How To Complete The Battle A Trainer In The Great League Task

Rainy Castform Counters the Best Great League Pokémon in GO Battle League!

For players who are unable to cross the task off the list by completing a PvP battle in any of the currently available leagues, we’ll detail the process for finishing this item in the near future.

After reaching Step 3 and unlocking this task, head to the PvP section and complete any League battle to see if it satisfies the requirements.

If that doesn’t work, wait until July 12, when the Great League returns, and then come back to the PvP section and complete another trainer versus trainer battle.

It’s a pretty simple task once the Great League is actually around, so players may just need to be patient and work through some other goals while counting down the days to July 12 to progress beyond this stage. Otherwise, there’s nothing else to it. The task doesn’t require winning the battle, so players don’t even need to worry about putting together a formidable lineup if PvP isn’t their usual area of expertise.

In the coming weeks, we should learn more about what other events will be arriving during the rest of the;Season of Discovery. Be sure to check back in the near future for more;Pokemon GO;strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

Basic Vs Premium Rewards In The Pokmon Go Battle League

For players who have the extra PokéCoins there is an option to earn better Rewards for winning Battles. At the beginning of each Pokémon Go Battle League Set, you can choose between Basic and Premium Rewards. These Rewards include Berries, Stardust, TMs, and Pokémon Encounters.

The Pokémon you can encounter do not change between Premium and Basic, but they do get better as you rank up. Your first encounters for certain Ranks are guaranteed. For Season Seven, the Pokémon reward encounters and some of the other rewards are inspired by Elesa, a trainer introduced in Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon White Version:

  • Rank 1: Guaranteed encounter with Zebstrika.
  • Rank 1-9: Possible encounters with Poliwhirl, Flaaffy, Pupitar, or Galvantula.
  • Rank 10: Pikachu Libre avatar items.
  • Rank 10-15: Possible encounters with Medicham, Frillish, or Stunfisk.
  • Rank 15-20: Possible encounters with Scraggy, Lampent, Rufflet, or Shiny Rufflet.
  • Rank 19: An Elite Charged TM plus an Elite Fast TM as an end-of-season reward.
  • Rank 20-24: Encounter the Legendary Pokémon appearing in five-star raids at the time.
  • Ace Rank: Encounter with Deino.
  • Legend Rank: Encounter with Pikachu Libre. This will be the only time you’ll be able to encounter a Pikachu Libre during the season. You’ll also earn a pose and avatar items inspired by Elesa.
  • Catching Poliwhirl, Flaaffy, Pupitar, Medicham, Scraggy, Galvantula, Lampent, and Stunfisk in Battle League reward encounters will also earn you more Candy XL than normal.

Cups In The Pokmon Go Battle League

In addtion to the various leagues, the Pokémon Go Battle League also holds cups. These themed special competitions have different restrictions than the standard leagues. In the past, these cups have included Premier Cups, which had similar CP restrictions as the various leagues, but only non-Legendary Pokémon could participate, and the Flying Cup, which only allowed Flying type Pokémon.

For Season 7, the following Cups will be featured:

  • The Ultra League Premier Cup will run April 26 through May 10.
  • The Great League Remix Cup will run April 12-26.
  • The Retro Cup only allows the first 15 Pokémon types excluding Dark, Steel, and Fairy and has a 1,500 CP limit. It will run May 10-17.
  • The Kanto Cup has a 1,500 CP limit and only allows Pokémon with a Pokédex number from 1 to 151. It is unranked and runs from May 24-31.
  • More cups will be revealed in the second half of Season 7.

Umbreon’s Defense Is Nearly Unbreakable

This Dark type Pokemon’s Level 50 stats include a Max CP of 2,416, an Attack of 126, a Defense of 240, and a Stamina of 126. Umbreon evolves from Eevee with 25 Candy, after the trainer walks 10 kilometers during the nighttime.

Umbreon’s best Quick move is Snarl , while its strongest Charge moves are Last Resort and Dark Pulse . It is strong in the Great League because the super low attack means a super high defense. This thing is the ultimate wall. The only time Umbreon falls short is if opposing Pokemon use Counter , so watch out for this particular attack.

Best Team For Pokemon Go Great League

35 WINS IN A ROW * GO BATTLE LEAGUE * GREAT LEAGUE ...

Pokemon Gos Great League has a max CP of 1500.

One of the most common teams Trainers use in the Great League is Azumarill, Galarian Stunfisk, and Abomasnow, as these are three of the strongest fighters and will offer good coverage against most of the major Great League opponents.

