Did Ash Ever Become A Pokemon Master

Ash Trades Away His Friends

How do you become a Pokemon Master?

Thats right, if he isnt straight up leaving Pokémon behind, hes bartering them for others he likes more. The whole idea of trading Pokémon should disgust Ash, who claims that his personal bond with his beast-slaves are what make him an incredible trainer. But basically the minute he hears about trading, hes down. Not only is he down, he is down to trade his Butterfree, which evolved from the first Pokémon he ever caught, for a Raticate. This is like trading an heirloom ruby-encrusted bracelet for one of those Livestrong bracelets.

Ash realizes he made a bad deal and eventually manages to trade back. Youd think hed learned his lesson, but not only does he go on to trade several Pokémon in future episodes, he ends up releasing Butterfree not long after, because it has a crush on a pink Butterfree and Ash, even if he is evil, isnt a heartless monster. Butterfree love, man.

Ash Is Dangerously Ignorant

Lets go way back. Ash has wanted for his whole life to be a Pokémon master. When he finally comes of age and gets his first Pokémon, he gets into a scrape that immediately puts its life in severe danger, and doesnt even know that there are Pokémon centers to help. He doesnt even understand the basic mechanism of how fighting works: one Pokémon loses when it gets hurt. Meanwhile Pikachu is basically in a coma for the majority of their early time together.

Even after being taught about type advantages and how to battle , Ash continues to make the absolute wrong choice in most of his matches. He leaves his strongest Pokémon out of his lineup in his first tournament. He constantly overestimates his abilities and discounts any strategy whatsoever, which is probably why hes never won a tournament. Its a marvel none of his Pokémon have died, honestly.

Fans have taken to social media to congratulate Ash on this huge achievement!

One said “History moment right there” and another couldn’t hide their excitement with “ASH FINALLY DID IT GUYS!”

Veronica Taylor, the actress who voiced the original English version of Ash in the first eight seasons, also sent her congratulations. “Congratulations to Ash Ketchum on winning the Pokémon League from Ash’s ‘younger’ self, circa 1998…yup, hard work, determination, good friends, and a bit of luck pay off!” she tweeted Sunday.

Ash Ketchum Has Finally Become A Pokmon Master

For more than 20 years, Ash Ketchum has wanted to be the very best like no one ever was.

The Pokémon trainer has traveled across the land, searching far and wide, in an attempt to catch ’em all. But in all his years of training and battling, the forever ten-year-old has virtually always lost out to stronger trainers in Pokémon League tournaments, falling short of his dream of becoming a Pokémon Master.

Until now, that is.

In the latest episode of “Pokémon the Series: Sun and Moon,” Ash finally wins the championship competition of the Alola League, marking the first time the protagonist has won an official Pokémon League tournament.

Some fans on the interrnet were incredulous over Ash’s win, while others beamed with pride.

“Well damn… The kid finally did it,” one person on Twitter wrote.

“It took Ash Ketchum 20 years and countless series to win the Pokémon league but he finally did it. Never stop chasing your dreams! Never give up! Anything is posssiiiiible!!!!” another user said.

Others pointed out the significance of this moment by putting it up there with other famous events in sports.

“Which was bigger? LeBron coming back 3-1 against the Warriors or Ash Ketchum winning his first Pokemon league after a 22 year drought?” one person asked.

Even longtime Pokémon director and composer Junichi Masuda weighed in.

Ash Can Hold A Grudge

Do you think Ash will ever become a pokémon master?

Pallet Town is itty bitty. Its barely a village, and there are very few people who live there. Its so remote that we know that they havent ever produced a Pokémon trainer to crack the top 1000 on the continent. It is therefore no surprise that Ash finds a worthy rival in Gary, a boy his age who, as before, is a major jerk. Gary manages to be a much more efficient trainer than Ash and frequently offers him tips and tricks, like Hey maybe you should read a book. Could Gary be kinder to his struggling neighbor? Sure, but Ash sets his blind confidence against Garys educated swagger and keeps expecting to win on heart alone. Maybe Ash is the real reason Gary became a teacher, to make sure no more Ash Ketchums happen.

Will Ash Ever Become A Pokemon Master

Despite winning the Alola League Championships and becoming the region’s first-ever Champion, Ash does not consider himself a Pokémon Master. He is currently competing in the World Coronation Series — ranking in the Top 99 at the time of this article — in the hopes of challenging Leon, the reigning Monarch. Although, Ash himself has stated that winning this tournament would still only be a step toward becoming a Pokémon Master.

If becoming the strongest trainer in the world does not make him a Pokemon Master, what will? Ash does not actively seek to complete his Pokedex either, making it unclear what his goal actually is. The Pokémon Company itself declined to clarify what makes someone a Pokémon Master, opting to leave it up to interpretation. A term seldom used by anyone other than Ash, it’s possible that even he hasn’t decided what it means just yet.

