What Is The Strongest Eevee Evolution In Pokemon Go

Q: Which Generation Is Eevee From

Top 5 STRONGEST Eeveelutions in Pokemon!

Eevee is a member of the very first generation of Pokémon. When the first-ever Pokémon games hit North American shores in 1998, Eevee was one of the original 151 Pokémon. Pokémon Blue and Red became an instant hit and a global phenomenon. The widespread adoration for the games was largely due to the excellent Pokémon design. Eevee was known as one of the cutest Pokémon in the game. In addition, Eevee was known as quite a special Pokémon seeing as there is only one per game. Eevee is unique in that it has the most evolutions in the game. In generation one, players could choose to evolve their Eevee into one of Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon.

How To Evolve Into Espeon And Umbreon

The first time you want to get your hands on Espeon and Umbreon, you can use the name trick detailed above. Evolve an Eeevee called Tamao to get an Umbreon, or an Eevee named Sakura to evolve it into Espeon. After that, you’ll need to evolve them the old-fashioned way, by completing certain goals.

For Espeon and Umbreon, you can also evolve into them based on their in-game method of evolution in Pokemon Gold and Silver back on the Game Boy – based on the time of day. In order to do this, you’ll first need to build a relationship with your Eevee. Set them as your buddy Pokemon and walk with them as much as you can.

Once you’ve walked 10km with that Eevee as your buddy Pokemon, it’s ready to evolve into either Epseon or Umbreon. Just evolve in the day for Espeon and night for Umbreon – and this isn’t limited, you can do it as often as you like!

How To Evolve Eevee Into Vaporeon Jolteon And Flareon

Well get the bad news out of the way first; for these three originals, after youve used the nickname trick, were afraid there isnt really much more you can do to guarantee them.

In order to get any more, youll have to revert to random evolutions by gathering Eevees and candies and keeping your fingers crossed that when it evolves youll get what youre looking for.

How To Evolve Multiple Umbreons And Espeons

A second method of evolving Eevee into Umbreon and Espeon exists, and it’s surprisingly easy. Simply make Eevee your buddy Pokémon and walk 10km. You can then evolve your Eevee at night to unlock Umbreon, or during the day for Espeon. You can easily tell if it’s day or night by looking at the colour of your map or listening to the game’s music, but ensure that you have good signal before evolving – the game needs to know the time of day in your exact location and if your signal drops at the wrong moment, you’ll get a Vaporeon, Jolteon or Flareon no matter how far you’ve walked.

Without the naming trick, the ways to get the Eevee evolution you want are a bit more complex. Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon all evolve randomly when you evolve an Eevee. You need to walk with Umbreon and Espeon as your buddy Pokémon for 10 kilometers, and then evolved them during the night and day, respectively. You can only obtain Leafeon and Glaceon when theyre evolved near a Mossy or Glacial Lure, respectively. Sylveon normally requires earning 70 hearts as your buddy Pokémon, but this number has been reduced to 7 for the event.

How To Rename Eevee To Evolve Into Sylveon Leafeon Glaceon Umbreon Espeon Vaporeon Jolteon And Flareon

Evolving Eevee using the required 25 Eevee candy will produce a random evolution. However, you can control which type it turns into by renaming the monster beforehand:

  • Rename “Kira” to evolve into Fairy-type Sylveon
  • Rename “Linnea” to evolve into Grass-type Leafeon
  • Rename “Rea” to evolve into Ice-type Glaceon
  • Rename “Sakura” to evolve into Psychic-type Espeon
  • Rename “Tamao” to evolve into Dark-type Umbreon
  • Rename “Rainer” to evolve into Water-type Vaporeon
  • Rename “Sparky” to evolve into Electric-type Jolteon
  • Rename “Pyro” to evolve into Fire-type Flareon

There are some caveats here. This only works one time per evolution, so if you plan to use your Eeveelution in battle, make sure you’ve chosen an Eevee with favourable stats. The naming trick is currently the only guaranteed way to evolve Vaporeon, Jolteon or Flareon – once you’ve done it once, it’ll be up to random chance if you get another, regardless of what you’ve named it.

There are tricks to reliably evolving the other Eevee varieties more than once, though…

What Is The Rarest Shiny Eeveelution

There is no way to tell what the rarity of different Eeveelutions are but Sylveon is likely the rarest at the moment simply because it is the newest with Leafeon and Glaceon being next. Even if it isnt the rarest, shiny Sylveon is arguably the most eye-catching with its transformation from pink to baby blue.

Umbreon and Vaporeon are also great shinies, with Umbreons yellow rings turning neon blue and Vaporeon going from blue to purple. Many of the other Eeveelutions have underwhelming shiny transformations and some barely look any different from their normal versions.

How To Get Sylveon In Pokemon Go

Sylveon, the most recent addition to the Eeveelutions, and the method to obtaining it is a bit tedious but totally worth it. Trainers can check out our Pokemon Go Sylveon guide for more in-depth details, but the gist to getting Sylveon is through the friendship meter in Pokemon Go.

Trainers need to make Eevee their buddy and earn 70 hearts with it. Again, this will take a while, but as long as trainers can maximize the amount of hearts earned each day they will eventually get to that mark. Trainers will know they received the right amount of hearts when the silhouette in the evolution area of Eevees in-game information screen shows Sylveon.

