Now that youve got more Stardust than you know what to do with, we should probably explain what youre supposed to do with it. While you can get by catching Pokemon and expanding your PokeDex without the need for Stardust, if you want to make your team the very best, like no one ever was, youll need to keep some Stardust on hand.
Stardusts primary purpose is to power up your Pokemon. You can level your Pokemon up until that white curve above it is as far to the right as it will go. Slightly confusingly, every time you level up your trainer, each Pokemon gets two extra segments to the curve, so a fully levelled up Pokemon can be levelled up twice more for everytime you level up. Levelling up Pokemon will cost Stardust and Candies, though it will cost more of each depending on how high your Pokemons level already is.
Considering how small the quantities of Stardust you get for any individual action, levelling up is incredibly expensive. Getting a Pokemon from level 1 to level 40 costs 270,000 Stardust, for example. For that reason, you should only focus on Pokemon youre likely to use in Raids, and ideally Pokemon with good IVs. IVs are individual values, and refer to their rating out of 15 for Attack, Defence, and HP. These can be found by selecting a Pokemon then choosing Appraise from the menu.
With that, you know every possible way to get Stardust in the game, and exactly what its used for. Thats all you need to be a Pokemon Master!

How To Get Kings Rock
It should come as little surprise to Pokemon trainers on the prowl for evolution stones, but the Kings Rock evolution stone is found the same way as the rest of them. Unless Niantic updates the game to allow players to obtain a Kings Rock using other methods, the only way to get one at the time of this writing is to get lucky at a PokeStop.
To increase ones odds of finding a Kings Rock, its a good idea to hang out near areas with a high concentration of PokeStops. This may mean traveling to a bigger city, but taking the time to do this will make the search for a Kings Rock go much faster. Not only that, but players can advance their progress in other areas of the game while farming for Kings Rock at PokeStops.
While walking between PokeStops, players can earn XP by catching new Pokemon and hatching eggs. Furthermore, they may acquire one of the other evolution stones in their attempt to get a Kings Rock, like the Up-Grade or the Metal Coat, which could go a long way in filling out the Pokedex. So even though walking around between different PokeStops may seem boring, its actually a great way to advance in Pokemon GO.

What Does A Star Piece Do
Described in the in-game text as a small shard of a beautiful gem, a Star Piece is essentially the stardust equivalent of a Lucky Egg. However, instead of doubling your XP for 30 minutes, the Star Piece boosts the amount of stardust you earn by 50 percent for half an hour.
The Star Piece is thus an aid to something that has more recently become a big deal. Stardust has always had its place in Pokemon GO, but the introduction of trading kicked interest in it to the next level. Powering up Pokemon is still a primary use for stardust, but trades have made it even more important. Its obviously been in short supply throughout the player base, which is why the Star Piece is so useful.
Know When To Put On A Star Piece
Star Pieces are items that can be bought in the game’s shop that multiple Stardust by 1.5, which can pay off greatly during events with boosted Stardust. Employing the use of a Star Piece, stacked Research encounters, and the Quick Catch method during even just one hour of double Stardust can earn a Pokémon trainer over 100,000 Stardust.
Farming Stardust can be quite a grind, but when looking to power-up Pokémon, it’s an investment that will have a longterm payoff.

How To Get A Star Piece
The most reliable place to find a Star Piece is in the Shop, provided you have enough PokeCoins. At least at the time of this article, the Star Piece is not for sale as an individual item . However, it is for sale as an item in the limited time only boxes at the very top of the Shop .
Heres how many Star Pieces are in each box, keeping in mind that every box also has a variety of other goodies in it too:
- Special Box: Star Piece x4
- Great Box: Star Piece x6
- Ultra Box: None
Obviously, the Great Box is the way to go if youve got the 780 PokeCoins, plus youll also receive Super Incubators, Lucky Eggs and Lure Modules. Star Pieces have been for sale by themselves in the past as well, so depending on when you read this article, you might want to check to see if you can snag one individually.

