What Is The Strongest Pokeball

The Master Ball is the strongest Pokeball in the entire series as is guaranteed to catch any wild Pokemon without any need for attacking them, outside some glitches in early installments of the series. Past that, the Quick Ball, Dusk Ball, and Timer Ball all have a strong case for being the strongest Pokeball.

For the sake of comparison, an Ultra Ball has a catch rate of two. Quick Balls boast the highest catch rate outside the Master Ball at five, but only on the first turn of a wild encounter. Dusk Balls have a catch rate of three, but only at night or in a cave. Timer Balls start with a catch rate of one but add about 0.3 for each turn up to four at turn 10.

Each of these Pokeballs have their uses, and combined they should be more useful than just stocking up on Ultra Balls.

Repeat Balls In Pokemon Sword And Shield

These next Pokeballs won’t help trainers complete their Pokedex, but will come in handy once players have already completed it. The Repeat Ball is unique in the fact that it increases the odds of catching a Pokemon that trainers have already caught. If a trainer is looking for a Pokemon with a specific nature, ability, or gender and do not want to breed to find one, they can use the Repeat Ball to catch Pokemon they have already caught at a much higher chance of success.

The Repeat Ball increases the catch rate by 3.5x if the trainer has already caught one of that species of Pokemon. Otherwise, the Repeat Ball only has a 1x catch multiplier.

Repeat Balls can only be purchased from the Wyndon Pokecenter for 1,000 Pokedollars each.

When these two Pokémon breed, the chances of finding a Shiny Pokémon from their egg are hugely increased. When you have two Pokémon of different languages breed, the Egg has a 1 in 682.7 chance of producing a Shiny Pokémon. If you have the Shiny Charm we mentioned above, this gets reduced even further to 1 in 512.

What Is A Dusk Ball In Sword And Shield

As stated above, there are many different kinds of Poke Balls to find, buy, and use in Pokemon Sword and Shield. The Dusk Ball is a relatively rare Poke Ball that awards you with higher catch-chance rates in dark areas such as caves and at night. Essentially, it makes catching Pokemon at night or in dark areas such as caves easier. In such situations, the Dusk Ball is more powerful than an Ultra Ball, so it is definitely worth having more than a few to hand.

You should receive either a 3x or 3.5x catch rate multiplier when using a Dusk Ball either at night or in a dark area such as a cave. The Dusk Ball compares favorably to the Ultra Ball, too, as long as you use it at night or inside a cave. The Ultra Ball should give you a 2x catch rate multiplier compared to the standard Poke Ball. Use a Dusk Ball at any other time or location and its the same difference as using a standard Poke Ball, however. Even though they look cool, dont waste them!

Best Poke Ball For Breeding

The Repeat Ball is a good choice if you’re going for breeding, as you will be catching the same Pokemon over & over in hopes of getting the parent with best Stats.

Best Pokeball For Catching Shiny Pokemon

Repeat Ball is also the best Pokeball for capturing Shiny Pokemon as you’ll be grinding the same Pokemon species to get one to spawn.

Do Pokemon Sword And Shield Dusk Balls Get Catch Multiplier In Raids And Dens

HOW TO GET ALL Poke Ball Types in Wild Area in Pokémon Sword and Shield

If you want to dramatically improve your catching possibilities, you will want to use a Dusk Ball at night or in a dark area in Sword and Shield. Do Raids and Dens count as dark places just as caves do, however? Unfortunately, weve been unable to locate an official response to this question. Based on reports from other players online, however, its relatively safe to assume that you will receive the Dusk Ball catch rate multiplier bonus during a Raid or within a Den.

Dusk Balls should work in Raids and give you the same healthy catch rate boost as if you are catching a Pokemon at night or inside a cave. You should find, too, that catching Pokemon in Raids is easier for the most part, too. If you have any to spare, therefore, wed strongly recommend that you use your Dusk Balls in Raids as this should make catching Pokemon in Dens a lot easier.

Timer Balls In Pokemon Sword And Shield

Timer Balls can be incredibly useful when trying to catch a Pokemon of a high level or of a very low catch rate. The longer a battle goes on for the more effective a Timer Ball will be.

A Timer Ball’s catch rate multiplier increases as more turns pass in battle. After every turn, the multiplier increases until 10 turns pass. Once 10 turns have passed a Timer Ball has hit its max catch rate multiplier of 4x.

Timer Balls can be purchased from the Hammerlocke Pokecenter for 1,000 Pokedollars each or from Watt Traders in the Wild Area for 50 watts each.

Pokemon Sword and Shield is available on the Nintendo Switch.

Luxury Balls In Pokemon Sword And Shield

While the Luxury Ball can be helpful, they are also very pricey. Luxury Balls are luxurious homes for Pokemon that have the ability to make Pokemon friendlier faster. This is especially helpful when attempting to evolve Pokemon whos evolution requires max friendship such as Espeon, Umbreon, or Togepi.

