanni’s endeavors. In Pokémon Go, the group is much of the same, known as Team GO Rocket. Basically, they’re the bad guys who’ve been missing from the game since day one.

Roughly once a month, you can complete a Special Research to take on their leader, Giovanni and potentially rescue a Legendary Shadow Pokémon from him. While these Special Research lines don’t expire, you can only complete one a month, even if you haven’t completed past months, so make sure to complete one every month so you don’t miss out on a chance at another Shadow Legendary Pokémon.

Mega Gyarados is a Water and Dark-type Pokemon, instead of Water and Flying like regular Gyarados. This still leaves it with a variety of weaknesses, albeit a handful of different ones. The Pokemons typing now means that Fairy, Electric, Fighting, Bug and Grass-type moves are all super effective against it.

Pokmon Lets Go Fly Replaced With Sky Dash

You may be expecting to use an HM to teach one of your pocket monsters Fly in Pokémon Lets Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon Lets Go, Eevee!, but, as with Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, these have been removed. Secret Techniques are their replacement special skills that your partner Pokémon can use outside of battle.

These can be used to clear away trees , glide across water or quickly revisit towns and cities that you have already explored .

These Secret Techniques work in the same way as the moves that Hidden Machines had taught like Cut, Surf and Fly but wont be available to you straight away once you start your adventure. Those looking out for Sky Dash will need to progress in the main storyline to the point after you have left the Rocket Hideout, where your partner Pokémon will be taught the Secret Technique in Celadon City.

Its worth pointing out that to learn these Secret Techniques you do not need to lose a move slot, as they cannot be used in battle.

How To Get Fly In Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu And Lets Go Eevee

Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Lets Go Eevee are meant to be HD re-imaginings of Pokemon Yellow, the classic Game Boy game that iterated on Pokemon Red and Blue that came before it. While Lets Go mostly stays true to the originals, there are some differences that make the adventure a little bit easier, like the removal of HMs for example. Heres what you need to know about getting Fly in Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee.

In past Pokemon games, you would have to receive HMs from NPCs and then teach those moves to one of your Pokemon in order to use them. So, in Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee, you wont find the HM Fly anywhere. Instead, youll get the secret technique called Sky Dash, which allows you to fast travel to places that youve previously been to.

To get Sky Dash, youll have to make it to Celadon City and complete the Team Rocket Hideout mission, which is part of the main story. Once you beat that section, leave the area and talk to the man right outside the Rocket Game Corner. Hell reward you with the Sky Dash move, allowing you to quickly travel back to any area youve visited before.

How To Learn Sky Dash The New Secret Technique To Replace Fly

Pokemon Lets Go How to Get Fly,Surf,Cut,Strength and Cut

The Fly secret technique Sky Dash is actually unlocked naturally throughout the course of Pokemon Let’s Go, though unlike some secret techniques it can also be easily missed as you work your way through the game. An NPC appears at a specific point in the story right in your path, but if you’re in a hurry you may dash straight on past him and miss out on this secret technique. You might also be looking at this page early to find out how soon you can get Fly – if so, be patient, tut tut! But really – here’s how it works.

Sky Dash is found around three Pokemon Gyms into Pokemon Let’s Go, after you’ve visited the Pokemon Tower in Lavender Town for the first time and found yourself turned away by a giant ghost. This will send you off towards Celadon City and the hidden Team Rocket HQ. Inside you’ll have to solve puzzles and defeat Team Rocket members including their leader, Giovanni.

Once you’ve done that, leave the Gaming Corner – the site of Team Rocket’s secret base – and you’ll now see a man sitting next to a weird machine that looks like a bicycle with balloons attached. It’s shown off in the screenshot above. This is actually his flying machine, and it’s this that Pikachu or Eevee will help you to pilot to fly around the map.

How To Get Down From Charizard In Pokemon Lets Go

As far as we know, the only way to dismount a flying pokemon is by returning them to the poke ball. There seems to be no way to dismount them and keep them active. This means youll have to open up the menu, select party, then choose the pokemon in question and press + to return them to the poke ball. Alternatively, you can selecvt another from your crew to take out of their poke ball and onto the field, which will return the active one to theirs.

This would mean theres no way to have a flying pokemon as an active traveling companion without riding it. Theres no way you could, say, walk along and have your Charizard fly behind you. If there is, in fact, a way to do this, we havent figured it out. If we do, well be sure to update the guide with the info on how to do it. If youve discovered another way yourself, please feel free to leave a comment and let us know. We have other guides for the game as well, and you should check them out if you have trouble with stuff like farming berries or raising pokemon.
