Pokemon Go Level 40 To 50 Requirements

Pokémon Go! How to level up FASTER!

Rather than simply having to earn a certain amount of XP to level up as is the case up to and including level 40, there are now some additional challenges attached to leveling up. As well as a huge XP requirement, each level between levels 41 and 50 has its own set of unique tasks attached to it. These can range from catching a certain number of Pokemon within a set period of time to beating difficult raids and trainer battles multiple times. Some of them can be incredibly time-consuming, although it’s definitely worth the extra effort.

As well as increasing the potential of your Pokemon, every new level will grant a selection of fantastic rewards, which include new poses and clothing for your avatar as well as the recently introduced XL Candy, which is needed to level up your Pokemon beyond level 40. There aren’t too many players who have been able to reach the big five-oh so far, but, now that the requirements are known, it shouldn’t take too long for 50 to become the new norm.

Pokmon Go Level Cap Increase And Other Levelling Changes Explained

From November 30th, 2020 as part of the Season of Celebration and Go Beyond update, came a much fan-requested update – a level cap increase, adding an additional 10 levels to the game from the previous level cap of 40 to the level cap of 50.

Alongside it comes a change to how levelling works. As well as meeting a certain threshold of XP, you also need to complete certain challenges – named Level Up Research – in order to progress to the next level.

This includes earning certain medal types, catching a number of Pokémon within a set period, completing raids and much more. This is designed to make the levelling process as much as about skill as it is simply earning XP.

That’s the broad strokes of the new levelling system. Here’s some other details worth knowing about how it will work:

  • As with levels 1 to 40, the CP cap of Pokémon will increase in line with your level. However, to level your Pokémon past level 40, you need to use a new resource type – XL Candy.
  • Any existing XP you have earned over Level 40 will contribute to the progress of future levels, meaning any additional XP reached once you hit your level will not go to waste, and will count when you complete the associated research and progress to the next level.

Additionally, hitting Level 40 before the end of the year will make you a Legacy Level 40 player – unlocking a special Legacy Level 40 medal as well as the Legacy 40 Challenge quest.

How Many Pokemon Go Levels Are There

In total, there are 40 levels in the Pokemon GO mobile game. Usually, reaching them rewards you with various Poke Balls and other items though some level milestones are required to unlock key gameplay functionality such as online battles.

Theres no easy way to grind Stardust, but making the most of your Star Pieces will be your best bet. Community Day events are a good source of Stardust, but be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Events that feature 2x and 4x Stardust rewards.

Use 200 Super-effective Charged Attacks

Gym battles: if possible, pair up with a few friends who are on a different team, take over a Gym, throw your Pokémon in and let your friends battle them down. Rinse and repeat while alternating Gym ownership.

Raid battles, Go League battles and Go Rocket takeovers are also a good place to use SE charge moves. Make sure to have a Pokémon with a super effective charged attack handy for this to count.

Catch 5 Legendary Pokémon

What it says on the tin really. This will either take you an hour if you have Premium Raid passes during a Raid Hour event, or 5 days if you are a Free-to-Play player.

7 Tips on Getting Stronger in Pokemon Go

Win 30 raids using a team of all unique Pokémon species

The easiest way to complete this task is to raid Tier 1 and Tier 3 raids with different teams of Pokémon. Although Tier 5 raids should also be included in your progression, they are not-soloable and often require a specific set of Pokémon that you probably used in earlier raiding tiers.

Win a three-star raid using only Pokémon with 1500 CP or less

This can be quite challenging, but try to reuse the Pokémon you maxed out for The Great League and that are super effective against the specific Tier 3 raid boss youre targeting. You can use our;Pokemon GO Raid Guides to see which Pokémon are good against that boss and then pick similarly typed Pokémon that are under 1500 CP.

Power up 3Pokémon to their max CP

Not much to say here you need to power-up 3 Pokémon to their Max CP. In order to conserve Stardust, we suggest you focus on Lucky Pokémon if possible.

Earn 20 Platinum Medals

Similar to the Earn 10 Platinum medals requirement on Level 45, focus on regular gameplay and you will eventually reach this goal.

Get Gold In All The Medals

Pokémon Go offers bronze, silver, and gold medals for achieving certain goals.

The first set of medals are for achievements. You get them for walking, registering Pokémon to your Pokédex, capturing Pokémon, evolving Pokémon, hatching Pokémon, visiting PokéStops, battling in Gyms, training in Gyms, catching tiny Rattata, catching Pikachu, and catching big Magikarp.

Earning them is their own reward, because Pokémon Go currently offers nothing else. Still, not everyone will walk, catch, hatch, evolve, battle and train that much, so there are bragging rights at least.

The second set of medals are for catching but by Pokémon type: Normal, flying, poison, earth, rock, bug, ghost, fire, water, grass, electric, psychic, fairy, fighting, steel, ice, and dragon. As you go through bronze, silver, and gold, you get bonuses to catch those types of Pokémon: x1.1, x1.2, and x1.3 respectively. Since Pokémon Gen 1 has only one steel type, only three dragon type, and only a handful of ice type, getting some of the medals can be a real challenge.

Getting all the medals… yeah, that’s a win.

Hopefully, that clears things up nicely but dont get caught out by changing your current buddy before evolving it. The Eevee that you have walked 10km with MUST BE your buddy when you hit evolve otherwise you will end up with another Vaporeaon, Jolteon or Flareon and left feeling deflated.