The Problem With Evaluating Ash

In a vacuum, Ash looks like a chump next to any competitive Pokémon trainer. But after a deep examination of the differences between the games and the anime, its clear how unfair that comparison is.

After all, competitive Pokémon operates in an idealized version of the animes world. Trainers have access to any Pokémon at any time and can whip them into fighting shape mere hours after hatching. There is also a deeply interconnected community that regularly exchanges information about best practices based on a cumulatively staggering number of Pokémon battles.

Ash, on the other hand, only has access to the Pokémon around him as he goes on his adventure. He certainly doesnt have the time nor means to breed Pokémon in search of the perfect specimen. He can also forget about using legendary Pokémon, which real life trainers use all the time because of their generally superior strength. In Ashs world, there are only a handful of each legendary Pokémon, if that. Theyre not available for use.

Also, despite the prevalence of video phones and advanced technology in Ashs world, there doesnt seem to be anything equivalent to the internet. If there is, Ash certainly doesnt use it to bone up on the latest competitive Pokémon trends.

A Rising Master: Kalos And Alola

After taking a significant step back in Unova, Ash finally starts to take competitive battles seriously. For the first time in his career, the only unevolved Pokémon on his team during the Lumiose Conference is Pikachu. Otherwise, it is stacked with powerful choices like Talonflame, Hawlucha, Noivern, Goodra and Greninja.

The only flaw in Ashs team is a slight over-indexing on flying-types , but he has certainly made worse mistakes. He more than makes up for this by unlocking a powerful and unique transformation for his Greninja.

Because Ash advances all the way to the finals, many of the early rounds are shown off screen. The first full battle depicted, against Sawyer in the semifinals, is fairly competitive. Ash losing his fighting-type Hawlucha to a normal-type Slaking is a knock against him, but Sawyers strategy, which revolved around taking damage and returning twice as much, was sound.

Ashs most impressive feat in this match is the way he uses the battle arena. After realizing Sawyers Aegislash needs some time to prepare its defenses, Ash orders Pikachu to toss a piece of a chopped up tree at his opponent to disrupt that preparation. The disruption gives Pikachu the opening he needs to land a big Thunderbolt and remove one of Sawyers most dangerous threats.

Ash wears a blue vest with yellow outlines, a white undershirt with short sleeves and a red stripe, indigo shorts with black outlines, and black sneakers with blue highlights. He also wears a red hat with a black Poké Ball design formed into the letter C. During his second visit to Galar, he wears a Dynamax Band on his right wrist which he obtains from Leon. Also, Ash sometimes wear his Z-Power Ring on his left wrist or his Mega Glove whenever he is battling in an important match, especially World Coordination Series battles of the Ultra Class. During a visit to Kalos, Ash wears a Key Stone embedded to one of his gloves that resembled the ones he wore during his Unova and Kalos journies that he obtained from Korrina.

Ash’s sided spiky hair has increased a bit and are sharper like they were before, his eyebrows and his spiky hair tuft is larger than usually seen in previously. When he is not wearing his hat, his hair remains the same, only smoother and shorter. Ash’s two lighting bolt-like markings still remain slightly bigger like they were throughout the entire of the Sun and Moon Series. However, his eyes are a bit wider than they were before.

Gotta Win ’em All After More Than 20 Years Ash Ketchum Is Finally Being Considered A Pokemon Master

I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was!

When young Ash Ketchum first left Pallet Town in 1997 with a recalcitrant Pikachu from Professor Oak at his side, he had one goal on his mind: to become a Pokémon Master. After more than two decades of chasing that dream in the anime television series of the multimedia franchise, Ash finally secured the title as well as a shiny trophy for himself after winning a league championship, confirmed.

The current iteration of the show takes place in the Aloa Region, a chain of tropical islands based on those that make up the state of Hawaii. As more than a few folks online have pointed out, Ash did technically win the Orange League during the ’90s-era run of the TV program, but according to pop culture outlets like Kotaku, “that tournament wasnt really up to typical League standards.”

Of course, many fans had to voice their excitement via Twitter. Even Veronica Taylor, the original American voice of Ash, took to social media in order to congratulate the trainer on his historic victory. To many OG fans, Taylor is and always will be the voice of the character.

Congratulations to Ash Ketchum on winning the Pokémon League from Ashs younger self, circa 1998…yup, hard work, determination, good friends, and a bit of luck pay off! #pokemon#ashketchum#winning

The two games go on sale for the Nintendo Switch Friday, Nov. 15.

Pokmon: Every League Championship Ash Participated In

Ash competes in plenty of League Championships throughout his time in the Pokémon anime and even wins some of them, thanks to his skill as a Trainer.

