What Is The Newest Pokemon Card Set

Shining Fates : Charizard Vmax

Best Cards From FUSION STRIKE! Newest Pokemon Trading Card Game Set!

Remember Shining Fates? The collector’s focused release snuck out at the very start of 2021, and featured dozens of Pokemon in their shiny alternative colours. Particularly valuable cards were found in the ‘Shiny Vault’, which were foil, shiny versions of popular Pokemon, and leading the way in that was this shiny Charizard VMAX.

This year’s been pretty light on Charizard, which is a sure-fire way for an expansion to sell. If you were wondering where the year’s other big Charizard card is, the Celebrations Classic Collection Charizard, which is a reprint of the massively valuable Base Set, is currently sat in 13th place, at $84.62.

Any Other Pokmon Sets A Beginner Should Consider Collecting

Wizards of the Coast, who produced the early Pokémon card sets, had a collection of promotional cards called the Wizards Black Star Promos. These would be used at special events, films, tournaments, etc.

In total there are 53 cards, containing a nice mixture of card designs and illustrations. Again, its quite a fun set for a beginner to collect, and may even bring back memories of your first Pokémon movie!

After Fossil and before Team Rocket, we also saw the introduction of 130 card Base Set 2.

It wasnt particularly popular at the time though, and was probably a bit too similar to the original Base Set, considering it was only released a year later.

With that being said, some collectors like to go for the full sweep of vintage Pokémon cards. Ill leave that up to you though!

At this stage, I also want to mention some other popular vintage sets like Gym Heroes, Neo Genesis, Legendary Collection and the e-Card Series. All of which are great options as your collection builds.

However, as a starting point, I think the four sets mentioned above are perfect for beginners.

Theres also one last set Id like to mention Evolutions from the XY Series. This is the 20th anniversary set released in 2016.

If you want a nostalgic throwback, without the price tag, this is the set for you.

It only contains the first generation of Pokémon, but mixes in some modern full-art card designs, a reverse holographic in each booster, and even five secret rares!

Pokmon Tcg’s New Astral Radiance Set Announced Releasing 2022

The next Pokémon Trading Card Game set has been revealed as Astral Radiance, which is likely to focus on Legends: Arceus, and will release in 2022.

The Pokémon Trading Card Game is as popular as ever, with many rushing to collect every card out there, and that looks to be continuing with the next set of cards, Astral Radiance, which will release later in 2022. How long fans will be able to find this new set, though, is anyones guess. With the fanbase desperate to purchase Pokémon cards, finding Astral Radiance at a local card store might be a difficult task.

When it originally launched with the very first Pokémon games, the Pokémon TCG was popular, but perhaps for different reasons than it is today. Nowadays, the focus seems to be on collecting every card in every set, and sometimes selling those that are worth surprisingly high amounts of money. The fervor over authentic, valuable cards has gotten so great and widespread that recently eBay launched a new system of authentication for those selling both Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards to better combat the potential for scams, like Logan Pauls infamous $3.5 million Pokémon card purchase which turned out to be fraudulent. The more cards that come out, the more demand for them soars.

Black Star Ishihara Signed Gx Promo Card

A card featuring the Pokémon Company’s President himself.

Sold for $247,230 in April 2021

The most recent card to make headlines for pure value, this card sold for nearly a quarter of a million dollars at auction on April 26th 2021. You can find the full details at our story here, but this card depicts Pokémon Company founder and current president Tsunekazu Ishihara, and was given to the company staff as a celebration of the man’s 60th birthday in 2017.

That makes the card rare, but this specific version is even rarer, as Ishihara actually signed this near-mint card to boost its price even further. The “2017 P.M. SM Black Star #TPCi01 Tsunekazu Ishihara Signed Pokémon GX Promo Card”, to use its full title, is a testament to the raw power apparently held by the Pokémon president. The ability “Red Chanchanko” is in reference to the red vest traditionally worn on 60th birthdays in Japan, and prevents the effect of any attack, ability or trainer card against Ishihara. Meanwhile, its GX move “60 Congratulations”, tells you to flip 60 coins, and take a present for each one. A truly legendary card.

Pokmon: New Tcg Sets Are The Best So Far

The Pokémon Trading Card Game’s new Sword and Shield sets are some of the best in the history of the entire game, hands down. Here’s why.

The Pokémon Trading Card Game has been infamous ever since it’s creation, with many older fans still holding on to fond memories of their collection. Truthfully, Pokémon cards have some fantastic aesthetic and artwork behind them. Even in the older Base Set days, certain cards were sought after as collector’s items and still are to this very day. The cultural imprint of the Pokémon Trading Card Game remains prominent in many people’s minds.

Although many love to reminisce on older times, Pokémon has evolved much like it’s fans. Many might assume the newer sets to be lacking in comparison to older cards. However, this assumption couldn’t be further from the truth. Pokémon cards not only look better than they ever have before, but the competitive metagame surrounding them is fun, healthy, and shockingly deep.

