When Is The Pokemon Dlc Coming Out

Pokemon Sword And Shield Crown Tundra Dlc Release Time

Pokémon DLC Presentation Coming Tomorrow! Crown Tundra Release Date Incoming?

There is no confirmed release time for the Crown Tundra DLC for Pokemon Sword and Shield. However, the DLC is planned to release on Thursday, October 22 in North America and Friday, October 23 in Europe and Japan. Because the release is split across two different dates, we can assume that the expansion will launch sometime in the evening in North America and early Friday morning in Europe and Asia. The games first DLC, the Isle of Armor, was released early in the morning on a Thursday in North America, so it appears that the Crown Tundra is launching at a different time for some reason.

Thankfully, we can use past releases that have followed a similar schedule to predict the release time for the Crown Tundra. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighters like Minecraft Steve typically follow the same split date launch schedule as this DLC, and those tend to drop in the late evening in North America. We can expect to see the new Pokemon DLC anytime between 5 PM 10 PM PT, with 10 PM PT being the absolute latest possible release time if Nintendos planned October 22 release date is to be believed. The Pokemon Home app is also undergoing scheduled maintenance from 4 PM PT 9 PM PT, and the DLC will likely become available for download shortly after the maintenance is over.

The Crown Tundra;DLC for Pokemon Sword and Shield will be released on Thursday, October 22. It is included with the Pokemon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass, which costs $29.99.

Pokemon Sword And Shield Expansions

Instead of a third version, Pokemon Sword and Shield has expansions. So far, we know of The Isle of Armor Expansion and The Crown Tundra Expansion. The page explains how the expansion pass works, how much it costs, release dates, and more information; and lists all expansions with a brief summary of what comes with each.

Sword And Shield Updates

Pokemon Sword and Shield has also introduced a few new updates to the base game.

Rillaboom, Cinderace and Inteleon will receive brand new Gigantamax forms that can be used in new locations.

Sword and Shield also plan to introduce three new features:

You will have an increased chance of running into Gigantamax:

  • Coalossol

A software update that goes live today will go live today.

When you receive it head to Wedgehurst station where you will be Klara or Avery . You’ll then be able to encounter a Galarian Slowpoke, which you can catch.

You can then evolve with a specific item. It will evolve into Galarian Slowbro on the Isle of Armor and Galarian Slowking in The Crown Tundra.

Players can also now access the Nintendo eShop from the in-game menu. When you purchase the expansion pass you will gain access to a Pikachu and Eevee costume.

What Kind Of Gameplay Will Pokemon Sword And Shield: The Isle Of Armor Have

As with all Pokemon games, you’ll be given free rein in Pokemon Sword and Shield: The Isle of Armor to explore, capture, and battle Pokemon in Wild Areas. The storyline, as seen in the trailer, has you leveling Kubfu as you train at Mustard’s dojo. You’ll eventually challenge either the Tower of Darkness or Tower of Waters to determine how Kubfu evolves into an Urshifu with Single Strike Style or Rapid Strike Style. You also have a rival: Klara, a Poison-type trainer for Sword players, or Avery, a;Psychic-type trainer for Shield players.

If these details have you interested in purchasing the DLC now, you can get the Expansion Pass at the Nintendo Switch eShop for $30. You’ll be paying for both The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra at the same time, but don’t forget that different versions exist for Shield and Sword so choose the game you own.

When Is The Isle Of Armor Release Date

Pokemon Sword and Shield’s expansion pass will launch on the 17th June 2020.

The expansion pass will launch with The Isle of Armor and The Crown Tundra will arrive later in Autumn 2020.

Most legendary Pokemon that are available in The Crown Tundra will be obtained through co-op play.

Kubfu/Urshifu

In the Isle of Armor, your new mentor Mustard will intrust Kubfu to you. Kubfu is a fighting type Pokemon that evolves into Urshifu.

Once you have Kubfu, you will take on the Towers of Two Fists. You will enter either the Tower of Darkness or the Tower of Water .

Kubfu must face this challenge alone and once it has conquered one, it will evolve into Urshifu.

Urshifu has two distinct styles and will learn one depending on which tower you take on:

Expanding The Galar Region

A new region is always an exciting thing for;Pokemon;players. New regions come with scores of new Pokemon and a whole new environment to explore, often built around themes and aesthetics unique to that region. Although the Galar region’s reflection on the United Kingdom was yet another fun concept for a region, its reputation was marred by one of Nintendo’s design choices. Only 400 Pokemon appear in the region’s base Pokedex. Considering that there’s over 800 total Pokemon known so far, fans were outraged. In a series of games where a huge part of the gameplay’s conceit is collecting every Pokemon possible, it seemed counterintuitive that only some Pokemon would appear in Galar.

It seems Nintendo was sensitive to that frustration in the long run, because arguably one of the best parts of the;Isle of Armor;and;Crown Tundra;DLCs was that both of them reintroduced Pokemon to Galar.;Nintendo hasn’t gone all the way to filling the Pokedex back in, but making it partly possible indicates that Nintendo is interested in it. That makes it seem feasible that Nintendo will add more;Sword;and;Shield;DLCs in the future. Both it and its fans have a lot to gain that way.

