Can You Change Your Team In Pokemon Go

Change The Name And Style Of Pokmon Go: This Is How You Change Your Nickname Change Clothes And Change Your Appearance

Pokemon GO YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR TEAM! (How to Change Teams)

Pokémon Go is fundamentally a very social game, but it still lacks a few social features. This way, you cant talk to your friends in the game, and you only see a limited amount of information on their screen. Fortunately, you can always show your own identity to other trainers. In gyms and friend lists, your nickname and the appearance of your created character are displayed for everyone.

Fortunately, there are plenty of ways to change your name and how you look. Initially you have to figure out what your coach will look like when you start the match, but luckily that can change you. Additionally, Niantic also made it possible to switch Pokémon Go teams.

Basic Vs Premium Rewards In The Pokmon Go Battle League

For players who have the extra PokéCoins there is an option to earn better Rewards for winning Battles. At the beginning of each Pokémon Go Battle League Set, you can choose between Basic and Premium Rewards. These Rewards include Berries, Stardust, TMs, and Pokémon Encounters.

The Pokémon you can encounter do not change between Premium and Basic, but they do get better as you rank up. Your first encounters for certain Ranks are guaranteed. For Season Seven, the Pokémon reward encounters and some of the other rewards are inspired by Elesa, a trainer introduced in Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version:

  • Rank 1: Guaranteed encounter with Zebstrika.
  • Rank 1-9: Possible encounters with Poliwhirl, Flaaffy, Pupitar, or Galvantula.
  • Rank 10: Pikachu Libre avatar items.
  • Rank 10-15: Possible encounters with Medicham, Frillish, or Stunfisk.
  • Rank 15-20: Possible encounters with Scraggy, Lampent, Rufflet, or Shiny Rufflet.
  • Rank 19: An Elite Charged TM plus an Elite Fast TM as an end-of-season reward.
  • Rank 20-24: Encounter the Legendary Pokémon appearing in five-star raids at the time.
  • Ace Rank: Encounter with Deino.
  • Legend Rank: Encounter with Pikachu Libre. This will be the only time you’ll be able to encounter a Pikachu Libre during the season. You’ll also earn a pose and avatar items inspired by Elesa.
  • Catching Poliwhirl, Flaaffy, Pupitar, Medicham, Scraggy, Galvantula, Lampent, and Stunfisk in Battle League reward encounters will also earn you more Candy XL than normal.

Pokemon Go Teams Explained

Pokemon Go Guide: How to Change Teams

In Pokemon GO, teams are the allegiances you can join to get in-game bonuses. Theyre particularly important when it comes to gym battles: you can only place your Pokemon in a Gym belonging to your team, where theyll stay and defend it from rival trainers from other teams. Likewise, you can only fight a gym if your team doesnt already control it. If you take it on and win, you can claim that location for your team. Having a Pokemon in a gym will slowly accumulate coins then when it gets knocked out, you’ll receive them. You can earn a maximum of 50 coins per day.

There are also a few bonuses youll get if a location youre interacting with is under your teams control. If you spin a Gym thats currently owned by your team, youll get a few bonus items that rival team members wouldnt get. During raids, theres a team bonus too: if your team is controlling the gym where a raid is taking place, youll get extra balls to catch the Pokemon on offer if you manage to defeat it. Therefore, teams can be a crucial part of the games social mechanics.

How To Change Your Name In Pokmon Go

Each player must enter a unique nickname the first time they use Pokémon Go. While you can change it later, you should also be aware that you can only change it once. So think carefully before you do it!

About you nickname in Pokémon Go, go to the Settings screen , then scroll down until you see the option Change nickname .

The game will remind you at this point that you can only do this once, so think carefully.

Niantic allowed you to change your nickname, but then you had to contact the company yourself and submit a name change request. This was only allowed in exceptional circumstances, such as when you accidentally entered your real name or threw other personal data on the cards. The system is not yet perfect, but it is certainly more practical than that!

Why Would I Change Teams

The team you choose in Pokémon GO is important if you want to battle in Gyms. To successfully hold Gyms in Pokémon GO you need to have multiple people on the same team to supply Pokémon and to help keep them boosted throughout the day. If possible, everyone in your family should be the same team to maximize the chances of holding Gyms easily.

When we first started playing Pokémon GO there were no other players in my area so my family of three picked three different teams in order to control all of the Gyms nearby. As the game became more popular, however, that decision became an annoyance. My family couldn’t play together, we were always opposing each other.

Now we can finally be on the same team and use our levels to help each other complete tasks, conquer Gyms and be the very best!

Pokemon Go Finally Giving Players A Way To Change Teams

The Team Medallion goes on sale next week.

More than two years after the game launched, Pokemon Go will finally give players the option to change their teams. Niantic has announced a new item called the Team Medallion, which will go on sale in the in-game shop beginning February 26 and allow users to switch their allegiance to another team one time.

The Team Medallion will cost 1,000 PokeCoins, which makes it fairly pricey, as a bundle of 1,200 coins runs for $10 USD. There are a few caveats as to how it works as well. You can only purchase one Team Medallion every 365 days, so once you switch teams, you’ll be locked into your choice for the next year.

