HOW TO Organize Boxes in Pokemon HOME

To begin using the service for storage, simply download the app on Switch, agree to the various terms and conditions and get acquainted with Grand Oak.

From the main menu you can immediately select your copy of Pokémon Sword or Shield and begin transferring Pokémon between Boxes.

You’ll find a gift Pikachu waiting for you in your Pokémon HOME box. Once connected, you’ll be able to transfer compatible Pokémon between the game and the app at will, using standard buttons in docked mode or dragging and dropping via the touchscreen in handheld mode to easily sort your Pokémon. Pressing the ‘-‘ button at any time will call up Poké Boy who will offer tips and explanations.

Hitting the ‘+’ button will enable you to save the changes to your boxes and return to the main menu. Pokémon HOME will list your Pokémon according to their National Pokédex number with the option to separate out each region. If a Pokémon has Mega Evolve or Gigantamax forms, they too will be shown.

Note: You’ll have to actually transfer the Pokémon to Pokémon HOME for it to register in the Pokédex – Pokémon contained in boxes in-game won’t be registered.

The Mobile version of the app displays even more information such as their abilities and the moves they can learn.

What Happens When Your Pokmon Home Premium Subscription Expires

Though Pokémon Home has a free option, as shown above, there is a premium tier which expand the number of Pokémon you can deposit – from 30 to a whopping 6,000.

The question is – what happens to those Pokémon when your Pokémon Home subscription runs out? Here’s The Pokémon’s Company official statement on what happens:

“If you deposit 31 or more Pokémon in Pokémon Home while you have the Premium Plan, and your plan then changes to the no-cost Basic Plan, you will not be able to view or withdraw any Pokémon beyond the 30th Pokémon you deposited.

Do I Need To Purchase A Pokmon Home Premium Plan For Both The Nintendo Switch And The Smart Device App If I Want To Use Both

No, you only need to purchase one Premium Plan. Your Pokémon HOME Premium Plan is tied to your Nintendo Account. Once you have linked your Nintendo Account to the Nintendo Switch and mobile device versions of Pokémon HOME, you can use the Premium Plan features on either device.

Please note that the Premium Plan is for one Nintendo Account. If there are multiple users on a Nintendo Switch console, each player will need to purchase their own Premium Plan if they want to use those extra features.

What Is Pokemon Home

Pokemon Home is a cloud-based system where you will be able to store all your Pokemon you caught in various Pokemon Go games. It works seamlessly with all core games of Pokemon Go. Although this is the case, there are certain restrictions put in place. You can transfer a certain type of Pokemon, and there is a limit on the number of Pokemon that can be stored in the allocated;storage space. Also, there will be restrictions on where a Pokemon can be transferred after it is in your Pokemon Home account. Even though you can transfer Pokemon from various core games, you will only be able to transfer out a particular Pokemon into Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield and those species must be;available in the Galar region Pokédex or Pokémon added during the DLC expansion pass, Isle of Armor, and Crown Tundra. In the next section, we will look at how to get the Mystery Box in Pokemon Go.

Don’t Forget The Select Functions

Another function in the PC that shouldn’t be overlooked is the multiselect feature. By pressing Y twice, you’ll notice that your selection arrow turns green from the normal red. This allows you to mass-select Pokemon and move them all at once.

When trying to move around multiple Pokemon at once, this is a complete lifesaver. If you’re interested in saving time while moving one Pokemon at a time, the second option in the rotation, with the blue arrow, will select a Pokemon instantly, rather than the red normal option which you have to click twice to pick up a Pokemon.

This worked just like transferring Pokémon to Professor Willow, giving players the chance to earn Candy for each Pokémon they sent.

Niantic has now expanded the process to include transferring Pocket Monsters from Pokemon Go, to Pokemon Home. So during the new event, you can obtain the Mystery Box by sending a Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon: Lets Go, Pikachu!, Pokémon: Lets Go, Eevee!, or Pokémon HOME.

Once youve activated the Mystery Box, youll have to wait three days and send another Pokémon to Pokémon: Lets Go, Pikachu!, Pokémon: Lets Go, Eevee!, or Pokémon HOME before you can activate it again, regardless of how you obtained it.

A few additional instructions on how to complete a transfer from Pokemon Go to Pokemon Home can be found below:

“Tap Send Pokémon from the Pokémon HOME section in the Pokémon GO Settings menu to access the GO Transporter. The GO Transporter uses GO Transporter Energy to send Pokémon to Pokémon HOME, and the amount of energy required depends on the Pokémon being sent. Select the Pokémon youd like to send to see how much energy will be required.