What Is The Crown Tundra

The Crown Tundra is the second DLC from the Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion.

The second expansion for Sword and Shield appears to revolve around the theme of ‘Exploration’.

Based in the snow-swept realm of the Crown Tundra, you’ll explore a snowy and mountainous region.

Once again you will find new Pokemon, temples and strange environments.

You’ll be appointed the leader of their exploration team, so gear up and head out on a new adventure!

The expansion will feature open and seamless gameplay, much like the wild area, allowing players to roam around freely and control the camera; Max raid battles will also return.

Does Pokemon Sword And Shield: The Isle Of Armor Have A Release Date

Nintendo has said the DLC will be out by the end of , but no exact date has been announced. There are rumblings that the long-awaited expansion pack is about to be delayed;thanks to COVID-19. Like everyone else, Nintendo employees are working from home, and industry watchers say the lack of a set release date could mean the development team at Game Freak is having trouble completing the project.

With so much expected of this downloadable content pack, an additional delay isn’t going to make anyone happy. It’s also possible that even if The Isle of Armor makes its window, its follow-up,;The Crown Tundra, will be postponed from its fall 2020 release date.;Either way, it sounds like The Crown;Tundra, which was presumably less far along in development, may be more affected by the coronavirus shutdowns.

Not all hope is lost, however. The fact that Nintendo has already started the countdown through some in-game giveaways could be a sign it’s expecting to meet the deadline.

Crown Tundra Release Date And Time

Pokémon Sword and Shield is one of the best Nintendo Switch games out there. Previously, Nintendo announced that the Crown Tundra section of the Expansion Pass would release on Oct. 22. However, it didn’t release until later Thursday evening. This was upsetting for many people who were expecting to be able to play the Crown Tundra part of the DLC that morning.

The only clue we had for what time the second part of the DLC would drop actually came from Pokémon Home. Pokémon Home was scheduled for maintenance between Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. ET and Oct. 23 at 12 a.m. ET. It stood to reason that this update allowed players to trade and transfer Pokémon found in the Crown Tundra. As such, we assumed the Crown Tundra would release sometime during that scheduled maintenance. Turns out this guess was correct and many of us had to wait until Thursday evening to start playing.

Another report on Nintendos support website reveals that the Pokémon Home app;will receive an update between 19:00 ET on October 22 and 00:00 midnight ET on October 23. This update will likely bring the much-anticipated functionality which will allow the app to transfer the Pokémons between the Pokémon GO and Pokémon Sword and Shield video games.

How Much Does The Pokmon Sword And Shield Expansion Pass Cost

Parts 1 and 2 of the Expansion Pass are purchased together for £26.99 / $29.99.

Keep in mind that you’ll need to purchase the corresponding pass according to which copy of the game you own. If you own both games and want to access the new areas in both, that means buying both the Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass and the Pokémon Shield Expansion pass.

The safest way to ensure you get the correct one is to buy it through the in-game menus while playing your copy, but be careful to purchase the correct Expansion if you’re getting it through the eShop directly – Nintendo doesn’t appear to be issuing refunds if you buy the wrong one.

Those who pre-purchased before the Pass arrived received an early purchase bonus of a Pikachu uniform and an Eevee uniform . If you bought the Expansion Pass before 31st August you could receive Leon’s outfit as a bonus.

The Nintendo UK Official Store has a deal on the Expansion Pass which includes a 50% discount on starter Pokémon soft toys or a starter mug if you purchase them at the same time.

Over 100 Returning Pokemon In The Crown Tundra

In The Crown Tundra DLC, over 100 Pokemon from previous generations reappear, including all Legendaries from previous games which were previously uncatchable in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Combined with the new entries from The Isle of Armor DLC, players can look forward to meeting over 200 of their old favorites again. See the full list that has been revealed so far!

Why A Cancellation Could Be Good

There’s still potential positives to the cancellation of a third;Sword and;Shield DLC. Even though;Isle of Armor and;The Crown Tundra;were hits, it’s possible that Nintendo isn’t satisfied with its work. It may be looking back on the reception of these games and concluding that it would be better off not putting all of its chips on;Sword and;Shield.;Scrapping the last DLC would suggest a greater emphasis on making other;Pokemon;projects live up to expectations. Although a third DLC would have done a lot for;Sword and;Shield,;Pokemon Legends: Arceus and other new projects might do more for;Pokemon;as a whole.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus isn’t the only new game that could be coming out of dropping the last DLC. Nintendo might have realized that, the longer it supports the current;Pokemon;games with DLC, the longer it is before a new generation can come around. Nintendo might be itching to move on and plan a bold new generation of;Pokemon games for the speculated Nintendo Switch Pro.;Pokemon might have an easier time getting its footing back as a franchise in a new generation, rather than through Nintendo trying to patch up the current region.
