Nintendo Vows To Ban Hacked Pokemon And Cheaters

How to tell REAL vs FAKE vs LEGAL HACKED Pokemon – Pokémon Sword and Shield: The Crown Tundra Guide

If youre a regular player of Pokemon Sword and Shield youve probably noticed things have looked a little odd in the recent two or three months. You hop into a raid with three random people online and before the match starts theres a brief pause as suddenly everyone in your party has an animation of sparkles coming off them. Everyone youre teamed up with is using a shiny.

Or you do a Surprise Trade only to receive a shiny in a special Pokeball. At first, you get excited but then you realize that your Pokemon has been named either a website that sells hacked Pokemon or someones Twitch stream where they hack Pokemon. I got one like this here but I covered the name with something equally relevant. You can still see their original name at the top.

Im not a betting man, but theres a good chance a lot of these Pokemon, especially the ones in trades, are hacked and my goodness it is a problem. Online battles are absolutely filled with shiny hacked Pokemon with perfect stats and moves and abilities that arent normally available.

Luckily, Nintendo of Japan recently issues a statement that a massive wave of bans was coming. People discovered using hacked Pokemon and altering their save data were going to just be banned. No more access to online features. No more raids with people. No more Dynamax adventures with other people. No more trades. Period.

And this doesnt just apply to Pokemon Sword and Shield but also Pokemon Home.

Part 4 Of 4: Testing The Cards

  • 1Make a small tear in it if you are certain it is a fake. Then take an old Pokémon card you don’t use anymore and make a small rip in that. Compare the rate at which both ripped. If the fake one ripped faster, then it’s without a doubt a fake.
  • 2A quick way to test if your Pokémon card is real or fake is to take a close look at the edge of it. Real Pokémon cards have a very thin sheet of black between the cardboard. It’s very thin, but up close it is easy to see the darkness between the two thin halves of the card. Fake cards do not have this.Advertisement

    • Energy cards are the hardest to tell if they are fake. Look closely at the symbols on the element sphere. Compare it to a card you know is real. If it’s any different, even if the difference is the length of one of the star points on the Double Colourless Energy Card, it’s fake for sure. Thanks!
    • On almost all Pokémon cards, the attacks don’t exist, even if they are real cards – so be aware of that.Thanks!Helpful113Not Helpful35
    • Boosters are not always safe, some people make fake booster packs. One way to authenticate the single booster packs are by making sure that the whole booster pack is covered in colour and not being silver in colour at the ends of the pack. Thanks!

Part 2 Of 4: Checking The Colors

Got this on wonder trade. How do I tell if it
  • 1See if the colors are faded, smudged, too dark, or just plain inaccurate . The chances that it’s a factory mistake are very slim; it’s much more likely to be fake.
  • 2Look at the back of the card. On fake cards, the blue swirling design often looks purplish. Also, sometimes the Poké Ball is upside down . Sometimes, the Poké Ball image can also look uneven on the card. Advertisement

The Pokmon Is Too Good To Be True

Hackers know how to make Pokémon appear legitimate, and it will generally be difficult to tell if it isnt. A huge telltale sign is if one seems too good to be true. A legitimate player is not likely to send out something valuable in a surprise trade when they could save it for themselves or use it to gain value in a trade.

Hackers tend to create shiny Pokémon, Pokémon with Pokérus, and level 100s with six perfect IVs and competitive movesets. Receiving any of these in a surprise trade probably means that it is hacked.

On the other hand, any Pokémon that is level one was likely bred and traded away. These are generally legitimate even if they have great IVs or egg moves. Unless it is shiny or has Pokérus, it should be safe to use or breed.

Many people enjoy collecting Pokémon cards. Unfortunately, there are some scam artists who will try to sell fake cards to enthusiastic collectors. However, their fakes are not as close to the real thing as they want you to think. An example of a legitimate card is one that is real. To authenticate legit cards, keep reading.

The Pokemon Is Too Good To Be True

If you trade and get a pokemon that is too good to be true, it is probably hacked. Most players arent going to trade away a valuable pokemon unless they are getting something good in exchange. If someone is trading you something that you are surprised to get, there is a good chance that it is hacked.

In addition, hackers like to create shiny pokemon and Pokemon with Pokerus. They will also make level 100s with competitive movesets and six perfect IVs. If you receive any of these kinds of pokemon in a trade, you can safely bet that it is hacked.

That said, most level one pokemon are bred and traded, and a level one could be legitimate even if it has egg moves or good IVs. As long as it isnt shiny and doesnt have Pokerus, it has a good chance of being legitimate and you can use it or breed it.

How Do You Know If Your Pokemon Is Hacked

How to tell if a Pokemon is HACKED in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon!

There are a few indicators that your Pokemon may be hacked. Its always handy to check after trading as well, especially if you want your team to be squeaky clean.

First of all, you can check the IVs of the Pokemon. If they are all perfect, chances are that your latest recruit has been hacked, but thats not the only indicator. The Trainer ID connected to the Pokemon may also be blank, named after a website selling hacks, or a shortened URL.

These are the main flags to suggest it actually originated through hacks, not caught in a traditional way.

As always, we would encourage players to stay away from hacked Pokemon at all costs. If you ever have a problem, or suspicion, that one of yours may be hacked tweet us at any time and well check it out!