“The GO Transporter will be fully charged the first time you send a Pokémon to Pokémon HOME, and afterwards, it will automatically accumulate energy over time. You can also charge your GO Transporter immediately by using PokéCoins.

Can I Use Pokmon Home To Transfer My Original Gen 1 And 2 Pokmon From Pokmon Red / Blue / Yellow / Gold / Silver / Crystal On Game Boy To Pokmon Sword And Shield

Unfortunately, no. The Pokémon you first caught two decades ago are forever trapped on those original Game Boy cartridges or on Pokémon Stadium. Of course, using various shady tactics and compromised hardware, enterprising Poké Trainers have been known to dump their original saves from the Game Boy carts, upload them to the 3DS Virtual Console versions of Pokémon Red and Blue, and then move those to Pokémon Bank, but we shall not delve into those dark arts here.

No, it seems that ‘Stinkypoo’ the Pikachu, ‘Wormy’ the Weedle and ‘Metapoo’ the Metapod will die on our Game Boy carts along with the battery. Probably for the best, to be honest.

What Is Meltan And The Mystery Box

How To Get More PC Storage Boxes In Pokemon Sword and Shield

Meltan is a Mythical Steel type Pokémon that was originally introduced in Pokémon Go. It was the first of its kind as all other Pokémon have been introduced in either the core games or through the Pokémon animation. Meltan has very limited availability and its evolution, Melmetal can still only be evolved in Pokémon Go. Up until recently, there were only two ways Trainers could catch this Mythical Pokémon: Special Research or linking your Pokémon Go account to Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Let’s Go, Eevee!.

Now, players have an additional means of catching Meltan. You can earn a Mystery Box that can open once per week by linking your Pokémon Go and Pokémon HOME accounts. The Mystery Box will act like an Incense but specifically for Meltan, luring dozens of the tiny Hex Nut Pokémon to your location for one hour. It takes time to recharge, but once the timer has run out, you can transfer another Pokémon to HOME and earn yourself another hour of Meltan spawns. If you happen to use your Mystery Box during certain events you can even catch yourself a Shiny Meltan!

Transferring Pokmon From Pokmon Home To Pokmon Sword And Shield

You can only transfer Pokémon that you can catch in Pokémon Sword and Shield from Pokémon Home into those games. That means you cant transfer Pokémon like Wurmple to Pokémon Sword and Shield, but they can stay in Pokémon Home indefinitely, so long as you pay your subscription fees.

Mythical Pokémon like Mew and Victini can only transfer to Pokémon Sword and Shield if you already have a legitimate version of that Pokémon in your Pokédex. These Pokémon have been available through events for a number of years, but if you missed out youll need to trade with a friend before you can transfer a mythical Pokémon to the main series game.

If you need any other help catching legendaries, check out our exhaustive Pokémon Sword and Shield legendary Pokémon guide, or if the mobile game is more your thing, keep up to date with the latest Pokémon Go events, like Community Days;and Limited Research, or check out our Pokémon Go raids;guide to make sure you dont miss out on any powerful Pokémon.

Transferring Pokmon From Go To Home

How to trade Pokémon in Pokémon Home

Once your accounts are linked, you can transfer Pokémon using the Go Transporter. To do this, go to your settings, select Pokémon Home, and hit Send Pokémon.

From here, you can select any of the Pokémon you want to move. Keep in mind that you cannot transfer hat- or costume-wearing Pokémon, as well as Shadow or Mega Evolved Pokémon.

You can only transfer a limited number of Pokemon, as the Go Transporter only has a certain amount of energy. The energy recharges over time, but you can also opt to spend 1,000 Pokécoins to fill it back up instantly. It takes a little bit less than one week to refill the Go Transporter when its completely empty.

Transferring a Shiny Pokémon or Mythical Pokémon costs about 1/4 of the bar, and transferring a Shiny Legendary Pokémon depletes the entire bar. Transferring a regular Legendary Pokémon costs less than 1/6 of the bar.

You can only transfer Legendary Pokémon to Sword and Shield if youve already obtained them in that game, so dont get your hopes up if youre just trying to quickly complete your Pokédex.

If the Pokémon has a higher combat power, it will also cost a bit more.

What Is Pokmon Home All Pokmon Home Features Explained

Pokémon Home is a cloud-based service being developed by The Pokémon Company where you’ll be able to transfer and store your Pokémon from mainline and other entries of the series, which will be available to view on smartphone devices and Nintendo Switch.

