Pokémon GO Level 42 Tasks and Rewards

Level-up Tasks
Evolve an Eevee next to a Pokestop that has an active Mossy Lure;on it. Rea

Hopefully, that clears things up nicely but dont get caught out by changing your current buddy before evolving it. The Eevee that you have walked 10km with MUST BE your buddy when you hit evolve otherwise you will end up with another Vaporeaon, Jolteon or Flareon and left feeling deflated.

Use items to evolve Pokémon 15 times

You can obtain evolution items from your 7-Day PokéStop spin, Go Battle league battles and rarely from regular PokéStop spins. The list of items you can use is as follows:

Make 3 Excellent Throws

Find Pokémon with larger catching circles like Wailmer, Ponyta, Slowbro and Legendary Pokémon to make this easier. Its not easy at all to consistently land Excellent throws, but these dont have to be done in a row.

Use 200 Berries to help catch Pokémon

A pretty straightforward task.;Community Days will be your best bet to complete this one as well. Throw a Pinap berry or Razz berry at every Pokémon before catching it. Spin Stops and Gyms, open Gifts and complete Raids to get more berries as you progress through the task.

Tap As Fast As You Can

The Fast Attack is going to be your best friend in a battle. Tapping the screen will make your Pokémon attack the other using their Fast Attack, and it’ll power up their Charged Attack. Tapping rapidly means more damage and your Pokémon’s Charged Attack powering up faster so it can be used.

People often make the mistake of thinking damage taken is what’s powering up the Charged Attack, but it’s not.

Lighten Your Load Throw Away Potions

If you’re anything like us, you shoot from the hip and let Pokeballs fly where they may. And, if you’re anything like us, eventually, you’re going to run out of Pokeballs that way. And if you stroll by a Pokestop, chances are your bag will be full and you will be unable to collect more Pokeballs! Well, don’t let that stop you. Just open your inventory and chuck some potions. Chances are you don’t need 99 of every Potion type, so get rid of some and you’ll get your Pokeballs back in no timeso long as you stroll by more Pokestops, or wait around for them to refresh.

How To Battle In Pokmon Go: The Basics

  • Unlike Raid and Gym battles, PvP battles require you to pick three Pokémon
  • You have the option to swap between the chosen three Pokémon mid-battle
  • Battles aren’t turn-based unlike other games in the franchise
  • You inflict damage by tapping your phone’s screen to perform Fast Moves
  • You can also use Charge Moves by swiftly swiping across your screen
  • Use Protect Shields in order to defend your Pokémon, though you can only use two for the duration of the battle
  • All PvP battles are timed, so if both Trainers have Pokémon remaining when the battle ends, the winning Trainer will be the one who has more Pokémon available. However, if both Trainers have an equal amount of Pokémon available, the winner is determined by the amount of HP remaining at the end of the battle

Doesn’t Matter If You Win Or Lose

You’ll still get rewards from PvP battles even if you lose! This means that if your main goal here is item collection, you needn’t stress out about your battle results.

More Berries Than Ever

We explained in;our primer;that razz berries are items you can feed a Pokemon to slow it down before you capture it. Updates have introduced multiple types of berries that each have different effects.Nanab Berries: Use these berries to slow down a wild Pokemon’s movements. Strategic use of these can be key to capturing a particularly elusive ‘Mon.Pinap Berries: These double the amount of Candy you get as a reward if your next attempt to capture a Pokemon succeeds. It’s a bit of a risk though, because if you fail to capture your next target the berry goes to waste.Razz Berries: Mechanics haven’t changed here. Razz Berries can still be fed to a wild Pokemon to make it easier to catch.Golden Razz Berries: Like their less shiny cousins, the Golden Razz Berries have the same function of making it easy to capture wild Pokemon, but are much more powerful. You can use berries in tandem with a stronger Pokeball to catch particularly feisty or extremely rare Pokemon that cross your path. However, don’t use multiple berries at a time since their effects don’t stack. One of the aspiring trainers right here in the PCMag Labs caught themselves a Dragonair doing just that. Feed the Pokemon a razz berry, take out a Great Ball, give it some good arc on your throw, and catching just got a whole lot easier.

Pokmon Go Battle League Rewards

As you climb through each Season’s in the Go Battle League, you’ll find yourself being rewarded in a number of way. This includes set win rewards, Pokémon encounters and rewards for progressing to new a Rank.

The specifics of rewards, especially the Pokémon encounters, tend to change from season to season, so it’s always a good idea to read through this section at the beginning of each season, so that you know what’s waiting for you.

Rank-rewards

Rank-rewards are, as the name suggests, the rewards you receive for progressing to a new rank in the Go Battle League. These rewards often include useful items, like Potions, and Stardust.

Season 6 heralded a number of important changes for the Go Battle League and one of them was to the rank-rewards.

Under the new Ranking system, a number of ranks now only require you to complete one set of battles, be it win or lose, for you to progress to the next rank. These ranks have also been given specific reward tracks, which means you’re guaranteed a certain type of reward for completing them.

Below you can find these special ranks and the type of rewards you’ll receive for completing them:

  • Rank 5 – Mystery items
  • Rank 19 – Pokémon encounters and an Elite Fast TM

Go League set win rewards

Each set contains five matches, and you earn more rewards for each subsequent win, allowing you to win a total of five rewards if you win every match.

Possible rewards in both tracks include:

All Go League Rank Encounters

Get Gold In All The Medals

Pokémon Go offers bronze, silver, and gold medals for achieving certain goals.