Use items to evolve Pokémon 15 times

You can obtain evolution items from your 7-Day PokéStop spin, Go Battle league battles and rarely from regular PokéStop spins. The list of items you can use is as follows:

Make 3 Excellent Throws

Find Pokémon with larger catching circles like Wailmer, Ponyta, Slowbro and Legendary Pokémon to make this easier. Its not easy at all to consistently land Excellent throws, but these dont have to be done in a row.

Use 200 Berries to help catch Pokémon

A pretty straightforward task.;Community Days will be your best bet to complete this one as well. Throw a Pinap berry or Razz berry at every Pokémon before catching it. Spin Stops and Gyms, open Gifts and complete Raids to get more berries as you progress through the task.

Niantic Confirms Level Cap Increase For Pokmon Go

POKÉMON GO: How To Level Up REALLY FAST in Pokémon GO! (Quickest Way To Level Up Your Trainer!)

Level 40 is so last year.

Longtime Pokémon Go players can finally look forward to reaching new heights. Niantic officially confirmed today that the games level cap will be increased in the near future.;

This update has been in the works for quite a while because data for the increased cap was found in the games code back in April.;

The current max level in Pokémon Go is 40, and it has been that way for years. Now, it appears that Niantic will up that number to at least level 50, with completely new level up rewards too.;

The EXP requirement for level 40 is five million, meaning the jump to level 50 would likely require players to amass 10 million EXP playing the game. Similar rewards will likely be included on the grind to level 50, with tens of Ultra Balls and high-level healing items or rewards like Incense, Lucky Eggs, or Lure Modules.;

Anyone hoping that all of their progress once they hit level 40 will carry over and instantly shoot them up to the new level cap will probably be disappointed, however. It looks like everyone will start from the base five million EXP and have to grind from there to reach the new max.;

There was no timeline given for when the level cap will be increased, but Niantic has confirmed that it is coming sooner rather than later.

Complete Your Living Pokdex

For some people, just having added one of each Pokémon to check off the entries in the Pokédex isn’t enough. For them, keeping them in a living Pokédex is the real challenge and thrill.

If you want a living Pokédex it means, for example, after you evolve your first Dragonite, you have to evolve another Dragonair and keep a Dratini so you have one of each. Same with Tyranitar, Pupitar, and Larvitar. You get the idea.

Ultimately, a living Pokédex means you should have one of every Pokémon currently available in the game also available to you for putting on a Gym or prestiging a Gym, for example, any time you want.

Of course, you can aim for two of each, three of each, or more especially if you’re working on ideal movesets and up the challenge level as much as you like.

A level 40 trainer with a complete Pokédex, every medal at gold, all the candies needed to evolve Gen 3 and 4, and maxed out Pokémon on 10 Gyms or more is simply a brand new, Level 1 trainer who never quit. Or so that saying goes. Realistically, though, between official events and the introduction of new Pokémon, it can sometimes be tough to stay motivated and think of cool things to do. Luckily, Pokémon Go provides several ways to “win”, and with a little creativity, you can easily make several more all your own!

Traditional Individual Pokmon Level

First Pokémon GO Player Hits Level 50 With A Boost From A ...

But, as we mentioned, regardless of the main mechanic being Combat Points , traditional Pokémon Level still exists and has a very important place in the game. When you tap on a wild Pokémon on the main map, but before you actually see the Pokémon in the encounter screen, the wild Pokémon is randomly assigned a Level. This Level is assigned for you personally, which is why sometimes when you are walking around with a friend, you will both tap the same Rattata and yours will be CP 10 while theirs is CP 400. Your Rattata mightve been randomly assigned the number 1 for its Level, while your friends Rattata may have been randomly assigned the number 30. The range of numbers that a Pokémon can have randomly assigned to it must be at or below your current trainer Level. That is why you encounter stronger Pokémon as your Trainer Levels up, and why everyones first Pokémon caught at Trainer Level is always at Pokémon Level 1. The only thing that changes is the range of potential numbers that it can be assigned for its Level.

    Pokemon Go: Finding And Capturing Higher Cp Pokemon

    A trainer’s total level dictates what the maximum CP of a wild Pokemon can be. This means players of a higher trainer level are more likely to spot Pokemon with higher overall CP and a higher CP ceiling.

    Though many veteran Pokemon GO players are aware of this factoid, newer players may fail to notice right away.

    First and foremost, if a Pokemon GO trainer wants to encounter higher CP Pokemon in the wild, they’ll need to put in some effort racking up XP and leveling up their trainer level.

    For players looking elsewhere, raids are often a great avenue for CP-stacked Pokemon. Raid bosses, even lower-tier ones, tend to have a sizable amount of CP and impressive IV stats, making defeating and capturing them a worthwhile endeavor for trainers with enough Raid Passes and healing items. This is a great method to snag some more impressive Pokemon by the numbers.

    Trainers who are not up for combing the wild or jumping into raids can try Research Tasks. When it comes to research encounters, the Pokemon seen are typically impressive in stats compared to the rank and file Pokemon found in the wild. Niantic does occasionally set specific Pokemon for research tasks, but if trainers aren’t picky, then it’s a great avenue to explore.

    Many Daily Research Tasks also have fairly simple objectives, making research a decent wellspring for finding solid Pokemon.

    How Do I Get To Pokmon Go Level 50

    Level 50. The final level. For now You will have to be a real Pokémon master to complete all the tasks required. You will need 30 million XP to reach the max level.