Ash Ketchum has been on his Pokémon journey for the past twenty-three years. He’s been to eight different regions, befriending and catching all kinds of Pokémon on his way to become a Pokémon Master. Competitive and relentless, Ash also participated in numerous championships, often placing among the Top 10 and nearly reaching victory twice. It takes seven tries before he becomes a regional League Champion, though.

Still, Ash has two Championship titles. Most recently, he won the Manalo Conference, effectively making him Alola’s first-ever Champion. Such an achievement confirms and validates his skill as a Trainer, and most importantly, brings him one step closer to reaching his goal.

Same Universe But A Brand New Trainer Becomes The Protagonist

It’s possible that the Pokémon anime could start over fresh and use a new protagonist who is unrelated to the original story. It could also go the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX route and start off with Ash giving his Pikachu to an aspiring new trainer, before he heads off into the sunset.

The Pokémon anime has already toyed with the idea of trying out new characters in the role of the main character, as was the case with the Pokémon Origins miniseries back in 2013. The idea of the Pokémon anime being a cyclical series meant that Ash had to become an idiot at the start of each region so that the new fans could catch up on the rules of the setting. Using a new character and possibly switching out the role with someone else each season could avoid these issues and help to further differentiate each season from the last.

Ash Died In The First Season Of Pokmon

Do you think Ash will ever become a pokémon master?

After losing to the psychic gym leader Sabrina in episode 21, Abra and the Psychic Showdown, Ash, Misty, and Brock head off to Lavender Town in search of a ghost Pokémon so he can have an advantage against Sabrinas powerful Kadabra. Upon reaching the Pokémon Tower, where ghosts are rumored to hang out, the gang decides to wait until morning in hopes the setting will be less scary. That doesnt turn out to be the case, and after hearing screams from inside which are actually coming from Team Rocket the gang decides to enter. Gastly, Haunter, and Gengar are the ghost Pokémon responsible for scaring Team Rocket, and they continue to pose their spooky tricks on Ash and friends.

The heroes run out of the tower in a fright, but Ash is determined to go back in. He gives Pikachu and Charmander a pep talk, and they re-enter the tower. Misty and Brock arent as easily convinced, deciding instead to stay outside. Ash and his Pokémon quickly encounter Haunter, whose Lick attack paralyzes Charmander, forcing Ash to recall his Pokémon to its Poké Ball. Gengar then joins Haunter, but their goofy antics are lost on Ash, and his unamused bewilderment saddens the ghosts. They sink through the floor, and Ash and Pikachu try to stop them. They crash on the ground forcing the chandelier above to fall and crush them, rendering them unconscious.

Shouldn’t Have: He Still Has No Idea What He’s Doing

It doesn’t matter how long Ash has been battling, he still makes poor decisions literally all the time. And he still loses. All the time.

A person like that really shouldn’t be winning Pokémon Leagues. Then again, this could just go to show how much Ash has improved from his Thunder Armor days. He’s definitely been worse, we can say that for sure. Still, he doesn’t even know how to use type charts.

Pokmon: 5 Reasons Ash Should Never Have Become Champion

We’ll be going over 5 reasons why Ash’s big win should have happened, along with 5 reasons that it maybe shouldn’t have.

It finally happened, Ash Ketchum has finally become a Pokémon Master! It certainly took long enough, and it was at the Alola Region where Ash was finally able to beat out the competition and become the champion. But after almost 20 years and too many episodes to count, Ash’s victory lap wasn’t as perfect as some hoped it would be.

Today, we’ll be going over 5 reasons why Ash’s big win should have happened, along with 5 reasons that it maybe shouldn’t have. Let’s get right on into it!

Ash Steals Other Trainers’ Pokemon

Do you remember how Ash got his Charmander? This idiot Damian left it out in the middle of the woods, because all trainers are scum, and Ash saves it from dying. Then he goes and helps Charmander spit fire in Damians face. Then Brock casually tells Ash that Charmander is essentially his for the taking. Charmander seems pretty happy about this to be honest, but remember, its only history was in an abusive partnership. Ash doesnt consider the ramifications of taking in an emotionally damaged Pokémon, but it would be a great addition to the team. He doesnt even ask what Charmander wants, now that its free.

And what do you know? Charmander quickly evolves into Charizard and is a tough, aloof, and defiant dragon. Ash has no idea how to handle its personality, and it frequently attacks him when he asks it to fight. It has no respect for him because now that it is grown up, it realizes what Ash has done: stolen its liberty.

Ash Ketchum Will NEVER Become The Pokemon Master

Through thick and thin, Ash always manages to make sure that his Pokémon come first. He loves them more than anything in the world, and cares about how they’re feeling over a title any day. The love and care that Ash has for his team really proves that he is an incredible trainer.

Sure, a win is great, but if his Pokémon aren’t happy, then neither is he. This man turned to stone for his Pokémon, for crying out loud, show his name some respect.