The first set of medals are for achievements. You get them for walking, registering Pokémon to your Pokédex, capturing Pokémon, evolving Pokémon, hatching Pokémon, visiting PokéStops, battling in Gyms, training in Gyms, catching tiny Rattata, catching Pikachu, and catching big Magikarp.

Earning them is their own reward, because Pokémon Go currently offers nothing else. Still, not everyone will walk, catch, hatch, evolve, battle and train that much, so there are bragging rights at least.

The second set of medals are for catching but by Pokémon type: Normal, flying, poison, earth, rock, bug, ghost, fire, water, grass, electric, psychic, fairy, fighting, steel, ice, and dragon. As you go through bronze, silver, and gold, you get bonuses to catch those types of Pokémon: x1.1, x1.2, and x1.3 respectively. Since Pokémon Gen 1 has only one steel type, only three dragon type, and only a handful of ice type, getting some of the medals can be a real challenge.

Getting all the medals yeah, thats a win.

Preparing For The Great And Ultra Leagues

Can you beat Hop with Level 1 Team? – Low Level Battle – Pokemon Sword and Shield

Before engaging in battle, you’ll choose to compete in oneof three different leagues that determine the maximum CP each Pokémon in yourparty may have. In the Great League, the maximum CP per Pokémon is 1,500. NoPokémon over 2,500 CP may be used in the Ultra League, while any Pokémon can beused in the Master League. Pokémon of the same CP will perform relativelysimilarly in battle, greatly expanding the pool of first-rate combatants in theGreat and Ultra Leagues.

If you’re hoping to use your favorite Pokémon in battleagainst other players without feeling at a disadvantage, these two leagues are absolutely the place for it. Butthere’s still plenty of optimizations you can make with your team if you’relooking to get ahead.

Most Pokémon can hit 1,500 CP, so you’ll have an incredible numberof options available to you in the Great League. Pokémon with lower maximum CPand tricky type combinations, such as Lanturn, could be great choices to messwith your opponents’ strategies. You could even consider Pokémon that aren’tfully evolved that may have stronger moves than their Evolutions!

Charging Up Charge Attacks

Charge up is a new mechanic that is available once you activate your charge attack. During charge up, the attacker is given 3 seconds to furiously tap the screen in order to increase the moves potential damage output , while the defender has 3 seconds to decide whether or not he should use a Protect Shield to mitigate the attack.

Anecdotally, charging up a charge move seems to increase its damage output by roughly 20%, but this is still up in the air and not final numbers by any means.

Protect Shields Charged Attacks And Switching

There’s more to Pokémon GO Trainer Battles than tappingattacks and hoping your Pokémon end up on top. Assembling a strong team is agood start, but you’ll need to outperform your opponent in battle to win. Youhave three main tools to manipulate the outcome of a battleProtect Shields,Charged Attacks, and switching Pokémon.

You’ll have only a limited number of Protect Shields to usein a Trainer Battle, and how you use them will have a huge impact on whetheryou win or lose. Protect Shields can block your opponent’s Charged Attacks, butyou won’t have enough to defend all your Pokémon. Be smart about when you useProtect Shieldsif your active Pokémon is already about to be knocked out, orif it’s healthy and resists your opponent’s Charged Attacks, you probably don’tneed to use a Protect Shield. But if your active Pokémon is vital to defeatingthe rest of your opponent’s team, you should defend it with a Protect Shield.

On offense, you’ll want to force your opponent to use theirProtect Shields as quickly as you can to remove their ability to defend. Lineup Charged Attacks that are sure to deal huge damage. Try to maintain matchupswhere you’ll be able to use a supereffective Charged Attackor at least onethat matches your Pokémon’s type and isn’t resisted by the opponent’s type.

What’s In A Nickname Change It

Changing your nickname is easy-peasy. Just tap the Pokeball on the main screen at the bottom > Settings > tap Change Nickname. You’ll get a warning that you can only change your nickname once, so choose wisely, and make it count! And make sure it’s at least PG-rated because other Trainers are going to see it.

Cp Is More Accurate Than Level

Pokemon GO PvP Battles

A Pokémon with a CP that is too low is the first to be booted from a Gym, so this CP value had to be accurate. While CP calculations arent perfect, the CP definitely depicts a Pokémons strength much more accurately than Level does.

For example, a Weedle and a Charizard can both be level 40, but that doesnt mean that they are equivalent in fighting prowess. The system in Pokémon GO conveniently takes all these statistical differences into account, and wraps it all neatly into one number.;There are three stats found in GO: Stamina , Attack, and Defense. From data-mining, we know all of the base values for each Pokémon. Charizard has a base Stamina of 156, an Attack of 212, and a Defense of 182. Weedle, meanwhile, sits at 80 Stamina, 68 Attack, and 64 Defense. Even if these two Pokémon are the same level, their strength will be wildly different due to their base stats. If you sort your Pokemon by CP, you see a Pokémons true strength. If you could instead sort by Level, you would still have that much more mental sorting to do. In this regard, the CP system is very helpful, and far superior.

Trade Lots Of Pokemon To Get Lucky Ones

From now on, when you trade Pokemon, there’s a chance for them to become Lucky. That means they require less Stardust to power up than regular Pokemon. This makes them easier to train up to become powerful. Every trade won’t result in a lucky Pokemon, but there’s always a chance to get one, so there’s no better time than now to add a friend and try your luck.

Combat Points Versus Level

Combat Points provide an at-a-glance idea of how strong a Pokémon is in battle. It is important to the mechanics of the game because Pokémon are ordered by strength in Gyms based on this value. Some people ask why the developers decided to make the CP so visible instead of the more familiar Level mechanic. Here are some of the reasons why.