Its hard to say what a definitive best team for the Great League looks like, though, as youll never know what types youll be up against. For example, a strong Azumarill can make light work of Bastiodon, but it will likely fall down against Venusaur.

Despite this, there are some Pokemon that are solid options in almost any situation. Choose a few different types from our recommendations below for optimal coverage, and you should be on your way to victory.

Sableye’s Typing Makes It Untouchable

Sableye is a Dark- and Ghost type Pokemon. At Level 50, it has a Max CP of 1,668, an Attack of 141, a Defense of 136, and a Stamina of 137. Its best Quick move is Shadow Claw . It has four great Charge moves: Foul Play , Power Gem , Return , and Shadow Sneak .

Sableye has good offensive and defensive capabilities in the Great League. Its Dark/Ghost typing gives it an edge since Sableye is only weak to Fairy type and is immune to Fighting, Psychic, and Normal type moves. Players can rely on it surviving most damage while dishing out an array of fantastic attacks.

Pokmon Go Battle League Season 9 Special Cups And Leagues Explained

There are a number of special cups and leagues for you to partake in throughout Season 9 of the Go Battle League. Some of these cups, like the Halloween Cup, have already run in previous years.

The first is the Great League Remix, which runs during the first Great League from Monday, 30th August to Monday, 13th September. For this cup, you’ll be unable to select the Pokémon which were most used in the Great League by players at the Ace Rank or above last season.

The second special Cup is the Ultra League Remix, which, like the Great League Remix, bans a selection of Pokémon that were most used in the Ultra League by players with the Ace Rank or above last season. You’ll be able to compete in the Ultra League Remix from Monday, 13th September to Monday, 27th September.

Next is the Master League Classic which runs during the first dedicated Master League period for Season 9 – Monday, 27th September to Monday, 11th October.

If you want to partake in this league you must ensure none of the Pokémon in your team have been powered up with Candy XL.

The Little Jungle Cup is the first new special cup for Season 9 and will run from Monday, 27th September to Monday, 11th October.

For this cup you’re only allowed to use bug, dark, electric, flying, grass, ground and poison-type Pokémon or are a combination of these types. The Pokémon you choose must meet or be beneath the CP limit of 500 and can evolve. It’s important to note, however, that you can’t use Shuckle or Smeargle.

Earning Go Battle League Sets In The Pokmon Go Battle League

Until further notice, walking will not be required to unlock Battle Sets

Battles in the Pokémon Go Battle League come in five Battle increments called Go Battle League Sets. The first of these Sets is free, but each Set after that has to be earned and/or purchased. To earn a Go Battle League Set, you need to walk five KM, but you also have the option of paying Poké Coins to speed this up. Even if you pay to Battle early, you still need to walk at least 2 KM, so players who sink lots of money into the game will still have to work for their Battle Sets.

Players can earn up to five Sets each day. However, each Set requires walking another 5 KM, so participation really requires keeping active and playing a lot. You can see your progress towards earning your next Set in the Battle Menu, and the app also notifies you when you’ve earned another Set.

How To Make And Save A Great League Team In Pokemon Go

Don’t Sleep on Registeel in Great League for Pokémon GO Battle League!

The steps in this guide were performed on an iPhone 11 in iOS 13.5.1. I am using the most current version of the Pokemon Go app available when this article was written.

Step 1: Open Pokemon Go.

Step 2: Touch the Pokeball icon at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3: Choose the Battle option.

Step 4: Select the Party tab at the top-right of the screen.

Step 5: Touch the + icon to the right of Great League.

Step 6: Give your team a name, then touch OK.

Step 7: Tap the leftmost gray + button.

Step 8: Select your three Pokemon, then touch the Done button at the bottom of the screen.

These teams are saved locally to the device. If you sign into your Pokemon Go on another device, your team isnt going to be there.

As mentioned earlier, choosing the Pokemon for your team is a surprisingly deep and complex task. You will want to consider the typings for your Pokemon, as well as their moves. Other Pokemon on your team will ideally cover the weaknesses for your other Pokemon.

For example, if your first Pokemon is a water type Pokemon, then that means it is weak to grass. If your opponents first Pokemon is a grass type, or if they switch to a grass type Pokemon, then you should have a Pokemon to counter that. For example, a flying or fire type Pokemon could be strong against that type of Pokemon.

Pokmon Go Battle League Rewards

As you climb through each Season’s in the Go Battle League, you’ll find yourself being rewarded in a number of way. This includes set win rewards, Pokémon encounters and rewards for progressing to new a Rank.

The specifics of rewards, especially the Pokémon encounters, tend to change from season to season, so it’s always a good idea to read through this section at the beginning of each season, so that you know what’s waiting for you.