What Is Stacking In Pokemon Go
The capability of stacking effects of multiple Star Piece, Lucky Egg, and Incense at the same time, was announced on April 15, and today, the boost-item stacking feature is live. Each of the power-ups is active for 30 minutes, but with this new feature, you can activate multiple Star Pieces, Lucky Eggs, or Incense.
Using Stardust To Power Up Pokmon
To power up Pokémon and increase their Combat Power , you need to use their respective candy and Stardust. This is important, as the more CP your Pokémon has, the more HP, attack, and defense they have. The stronger your Pokémon are, the easier it is to complete raids and take down gyms. As you level them up, the more candy and Stardust they require to power up further. Lucky Pokémon require less candy and Stardust to power up.
Since candy and Stardust goes fast when powering up, we recommend only leveling the strongest of the strong.
Each time you power up a Pokémon, they gain a half level. Your Pokémons level cannot exceed your trainer level, and it caps at 40. You can see a chart of the power up costs below.

Can You Use Two Lucky Eggs At Once
No. Unfortunately, lucky eggs do not stack. You can stack different kinds of bonusesfor example, you can activate incense and a lucky egg at the same time and sit at at a lurebut you can not stack the same kind of bonus more than once. If you try to activate two lucky eggs, you wont get 4x experience.
What Is Stardust In Pokemon Go And Why Do You Want It
Stardust is necessary for getting the strongest Pokemon. When you’re powering up your Pokémon, you will need species specific Candy, but you also need a lot of Stardust. You also need Stardust to buy secondary Charge Moves for the Pokémon Go Battle League, Raids, Team GO Rocket battles, and Gyms. The cost grows quickly based on rarity, ranging from 10K for common Pokemon to 100K for Legendary.
You also need Stardust for making trades. Regular trades can cost 100 or less Stardust, depending on your Friendship level. However, trades for new Pokédex entries start at 20,000 Stardust, and Shiny or Legendary trades start at 1,000,000 Stardust! The better friends you are with the other trainer, the lower the cost, but even as Best Friends, it adds up fast.
Now that Team Go Rocket has shown up, you’ll also need Stardust for every Shadow Pokemon you want to purify. Some only cost 1,000 Stardust to purify, while others can cost 3,000 or even 5,000 Stardust, and that’s just the normal Pokémon. If you happen to rescue one of the Legendary Shadow Pokémon from Giovanni, it’s going to cost you 20,000 Stardust to purify! While some players prioritize only the strongest Shadow Pokemon for purification, if you want to earn that medal, it’s ultimately going to cost a lot of Stardust.
In other words, no Stardust, no powering up, no trading, no purifying.

The Best Way To Get More Stardust In Pokmon Go
There are several ways to get more Stardust in Pokémon Go, but the quickest and easiest way to do so is through catching Pokémon.
Starting with the February Gen 2 update, you get more Stardust the higher in the evolution chain the wild Pokémon is:
- First in evolution chain – 100 Stardust, 3 Candy
- Second in evolution chain – 300 Stardust, 5 Candy
- Third in evolution chain – 500 Stardust, 10 Candy
Whatever creature’s you’re catching, with the relative ease you can catch Pokémon in city centres and any populated area, getting out there and catching is by far your best option.
Aim for low-level areas to catch the weaker, more common Pokémon – they’re the easiest to get a hold of, and the quickest, and so grinding through a field of Pidgeys, Zubats and Rattatas is your safest bet. You’ll also want to think about ways to find Pokémon faster, such as dropping lures and incense, so that you can get the very most out of a quick grind session.
If you think about the numbers, it’s possible to catch around one Pokémon a minute when really trying – at 100 Stardust per Pokémon, that’s 3,000 Stardust in half an hour’s catching, which isn’t bad.
It’s also worth remembering to combine any Stardust hunts with seasonal events that may increase drops and encounter rates, such as the Thanksgiving update that doubled all Stardust drops for a whole week.
