How To Transfer To Pokemon Home From Ds 3ds Switch And Pokemon Go

How to Transfer From Pokemon GO to Pokemon Home

Now that Pokemon Home is out, youll probably want to transfer Pokemon from your Game Boy, DS, 3DS, Switch, Pokemon Go, and Pokemon Bank to the new service. Well, its just as complicated to bring old Pokemon to Pokemon Home as it was to transfer them to the Pokemon Bank when it came out. Youll still have to have a flowchart and use workarounds to get all your Pokemon to Pokemon Home.

Yes, you can transfer all your Pokemon to Pokemon Home from as far back as the Game Boy Advance games. However, this isnt very easy because you cant just bring them directly into the app. There are also two versions of Pokemon Home, the Switch app, and the mobile app that each have different capabilities.

Ivs Change When You Trade

Almost certainly to discourage cheaters, Pokémon traded in Go get a change to their IVs and stats. This prevents players from “selling” 100% IV Pokémon, while the limits on Trading prevent players from constantly “rerolling” for better IVs.

However, the higher your Friendship level, the higher potential IV you can get from a Trade. This, along with the reduced Stardust cost encourages Trading between actual friends.

How To Use The Go Transporter In Pokemon Go

The actual act of transferring your Pokemon takes place in a new menu option called the Go Transporter. To access it, you need to go to the settings menu in Pokemon Go. Scroll down a bit until you see a list of devices near the bottom. This is where you would also go to connect to a Nintendo Switch for the Pokemon Let’s Go games or a Pokemon Go Plus. There should be an option labeled Pokemon Home. Click on it – the first time you do it will ask you to sign in with your Nintendo account. Once that’s sorted, you can hit “Send Pokemon” to begin.

From here the menu should look familiar. Just select any Pokemon you wish to transfer, they’ll be highlighted in green.

How Do You Transfer Pokemon From The Game Boy Advance Games To Pokemon Home

To transfer Pokemon to Pokemon Home from the Game Boy Advance games, youll need to start the process with a Nintendo DS or DS Lite. Youll need to insert your GBA game in the correct slot and then launch one of the fourth-gen Pokemon games on the DS.

Youll need to meet the following requirements in the fourth-gen games to transfer Pokemon GBA to DS:

  • Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum: Youll need to have access to the Pal Park on Route 221. This can be accomplished by seeing all 150 of the Sinnoh Pokemon.
  • HeartGold and SoulSilver: Youll need to have opened the Pal Park in Fuchsia City. The park opens once youve defeated the Kanto Elite Four.

Once the Pal Park is open, you can head there to move up to six Pokemon at a time from your GBA carts to your DS saves. Once youve done that, youre ready for the next step in the process.

How To Trade In Pokmon Go: Increasing Friendship Level

Trading much like battling, participating in raids and exchanging gifts with your in-game friends increases your friendship level. Overall, there are four levels of friendship that you can achieve with another player: Good Friend, Great Friend, Ultra Friend, and Best Friend.

As mentioned above, in order to perform your first trade, both of you need to be Good Friends, which isn’t hard to achieve at all . You can become Good Friends in no time by giving each other just one gift.

In order to do so, collect special gifts that you can receive at any Pokéstop. These gifts cannot be used for anything other than sending to your friends. In order to give your added friend a gift, simply tap on your avatar > select the “friends” tab > pick a friend > tap “send gift.” One thing to note is that you can only send one gift a day per friend. Giving gifts also builds up your trainer level.

However, if you intend to trade with your in-game friend for a Pokémon that you haven’t previously caught, you’ll have to upgrade your friendship level to at least Great Friends.;So you might want to try battling and participating in raids together in addition to exchanging gifts in order to quickly progress to that level.

How To Use Trade Rooms

We explained the basics of the Room Trade feature here, but theres clearly more than just hopping into a room together and swapping creatures. These Trade Rooms are basically mini Wonder Trade systems in a way, and theres a lot of things that can be quite confusing. So lets get into the nitty gritty, starting with your choices for how to manage Trade Rooms.

After selecting the Room Trade feature you can either start your own public room, join one with a code, scan someones code to join them, or join a random open room. No matter which you choose the system will perform similarly. First off, each room can either be setup where you see which Pokémon the other players have picked, or they are kept hidden.

After everyone loads up into the same Trade Room a timer will count down to when you can pick the Pokémon you wish to trade. Let it expire then pick whichever character youre willing to give up. The other players will do the same, and once they do or the timer runs out all the Pokémon will be jumbled together and passed out to all the players. So basically, if you have five trainers in a Trade Room you are performing a random, Wonder Trade with only those five players.

And thats how to use trade rooms in Pokémon Home.

Can I Use Pokmon Home To Transfer My Original Gen 1 And 2 Pokmon From Pokmon Red / Blue / Yellow / Gold / Silver / Crystal On Game Boy To Pokmon Sword And Shield

Unfortunately, no. The Pokémon you first caught two decades ago are forever trapped on those original Game Boy cartridges or on Pokémon Stadium. Of course, using various shady tactics and compromised hardware, enterprising Poké Trainers have been known to dump their original saves from the Game Boy carts, upload them to the 3DS Virtual Console versions of Pokémon Red and Blue, and then move those to Pokémon Bank, but we shall not delve into those dark arts here.

No, it seems that ‘Stinkypoo’ the Pikachu, ‘Wormy’ the Weedle and ‘Metapoo’ the Metapod will die on our Game Boy carts along with the battery. Probably for the best, to be honest.

UPDATE: The full guide from Niantic on how to transfer from Pokemon Go to Pokemon Home can be found below, however, it should be noted that only level 40 Trainers can use the system for now.

A message from Niantic confirms: “Level 40 Trainers can now send Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME! Stay tuned as we continue to roll this feature out to more Trainers.”

ORIGINAL: Developers Niantic and the Pokemon Company have confirmed how they plan to transfer Pokemon Goto Pokemon Home.

For those that dont know what it is, Pokemon Home is a dedicated cloud service which allows trainers to store and transfer Pokemon from different games.

It means you can put your favourite Pocket Monsters together and make your perfect lineup, built from generations of hard work.

And it was announced just this week that Pokemon Go Home Transfers would soon be available to fans.

It should be noted that Pokemon being sent away to the Home cloud via the new Go Transporter, are making a one-way trip, as they cannot return PoGo after the transfer is complete.

There are also large limitations on how long it takes Pokemon to be transferred, and the amount of energy required to send certain Pokemon.

Transferring Pokmon From Go To Home

Once your accounts are linked, you can transfer Pokémon using the Go Transporter. To do this, go to your settings, select Pokémon Home, and hit Send Pokémon.

From here, you can select any of the Pokémon you want to move. Keep in mind that you cannot transfer hat- or costume-wearing Pokémon, as well as Shadow or Mega Evolved Pokémon.

You can only transfer a limited number of Pokemon, as the Go Transporter only has a certain amount of energy. The energy recharges over time, but you can also opt to spend 1,000 Pokécoins to fill it back up instantly. It takes a little bit less than one week to refill the Go Transporter when its completely empty.

Transferring a Shiny Pokémon or Mythical Pokémon costs about 1/4 of the bar, and transferring a Shiny Legendary Pokémon depletes the entire bar. Transferring a regular Legendary Pokémon costs less than 1/6 of the bar.

You can only transfer Legendary Pokémon to Sword and Shield if youve already obtained them in that game, so dont get your hopes up if youre just trying to quickly complete your Pokédex.

If the Pokémon has a higher combat power, it will also cost a bit more.