Rank-rewards

Rank-rewards are, as the name suggests, the rewards you receive for progressing to a new rank in the Go Battle League. These rewards often include useful items, like Potions, and Stardust.

Season 6 heralded a number of important changes for the Go Battle League and one of them was to the rank-rewards.

Under the new Ranking system, a number of ranks now only require you to complete one set of battles, be it win or lose, for you to progress to the next rank. These ranks have also been given specific reward tracks, which means you’re guaranteed a certain type of reward for completing them.

Below you can find these special ranks and the type of rewards you’ll receive for completing them:

  • Rank 5 – Mystery items
  • Rank 19 – Pokémon encounters and an Elite Fast TM

Go League set win rewards

Each set contains five matches, and you earn more rewards for each subsequent win, allowing you to win a total of five rewards if you win every match.

Possible rewards in both tracks include:

Using The Move Rankings

Each Pokemon has a pool of Fast Moves and a pool of Charged Moves. Some moves might be better in one battle, and other moves might be better in another. For Trainer Battles, you’ll want know which moves will be the best ones to have in the most matchups. You might also want to know which Pokemon are the best candidates for a second Charged Move. The move details within each Pokemon ranking can help you determine that.

Moves are ranked using calculations primarily based on their damage and energy cost. Stat changes are also factored in. These calculations are run for each matchup, and then totaled across the format. Matchup weighting affects these numbers as well, so moves that would be used against significant meta targets will rank higher.

When looking at potential moves, keep an eye out for Pokemon that have a strong tendency toward a single Fast Move and a single Charged Move. These Pokemon will have their optimal moveset in the most matchups. On the other hand, some Pokemon see more balanced usage in their Charged Moves. This is where having a second Charged Move comes into play.

As an exercise, select any one Pokemon in the Team Builder tool and compare its battle histograms when it has one Charged Move and when it has two. If a second Charged Move improves its matchups, it might be one worth investing in.

Using The Pokemon Rankings

BEST POKÉMON TO USE IN GO BATTLE LEAGUE

In the top-level rankings, you’ll see a score for each Pokemon. This score is an overall performance number from 0 to 100, where 100 is the best Pokemon in that league and category. It is derived from simulating every possible matchup, with each Pokemon’s most used moveset . Use this score to compare overall performance between Pokemon; for example, the difference between the #1 and #50 Pokemon may not be the same as the difference between the #50 and #100 Pokemon. This score also allows you to see the parity in different leagues and categories.

Trainer Battles feature a wide variety of scenarios, especially involving shields. In order to give a fuller picture, our overall rankings are derived from additional sets of rankings, where battles are simulated with different roles in mind. You can explore rankings for each of the following categories:

Different Pokemon may succeed in different scenarios, so use these categories to help determine when a particular Pokemon would be the most valuable.

Within each ranking, you’ll see four separate detail sections:

  • Fast Moves – Which Fast Moves the Pokemon uses most in the league and category.
  • Charged Moves – Which Charged Moves the Pokemon uses most in the league and category.
  • Key Wins – Which battles the Pokemon performs best in, weighed by the opponent’s overall score.
  • Key Counters – Which significant opponents perform best against the Pokemon.

Pokmon Go Battle League Rank Requirements

Go Battle League has you progress through 24 Ranks per Season. This number was increased from 10 on November 30th 2020, alongside the release of Season 6 of the Go Battle League and the Season of Celebrations.

Each Rank requires a different objective for you to progress, and each one also has it’s own set of rewards.

From Season 6 onwards, you’ll need to participate and win a number of battles to progress from Rank 1 to Rank 20.

Certain ranks will be easier to overcome than others, because they will only require you to complete one set of battles to progress. This means that, even if you only win one battle out of five, you’ll still progress to the next rank.

The Ranks that only require you to complete one battle set are – Rank 5, Rank 10, Rank 15 and Rank 19.

If you wish to climb from Rank 21 to Rank 24, however, you need to obtain a certain rating by remaining undefeated for a certain number of matches.

Each Rank from 21 to 24 also has it’s own specific title – Ace, Veteran, Expert and Legend – which not only helps you identify which rating you need to achieve, but gives you some good bragging rights too.

Below you can find which title has been assigned to each rank, alongside the rating you’ll need to progress to that specific rank:

  • Rank 21 – Ace – 2,000 rating
  • Rank 22 – Veteran – 2,500 rating
  • Rank 23 – Expert – 2,750 rating
  • Rank 24 – Legend – 3,000 rating