Questions To Consider When Selecting Pokmon Cards

How many Pokémon cards are in the pack?

You can buy large, themed collections of Pokémon cards as well as individual booster packs. Most booster packs contain 10 cards. Larger packs can contain upward of 100 cards. Before you buy, make sure you know how many cards you’re getting in a pack, so you can tell whether or not you’re getting a good value for your money.

What kinds of Pokémon cards are you buying?

Although you never know exactly which cards you’ll get in a pack, you should know which types of cards you’ll be getting. For instance, themed decks and elite trainer boxes tend to contain a mixture of Pokémon character cards, trainer cards, and energy cards. Booster packs usually contain mostly Pokémon character cards with a mixture of common and rare offerings.

Does the pack contain everything you need to play?

If you want to get started playing the Pokémon TCG right away, you’ll want a pack that contains everything you need. Themed decks are ready-to-use decks that come complete with everything you need to get started. They contain Pokémon character cards, energy cards, and trainer cards, as well as a paper gaming mat with the game rules on the reverse, counters to keep track of how much damage your Pokémon have taken, and a coin for when you need to make heads or tails decisions .

You can also find some other options if you want a pack that has everything you need to start playing, such as trainer kits and elite trainer boxes.

What’s the cost per card?

Blastoise Wizards Of The Coast Presentation Galaxy Star Holo

  • Release Date: 1998
  • Grading: CGG 8.5
  • Pokemon card value at auction: $360,000

The Pokemon Trading Card Game community was stunned when this insanely rare Pokemon card was discovered by the public for the first time in 2021. Originally commissioned by Wizards of the Coast in 1998, the Blastoise Presentation card was supposed to give stores an idea of what the TCG line would look like in its final print run.

While there are varying reports about its history, its currently believed that only two are known to have ever existed, with only one currently accounted for. Its essentially is one of the earliest known Pokemon cards to exist, at least for the North American release. It was so early that one of the copies had a Magic: The Gathering backside to it, while the other is simply blank.

The historical Nintendo artifact went up for sale at Heritage Auctions in January 2021, and sold for a whopping $360,000, making it the third most expensive collectible just an inch behind the Base Set Charizard. Given that only two of these exist, it could one day take the top spot as the most valuable Pokemon card of all time. If nothing else it may be the rarest Pokemon card in the world.

Buying Guide For Best Pokmon Booster Boxes

The Pokémon Trading Card Game first launched in the United States in October of 1998, and American Pokémon fans instantly fell in love with the highly customizable, collectible card game as it blossomed from its initial 151 creatures to well over 800 and counting years later.

Some Pokémon TCG enthusiasts arent satisfied with buying individual booster packs of 10 cards a piece, and those who want to quickly complete their collections or optimize their competitive decks with the best Pokémon cards that each set has to offer often look to buying booster boxes instead. Every Pokémon booster box contains 36 individual booster packs, and since the average Pokémon TCG series offers 130 to over 210 individual Pokémon cards to collect, its easy to see why a booster box is a great alternative for dedicated fans.

While we wish that we couldve caught em all, we investigated more than enough Pokémon booster boxes to know how to decide which ones are the best choice for Pokéfans.

Pokmon Tcg: Sword & Shield

NEW Pokemon tcg EX de 60PCS Large Mega EX Card Strongest ...

These cards will come from the Japanese VMAX Climax sets Character Rare and Character Super Rare cards, which are full art cards featuring the cards Pokémon and their Trainer. May Have A New Mainline Pokmon Game

With the exciting new possibilities opened up by Legends: Arceus, fans naturally cant wait to see what the mainline Pokémon series has in store next. 2022 may see a reveal of the next mainline game, although such information may not see the light of day until much later in the year. Because of the unprecedented nature of Legends: Arceus, it isnt clear what direction the series will move in next, although fans have certainly come up with plenty of ideas.

Although theres usually a long gap between remakes, such as the seven-year wait between Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire and Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, the gaps could be attributed to the games initially releasing on different consoles. But because Black and White, the fifth generation Pokémon games, released on the Nintendo DS just like Diamond and Pearl, fans cant be sure if these titles will receive remakes sooner rather than much later. Generation 5 is also known for having direct sequels in the same generation, which adds further complexity to remaking them compared to past Pokémon titles.

Evolving Skies: Umbreon Vmax

Umbreon is the most popular of all of the Eeveelutions, so it’s no surprise to see it take the top spot as the most valuable card released in 2021. This art by Keiichiro Ito is stunning, with a VMAX’d Umbreon reaching for the moon on a beautiful, sea-green night. Eeveelutions have completely barreled through this year thanks to being a prominent part of Evolving Skies, so it’s fitting to see one rise to the top of this list.