The Pokemon Has Illegitimate Abilities Or Moves Or It Comes In An Illegal Poke Ball

In the Pokemon games, each pokemon has certain abilities and moves that it can learn. It is easy to find out what they are by doing a search. If you have a pokemon that can do things that this pokemon isnt supposed to do, then it is likely hacked.

If you have a hacked pokemon with moves that it cant learn naturally, you wont be able to use it in play. The only way to find out is to look it up. If you find out that the pokemon has moves that it shouldnt have, it is probably hacked.

If your pokemon comes in an illegal ball, then you know it is hacked. The starters only come in standard poke balls, so if you get one in a different ball, it is probably hacked. The thing to remember is that if you breed this pokemon, it will pass the ball down to the offspring, which means that it will look the same as a hack.

Then if nothing is a sure indicator, check it in Pokesav, which allows you to see more things, including SID, hometown, and country, which could help you to show it’s a hack. If nothing looks wrong there, then use pAC as a last resort if it’s not an event Pokemon.

What Happens If You Have A Hacked Pokemon

Absolutely nothing. The hacked Pokemon themselves cannot do a thing to your game files. Its the methods through which you obtained them from that do. If you personally coded those Pokemon into your game file, theres a good chance that it could corrupt your game file; delete information or just straight up crash it.

Pokemon Go Players Banned For Cheating

How to tell if a Pokemon is HACKED in Pokemon Ultra Sun ...

The creators of Pokemon Go have announced they’ve punished more than five million players for cheating.

In a blog post, Niantic said it issued sanctions to players across three games – Pokemon Go, Ingress, and Harry Potter Wizards Unite.

It said since 2020, more than 20% of those were permanent bans.

“We have made a commitment with all of our players towards promoting fair gameplay…and improving transparency with our players,” the creator wrote.

The three popular games all use augmented reality to combine gaming with the real world.

Part 1 Of 4: Checking The Display

  • 1Familiarize yourself with the Pokémon species. Sometimes the pictures on fake cards show things that aren’t even Pokémon, like Digimon or animals. Be suspicious if what a card displays looks questionable, or if there appears to be a sticker on top of the card.
  • 2Look at the attacks and HP. If the HP is anywhere over 300, or the attacks don’t exist, then it’s a fake for sure. Also, if it says HP instead of HP , it is definitely a fake card because real cards display the HP first and not the attack no. first. That’s only with old cards; new cards have HP 80 instead of 80 HP.
  • However, a few genuine cards have the variable and the attribute name inverted as a result of a printing mistake. Do not discard the card as fake without making further checks, as if the card is a genuine with a mistake, it may be valuable.
  • 3Look for spelling mistakes, fancy borders around the Pokémon’s picture, or a cup-like base holding the energy.
  • 4Compare the energy symbol to other cards. Many fakes have energy symbols that are slightly larger, distorted, or offset from each other.
  • 5Look at the text. On fake cards, the text is usually slightly smaller than on real cards and is usually in a different font.
  • 6Check the weakness, resistance, and the retreat cost. The weakness/resistance’s maximum damage addition/subtraction is +/-40, unless the weakness is x2. The retreat cost is no more than 4.

    Illegal Abilities Or Moves

Each Pokémon in Sword and Shield has a specific set of abilities and moves that they can learn. These moves are referred to as legal. If a Pokémon has a move or ability that it cannot learn naturally, it is hacked and cannot be used in competitive play.

An example of this would be if a Cinderace had the ability Sturdy or the move Hydro Pump. It cannot have this ability or learn this move, so the only way to get them would be through hacking. This is fairly rare, but its still worth looking out for.

Follow these steps now you have changed your password and turned on two-factor authentication:

  • Check your account security settings – Go into your accounts settings and find the security settings area. Check what devices and apps are connected and disconnect any you dont recognise. Check recent log ins and screenshot the information of unauthorised log ins – most provide time, date, IP address, browser type and device type.

  • Scan your devices for malware – There are a number of ways the perpetrator may have got your log in details – from a past breach , guessed it, seen you type it in or you may have told them in the past. However, they could also have malicious software on one of your devices that gives them access to what you type into websites. How To Spot A Hacked Pokemon

This is just a quick blog to make a run down of what could be considered hacked or “too good to be true”!

Disclaimer: I’m not an expert in this, but from my experiences of seeing hacked Pokemon I do have some knowledge of what to look out for!

The main reason I’m writing it that I’ve been seeing these sorts of Pokemon being offered in trades, and I think ppl should be aware of the situation first hand!!

This blog explains that having these sorts of Pokemon can hurt your game, whether it’s by crashing your game or ruin your online experiences.

Now be aware as there is no guarantee way of finding out for sure, but there can be a few indicators that can help you to know!

    ~ ~

Being Shiny / Having 6 IVs!

IVs are shown on how strong a Pokemon can be! It’s usually indicated by clicking “+” on the pokemon and it would tell you if it’s “ok”, “decent”, “great”, etc etc, being the best stat is called, well “best”.

Now having regular Pokemon with 6iv is one thing; but a shiny Pokemon with the perfect nature, 6iv and hidden ability, it’s almost too good to be true. Even a 5iv missing the attack or special they don’t need can be questionable, because the odds of getting a shiny Pokemon with the right/perfect IVs are low .

If there is a legendary or mythical Pokemon you got that has all six of its stats being considered “best”, then it’s 6 IVs, and therefore may be considered hacked!

    OT

    Where it came from!

    Illegal moves, genders, nicknames, etc.