But again, these Pokeballs aren’t cheap. Luxury Balls can be purchased from the Wyndon Pokecenter for 3,000 Pokedollars a ball.

While the Luxury Ball doubles the rate at which Pokemon grow friendlier towards trainers, it only has a 1x catch rate multiplier.

You can find Watt Traders squirreled away in the following parts of the Wild Areas: Hammerlocke Hills, in Giant’s Cap, in Bridge Field, in East Lake Axewell, Giant’s Seat, and the Dappled Grove

However, if you’re after certain balls in particular, you can rest assured that certain towns’ Poke Centers stock specific variants of Pokeballs. We’ve listed the towns below and also what special Pokeballs you can pick up from them:

  • Motostoke: Heal Ball, Nest Ball, Net Ball

Pokemon Sword And Shield: How To Get Infinite Master Balls

is the timer ball to overpowered in Pokemon Sword and Shield?

This guide will teach trainers how to obtain an infinite amount of Master Balls without hacks or cheats in Pokemon Sword and Shield

The main means of which a trainer catches Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield is through the use of a Pokeball. Pokeballs come in various forms each with their special abilities, but the best and most sought after Pokeball is the Master Ball. The Master Ball has a 100% catch rate of any Pokemon it is used on, which makes it the best Pokeball to use in situations where a Pokemon is incredibly hard to catch.

In past Pokemon games, trainers were only able to obtain one Master Ball per game. Pokemon Sword and Shield breaks that tradition by allowing players one chance per day to obtain additional Master Balls at very low odds through the Loto ID function. While the initial odds are low, this guide will help players drastically improve their odds of receiving infinite Master Balls from Loto-ID.

Quick Balls In Pokemon Sword And Shield

Now let’s get into some of the more interesting and valuable Pokeballs in Sword and Shield. One of the most useful and all-around best Pokeballs in Sword and Shield is the Quick Ball. This especially applies to those who are trying to complete their Pokedex quickly and do not want to deal with battling and catch all 400 Pokemon traditionally.

The Quick Ball is unique as it has a 5x catch rate multiplier if it is used at the first turn of the battle. If used any other time there is only a 1x catch rate. The Quick Ball can help players quickly widdle away the task of completing their Pokedex.

Quick Balls can be purchased from the Wyndon Pokecenter at a whopping 1,000 Pokedollars, or they can be purchased from Watt Traders in the Wild Area for only 50 watts. Watt traders cycle their inventories and some days none of them will offer Quick Balls so players should fill their inventories with these balls whenever they have the chance.

Where To Buy Dusk Balls Dive Balls And Timer Balls

Weve lumped these three together because they can all be bought in the same place. While you can get them in a few different places, such as the now iconic Ball Guy found at each citys gym, if you want more than the occasional handout youll need to head to Hammerlocke.

This industrial city is home to a special vendor who offers special types of Poke Balls. Specifically youll want to go to the Pokemon Center at the bottom and center of the town. Once inside head to the counter on the right and speak to the vendor on the far right. He will offer a few items you may want, but specifically this is where to buy Dusk Balls, Dive Balls, and Timer Balls in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

How Long Are Quick Balls Effective

Quick Balls are only effective on the first turn of a battle. After this, they have a catch rate identical to that of a regular Pokeball. Though there have been rumors and fan theories that Quick Balls have a drop-off, this is not true. This has been the case in every mainline Pokemon game since the Quick Balls introduction in Diamond and Pearl.

The lady who offers to show Pokedex entries for 100 Watts will apparently go on to sell you Apricorns for 100 W after you complete the Isle of Armor Pokedex. We were able to confirm this only on one file that has a full Pokedex completed, so we’re inclined to say that is the main condition for this, but we are not 100% sure.

How Effective Is Quick Ball

Quick Ball has a catch rate of five on the first turn of a battle, which allows it to catch most non-legendary Pokemon before they even have the chance to attack. For the sake of comparison, an Ultra Ball has a catch rate of two. The only drawback to using Quick Balls is that Quick Balls have a catch rate of one after the first turn, similar to that of a Pokeball.

This is a powerful tool for filling out the Pokedex because players can quickly and reliably catch Pokemon without having to False Swipe them down to low health. This is true at all stages of the game and the ability to purchase it relatively early on has actually detracted from the experience of playing certain Pokemon titles because it takes most of the difficulty away from catching wild Pokemon.

Thankfully, Pokemon Sword and Shield doesnt let players stock up on them easily until the very end of the main story.

Often Inherited From Female Pokemon

The type of Pokeball that the egg and the eventual Pokemon that will hatch from it are often taken from the female Pokemon parent. This is only different when both Pokemon are the same specie which will then be randomized.

Always Takes the Pokeball of Ditto’s Partner

In case of breeding using a Ditto, the egg will get the same Pokeball as the Pokemon partnered with Ditto. This is the same no matter the gender of the partner Pokemon. This also applied to Pokemon without gender.