It is, essentially, the evolved form of Pokémon Bank.

There are essentially three key features of Pokémon Home – collecting, trading and transfers.

Pokémon Home Collecting

Pokémon Home allows you to amass your collection of Pokémon between games, and has a series of features to help support it:

  • A National Pokédex will track your entries, including Mega Evolve and Gigantamax forms
  • Mystery Gifts can be received for Sword and Shield, as well as additional ones specific to Home
  • A ‘Your Room’ section allowing you to look at news about connected games and collect stickers for your profile based on completing Home-specific challenges
  • Mobile-specific features, including searching Pokémon by ability or move; see progress on Ranked Battles and Online Competitions in Pokémon Sword and Shield, and look at Trainer battle data and popular moves used in competitions
  • Earn Pokémon Home Points, which increase as you deposit more Pokémon, and can be exchanged for BP in core Pokémon games

Pokémon Home Trading

As well as the ability to transfer Pokémon to Home to other Pokémon games, Pokémon Home will also allow you to trade Pokémon with other Home users – whether they’re your friends and anyone else around the world.

Isle Of Armor And Crown Tundra Boxes

With two expansions adding around a hundred Pokemon each, you’ve probably got a ton of new ‘mons to store. The PC fills up fast as it is, but you’ll need even more organization now that there are so many more Pokemon.

It’s also hard to remember which returning Pokemon are from the base game and who came back in the DLC. It could be wise to create particular boxes for each DLC pack. This can help you store what you need to evolve for the Pokedex, if nothing else.

How To Transfer Pokmon Between Pokmon Go Pokmon Home And Pokmon Sword And Shield

If youve caught some of your favourite monsters in Pokémon Go, Pokémon Home is the only way you can transfer them to Pokémon Sword and Shield on your Switch. Pokémon Home has functioned as a go-between for transferring Pokémon between main series games for almost a year now, but it is finally compatible with Pokémon Go, the series biggest mobile game.

Once youve connected the two games and sent some Pokémon from Pokémon Go, Pokémon Home will show theyve arrived immediately. However, this guide will help you every step of the way, because it can get fiddly. Like with transferring Pokémon to the Go Park Complex in Pokémon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee, the process is a little bit complicated to set up, so take your time with it and follow the steps to ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible.

Well also cover Transporter energy, and how much energy different Pokémon cost to transfer between the two games. There are a few rules depending on what Pokémon youre transferring and how powerful it is, so refer to the table below for a quick breakdown.

What Are Mystery Gifts

How To Get MORE Storage Boxes In Pokémon Sword & Shield! | EASY Trick To Get 32 PC Storage Boxes!

These gifts are only accessible via the mobile version of Pokémon HOME and will be redeemable in either Sword and Shield or HOME.

Once Pokémon GO compatibility has been introduced sometime before the end of 2020, transferring a Pokémon from the mobile game to Sword or Shield will result in a Mystery Gift appearing in the mobile version of Pokémon Home a special Melmetal which can Gigantamax in the Switch game. Beware, though, because it’s not possible to transfer this Pokémon back to Pokémon GO once it has been moved to Pokémon Sword and Shield.

What Is Pokmon Home

Pokémon HOME is an app for Nintendo Switch and mobile devices that enables you to transfer compatible Pokémon from multiple previous games using the existing Pokémon Bank app to Pokémon Sword and Shield. You can also transfer compatible Pokémon from Pokémon GO, although that function isn’t yet available and is ‘coming soon’.

This infographic gives you an idea of how the app interacts with existing Pokémon games and services – we’ll explain how exactly below:

Simple.

Wonder Box In Pokemon Home

Now to talk about the mobile side of Pokemon Home. Where the Switch app is all about storing and sorting Pokemon, the mobile app is about trading Pokemon.

There are four different ways to trade Pokemon in Pokemon Home, but the most useful of which is Wonder Box trading. Wonder Box trading is similar to Wonder Trading on the 3DS or Surprise Trading in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Except instead of just one Pokemon, people who use the free app can only trade up to 3 Pokemon at a time, and people who pay for the premium service can trade up to 10 at a time.

The only downfall is that Wonder Box trading is not instantaneous, and in fact it can take several hours for a trade to be completed. While it is a neat way for trainers to collect a variety of Pokemon, it is still faster to Surprise Trade Pokemon than it is to wait for a Wonder Box to be traded.