Shortly after players first begin Pokemon Go, they’re asked to join one of three teams: Mystic, Instinct, and Valor, which are represented by the Legendary birds Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, respectively. Up until now, however, your choice has been permanent, so if you’ve been itching to switch sides, this will be your first opportunity to do so.

The Team Medallion isn’t the only new feature Niantic is introducing in Pokemon Go the developer has also rolled out the recently announced Go Snapshot AR photo mode. This allows players to take photos of any Pokemon they have in storage and easily share them with friends and on social media.

How To Join A Team In Pokemon Go

Pokemon Go: How to Change Teams – (Pokemon Go Change Teams)

Unfortunately, if youve just downloaded Pokemon GO for the first time, you wont be able to join a team straight away. You can only pledge your allegiance to a certain team once you hit Level 5. Once youre there, all you need to do is tap a gym, as if you were going to fight it. Following this, youll be presented with three birds to choose from: one blue, one red, and one yellow. These represent the three different teams: Mystic, Valor, and Instinct, respectively. All you have to do is select the team you want, and youll be greeted by the Leader. Mystic is led by Blanche, Valor by Candela, and Instinct by Spark though none of them grant you any special bonuses.

If you plan on playing Pokemon GO alongside friends, then be sure to consult with them before choosing a team. If youre on rival teams, you wont be able to fight gyms with them though fear not, as youll still be able to partake in raids together.

You Can Finally Change Teams With A Team Medallion

Long ago when Pokemon GO first started everyone was forced to pick a team in order to interact with some of the games most important features. Gyms and later raids utilize the team system in different ways, and players were left to decide which of the games three teams to join after just a little while with the game. This led to a lot of people choosing poorly, either joining a team that isnt well represented in their area, or a different team than their friends. So that left many people wondering how to change teams and which team to pick in Pokemon GO.

Great Ultra Or Master League In The Pokmon Go Battle League

The Go Battle League is divided into three different Leagues: Great, Ultra, and Master League. These are set up the same as Trainer battles and Team Leader Training before with CP caps:

  • The Great allows for Pokémon up to 1,500 CP and will run April 12-26. The Great League Remix runs concurrently but doesn’t allow the 10 most used Pokémon in the Great League.
  • The Ultra League allows for Pokémon up to 2,500 CP and will run April 26 through May 10.
  • The Master League has no CP limits and will run May 17-24.
  • All three Leagues will run from May 17-24.

Each League is featured separately before rotating to the next League. This means you can usually only participate in one League at a time, but you have the opportunity to participate in all three Leagues. However, all three leagues are also available during a final week, in which players can choose any league they wish to battle.

All Done But Be Warned

And that’s it, you are now a new team and you can finally work with others in your community to be the very best trainers you can be. Now to those caveats, we spoke about.

This is a very big deal. For a start, you have to have 1000 coins to get the medallion. That’s $10 worth of coins, so it’s not to be entered into lightly. Now you can get those coins from playing, of course, but if you need to buy some more coins through an in-app purchase, you can grab an iTunes card from Amazon. They oftentimes go on sale, which saves you a bit of money in the long run!

You can also only use the medallion once every 365 days. This is smart on Niantic’s part, as it stops people from switching teams on a whim or trying to maximize their gold intake from gyms. This way, you are faced with playing as your chosen team for a whole year before you can change back. It’s a significant choice to change teams and the consequences should reflect that.

Let us know in comments how you feel about the team changes. Is it a good thing? Do you think it’s too expensive?

Many players chose teams before speaking to friends and family members, which may have resulted in them being on different teams.

Concerns With Changing Teams

Upon the news of this upcoming new Team Medallion item, Pokemon Go trainers voiced their potential concerns. The main concern is the ability to change your team will result in a lot of trainers changing to the same team. This could result in further domination of gyms by a particular team.

On the flip side, many have been frustrated that they were on opposite teams to close friends. This will of course resolve this issue and may create interest for dormant players to return.

It will be interesting to see how this dynamic plays out and how Niantic will react if one team takes a monopoly.

Battles In The Pokmon Go Battle League

Battles within the Go Battle League are set up the same way as Trainer Battles and Team Leader Training Battles. You select three Pokémon and will be matched up with another Trainer at random. The Battle begins with your first Pokémon against your opponent’s first Pokémon, and until a Pokémon is sent out, neither Trainer knows what the other has brought with them. If you’re lucky, the Pokémon you’ve chosen will have a Type advantage, or at least not be weak against the other Trainer’s choice. There are definitely some Pokémon better suited for these Battles than others, but there isn’t a single Pokémon that cannot be countered, so there’s a fair bit of luck involved in winning these matches.

To learn more about which Pokémon you should focus on for the Pokémon Go Battle League, see our Pokémon Go Battle League Prep Guide.

Like other Battles within Pokémon Go, you’ll mostly be using your Fast Move until you’ve built up your Charged Move, which will involve hitting several bubbles on the screen to determine how strong it hits. Each Trainer will have two Shields they can deploy against any Charged Move, but dodging isn’t really an option like it is in Raids. Whichever Trainer’s Pokémon faint first loses. The winner will move up in Rank, as well as get an increase to their Matchmaking Rating. The loser won’t lose Rank, but in higher Ranks, you can lose points in your Rating.