What Does Shiny Eevee Look Like In Pokmon Go

Community Days in Pokémon Go are, due to the increased spawn rate, the perfect opportunity to hunt down the shiny version of a Pokémon.

You’re far more likely to find a shiny version of the highlighted Pokémon on its Community Day – not only because the shiny rate will be higher, but catching more of the same type increases the likelihood of finding one too.

It’s easy to tell when you’ve found a shiny Pokemon because the encounter will begin with a flurry of stars, a ‘shiny’ icon will appear next to its name, and its colouring will be different.

Shiny Eevee isn’t new to the game – we’ve had an Eevee Community Day before, back in August 2018 – so chances are you’ve already seen these on your travels, or even got a few shinies yourself. But here’s a preview of all the shiny Eevees you can collect:

Thanks to for the shiny Sylveon image above.

If you want to evolve a shiny Eevee and use that evolution for competitive reasons, we recommend waiting until the tailend of the Community Day to ensure you have one with the best IVs. You discover which is the best Eevee by searching your Pokémon collection using 3* and 4*.

Don’t forget – you have until 10am PDT / 6pm BST on Monday to earn the exclusive move via evolution. After that, you’ll have to use an Elite Charged TM.

How To Evolve Using Nicknames To Guarantee Your Choice Of Eevee Evolution

If you evolve an Eevee ‘raw’ by spending 25 candy, it’ll just evolve into one of the different available evolutions at random. However, you can actually force a specific evolution by renaming your Eevee of choice to a special nickname – and the whole thing began as an easter egg nod to a classic set of Eevee evolutions found in the Pokemon anime TV show.

So, basically, all you have to do is rename your Eevee to a specific name and then evolve it the regular way by spending 25 candy. Here are the names and the Eevee Evolutions:

Eevee Evolution
Kira Fairy

An important note about this little cheat: it only works once per Eevee Evolution. Once you’ve renamed one Eevee as Tamao to get Umbreon, for instance, you’ll only be able to get another Umbreon through ‘natural’ means – with that exact method depending on the eeveelution in question. This is why you should check your CP values and IV values before evolving an Eevee – make sure it’s a good one, as you only get one shot.

Pokemon Go: Eeveelution Base Stat Breakdown

Pokemon GO is a game of situational strategy in the sense that different Pokemon shine in different roles. Some Pokemon perform better on offense, some on defense, some in raids and some against other trainers’ Pokemon and others against Team GO Rocket’s teams. For the sake of this particular guide, the focus will be on dealing the most damage possible when on the offensive.

With regards to pure offense, Espeon has been considered a top attacker in Pokemon GO for some time. It doesn’t pack a punch like legendaries such as Mewtwo, Rayquaza, Reshiram, or Deoxys, but its abilities and base stats make it a strong Psychic-type Pokemon nonetheless. When compared to the base stats of other Eevee evolutions, Espeon currently sports the highest overall attack stat while also having solid defense and stamina stats. This can be broken down and compared to the base stats of the other Eeveelutions:

  • Flareon: 246 attack, 179 defense, 163 stamina
  • Vaporeon: 205 attack, 161 defense, 277 stamina
  • Jolteon: 232 attack, 182 defense, 163 stamina
  • Espeon: 261 attack, 175 defense, 163 stamina
  • Umbreon: 126 attack, 240 defense, 216 stamina
  • Glaceon: 238 attack, 205 defense, 163 stamina
  • Leafeon: 216 attack, 219 defense, 163 stamina
  • Sylveon: 203 attack, 205 defense, 216 stamina (

Note: These are based on early data, as Sylveon has only recently been introduced to Pokemon GO)

Eevee has multiple transformations, and you can capture many of them in Pokémon Go. Of course, how you go about evolving Eevee into those Pokémon varies. But if you break it down and think about it, which of these transformations is the best one?

  • Flareon
  • PvP: Max CP 3,029, attack 206, defense 153, stamina 140

  • How Do I Evolve Eevee With A Nickname

Eevee has eight different forms of evolution, which include Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon. After acquiring 25 candy, you can evolve Eevee into Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon at random.

But how do you take the random element out of it and, instead, force Eevee to take each of the individual forms? Well, its a simple process of changing Eevees name before you evolve them.

Its worth noting that this method only allows you to get each different evolution Eevee a single time. Once youve performed it on your account, you will no longer be able to get that particular form of Eevee using this method on that account.

Here are the different names youll need to use to get each different Pokémon Go Eevee evolution:

    • Vaporeon: Rainer
    • Glaceon: Rea
    • Sylveon: Kira

Make sure the silhouette of the evolution you want shows up on the evolve button, otherwise the nickname trick wont work.

Eevee Evolution Nicknames In Pokemon Go

Niantic guaranteed that players can evolve Eevee into the desired Eeveelution quickly and easily by adding a nickname to the Pokemon and then evolving it using 25 candies. This can be done to quickly fill out the Pokedex while avoiding the randomness or extra hoops associated with getting specific Eeveelutions. The list includes:

    • Jolteon Sparky
    • Leafeon Linnea
    • Sylveon Kira

Players ought to note that this can only be done once for each Eeveelution on a players account. If a player nicknames an Eevee Tamao, evolves it into a Umbreon, and tries to repeat the process, then the second Eevee named Tamao will evolve randomly into either Jolteon, Flareon, or Vaporeon.
