What Is Xp In Pokmon Go And Why Do You Want It
XP stands for Experience Points, and it’s what you need to collect to increase your level. As your level goes up, you get access to Gyms, to Max Revives, to Pinap and Nanab Berries, to Great and Ultra Balls, to Evolution Items, Friendship, Trading, Special Research, and more.
It also lets you hatch and catch higher level Pokémon from eggs and in the wild, and power up your Pokémon’s CP and HP, so they survive longer and do more damage in battles.
The amount of XP you need to level up is different for different levels. For example, it only takes 1,000 XP to go from level one to level two. But it takes 25,000 XP to go from 19 to 20, and a whopping 5,000,000 XP to go from 39 to 40. Getting to level 40 takes a combined 20,000,000 XP
Pokmon Go: How To Get The Most Xp And Level Up The Fastest
Like most any game, leveling up is important in Pokémon Go Levels aren’t just a way of charting your progress either. The higher your level, the more game elements open up to you, including Gyms, Pinap Berries, Max Revives, the level of Pokémon you can hatch and catch, and even the limits to which you can power them up. You can do most things in the game at level five, but to get the fullest experience in Pokémon Go, you’ll want to aim for level 40!
To level up, you need XP. To get XP, all you have to do is play the game. To get max XP and level up as fast as possible, though, you gotta play smart. Here’s how!
Are There Any Other Ways To Get Double Xp In Pokmon Go Events
Absolutely. Pokémon Go has run several events so far that have offered XP multipliers. During some of them, it was a blanket 2x multiplier for all XP essentially a constant Lucky Egg all day, every day, for the duration of the event. And yes, if you used a Lucky Egg at the same time, you got quadruple the XP.
Pokémon Go has also run events where the multiplier for XP was specific to catching, hatching, or some other action. It’s essential to pay attention to what specific action in the game grants these bonuses and focus on those. Like other multipliers, these also stack with a Lucky Egg.
Keep an eye out for them.

Pokmon Go Level Cap Increase And Other Levelling Changes Explained
From November 30th, 2020 as part of the Season of Celebration and Go Beyond update, came a much fan-requested update – a level cap increase, adding an additional 10 levels to the game from the previous level cap of 40 to the level cap of 50.
Alongside it comes a change to how levelling works. As well as meeting a certain threshold of XP, you also need to complete certain challenges – named Level Up Research – in order to progress to the next level.
This includes earning certain medal types, catching a number of Pokémon within a set period, completing raids and much more. This is designed to make the levelling process as much as about skill as it is simply earning XP.
That’s the broad strokes of the new levelling system. Here’s some other details worth knowing about how it will work:
- As with levels 1 to 40, the CP cap of Pokémon will increase in line with your level. However, to level your Pokémon past level 40, you need to use a new resource type – XL Candy.
- Any existing XP you have earned over Level 40 will contribute to the progress of future levels, meaning any additional XP reached once you hit your level will not go to waste, and will count when you complete the associated research and progress to the next level.
Additionally, hitting Level 40 before the end of the year will make you a Legacy Level 40 player – unlocking a special Legacy Level 40 medal as well as the Legacy 40 Challenge quest.
How Do Lucky Eggs Work In Pokmon Go
You get Lucky Eggs as rewards for leveling up, but you can also buy them in the Pokémon Shop, either singularly or at a discount for 8-packs. Once you use a Lucky Eggs, you get double XP for the next 30 minutes. That’s 30 minutes as counted by the Pokémon Go servers, mind you. If you stop playing to do something else, the time still goes down. Here’s the difference a Lucky Egg makes:

Get Gold In All The Medals
Pokémon Go offers bronze, silver, and gold medals for achieving certain goals.
The first set of medals are for achievements. You get them for walking, registering Pokémon to your Pokédex, capturing Pokémon, evolving Pokémon, hatching Pokémon, visiting PokéStops, battling in Gyms, training in Gyms, catching tiny Rattata, catching Pikachu, and catching big Magikarp.
Earning them is their own reward, because Pokémon Go currently offers nothing else. Still, not everyone will walk, catch, hatch, evolve, battle and train that much, so there are bragging rights at least.
The second set of medals are for catching but by Pokémon type: Normal, flying, poison, earth, rock, bug, ghost, fire, water, grass, electric, psychic, fairy, fighting, steel, ice, and dragon. As you go through bronze, silver, and gold, you get bonuses to catch those types of Pokémon: x1.1, x1.2, and x1.3 respectively. Since Pokémon Gen 1 has only one steel type, only three dragon type, and only a handful of ice type, getting some of the medals can be a real challenge.
Getting all the medals… yeah, that’s a win.
Can You Just Buy Xp In Pokmon Go
Kind of. You can’t buy XP directly, but you can buy Lucky Eggs, which temporarily double the XP you get while playing the game. The effect lasts for 30 min., and you can get them in different quantities from the Shop:
- One Lucky Egg for 80 PokéCoins.
- Eight Lucky Eggs for 500 PokéCoins.
Lucky Eggs are also sometimes included in the Special Boxes that are made available during events, allowing you to save some PokéCoins.

Niantic Confirms Level Cap Increase For Pokmon Go
Level 40 is so last year.
Longtime Pokémon Go players can finally look forward to reaching new heights. Niantic officially confirmed today that the games level cap will be increased in the near future.
This update has been in the works for quite a while because data for the increased cap was found in the games code back in April.
The current max level in Pokémon Go is 40, and it has been that way for years. Now, it appears that Niantic will up that number to at least level 50, with completely new level up rewards too.
The EXP requirement for level 40 is five million, meaning the jump to level 50 would likely require players to amass 10 million EXP playing the game. Similar rewards will likely be included on the grind to level 50, with tens of Ultra Balls and high-level healing items or rewards like Incense, Lucky Eggs, or Lure Modules.
Anyone hoping that all of their progress once they hit level 40 will carry over and instantly shoot them up to the new level cap will probably be disappointed, however. It looks like everyone will start from the base five million EXP and have to grind from there to reach the new max.
There was no timeline given for when the level cap will be increased, but Niantic has confirmed that it is coming sooner rather than later.

Pokemon Go Level 40 To Level 50 Requirements
Rather than simply having to earn a certain amount of XP to level up as is the case up to and including level 40, there are now some additional challenges attached to leveling up. As well as a huge XP requirement, each level between levels 41 and 50 has its own set of unique tasks attached to it. These can range from catching a certain number of Pokemon within a set period of time to beating difficult raids and trainer battles multiple times. Some of them can be incredibly time-consuming, although it’s definitely worth the extra effort.
As well as increasing the potential of your Pokemon, every new level will grant a selection of fantastic rewards, which include new poses and clothing for your avatar as well as Rare Candy XL, which is needed to level up your Pokemon beyond level 40. There aren’t too many players who have been able to reach the big five-oh so far, but, now that the requirements are known, it shouldn’t take too long for 50 to become the new norm.

Complete Your Regional Pokdex
Pokémon Go’s slogan is “catch ’em all” and that directly translates into completing your Pokédex by catching, hatching, or evolving at least one of every type of Pokémon currently available in the game: Everything from Abra to Zubat or Bulbasaur to Tyranitar, if we go by the numbers.
It doesn’t include the Legendary Birds or Legendary Beasts because Pokémon Go hasn’t had an event or otherwise officially released them yet. Nor does it include Mew, Mewtwo, Celebi, and the other mythical, because Pokémon has likewise kept them off the board, at least for now.
It also doesn’t include the region-locked Pokémon that you can only catch in specific places Taurus in parts of North America, Mr. Mime in parts of Europe, Farfetch’d in parts of Asia, Kangaskhan in Australia, Heracross in Central and South America, and Corsola in the tropics.
What it does include is all the Gen 1 and Gen 2 Pokémon currently available in your area. In other words, catching ’em all and completing your regional Pokédex.

How To Level Up From 1 To 40
Leveling from 1-40 is fairly simple: Use Lucky Eggs, catch Pokémon, compete in raids, send gifts to friends and battle.
Basically anything you do in the game will reward you with XP, but there are some things that grant better XP than others, and for less effort.
Popping a Lucky Egg can increase that XP, but save those for when you plan on doing a bunch of raids in a row, or when you plan on evolving a ton of Pokémon for the maximum use of your Lucky Eggs.
Lucky Eggs will grant double XP for 30 minutes and are sometimes given as rewards, but most of the time youll have to acquire them through the shop. It costs 80 PokéCoins for one and 500 PokéCoins for eight Lucky Eggs. In real world money, that equals about $5.00 for eight Lucky Eggs, since 550 PokéCoins costs $4.99 in the shop.
Using a Lucky Egg during a double XP event will grant you even more rewards. The XP bonus stacks, so instead of a 2X reward, players will get 4X the XP. Double XP events have been decreasing in number, but they are often implemented as part of a Pokémon spotlight or raid hour, so save your eggs for those weekly happenings.
Making friends is one of the best ways to earn XP in the game, although it isnt one of the fastest. The process takes 90 days of interactions with your friend to complete and involves sending each other gifts or participating in raids together.

Traditional Individual Pokmon Level
But, as we mentioned, regardless of the main mechanic being Combat Points , traditional Pokémon Level still exists and has a very important place in the game. When you tap on a wild Pokémon on the main map, but before you actually see the Pokémon in the encounter screen, the wild Pokémon is randomly assigned a Level. This Level is assigned for you personally, which is why sometimes when you are walking around with a friend, you will both tap the same Rattata and yours will be CP 10 while theirs is CP 400. Your Rattata mightve been randomly assigned the number 1 for its Level, while your friends Rattata may have been randomly assigned the number 30. The range of numbers that a Pokémon can have randomly assigned to it must be at or below your current trainer Level. That is why you encounter stronger Pokémon as your Trainer Levels up, and why everyones first Pokémon caught at Trainer Level is always at Pokémon Level 1. The only thing that changes is the range of potential numbers that it can be assigned for its Level.

Mega Aerodactyl Raid Counters
Whenever the shadow variant of a Pokémon listed below is available in the game, it is strongly recommended to use it over its regular/purified counterpart. Mega Aerodactyls best raid counters are listed below:Mega Aerodactyl Counters
|Wild Charge Electric|
Aerodactyl has so many weaknesses that the list could go on forever. If you dont have any of the Pokémon listed above powered up, you can always use:
- Generalist Pokémon such as Psycho Cut + Psystrike* Mewtwo
- Other heavy-hitting megas
- Eevolutions such as Glaceon or Jolteon
- The Hydro Cannon water starters: Empoleon, Swampert, Samurott or Feraligatr
- The Crabhammer bros: Kingler and Clawitzer
- Genesect/Excadrill/Dialga with steel type moves
- Luxray with Spark and Wild Charge
Keep in mind that Mega Abomasnow is currently boosted and it will temporarily reach level 52 when mega evolved, regardless of what level it is. If you want a cheap top-tier counter, you could take advantage of this fact while the bonus lasts. Just be careful with Mega Aerodactyls moveset, as Iron Head, Rock Slide and Ancient Power will hurt.
