How to Evolve Any Pokemon Without Trading in Any Game (Emulator Only)

As you can see from the table above, Pokémon in Gold/Silver can now evolve in two new ways and they can also breed! In Red, Blue and Yellow, some Pokémon evolved when they were traded. This is still true, but there are now Pokémon that evolve only when traded while holding a particular item.

The classic four evolutions from Red/Blue/Yellow evolve only by trading, while most Pokémon from later generations require an item to be held in addition.

The following Pokémon evolve through trade: Pokémon Gold/Silver includes a new type of evolution that basically combines Trade Evolution with the Induced Stone Evolution. In order for these Pokémon to evolve, you will need to trade them while theyre holding a specific item.

Pokemon Go: Pokemon Evolving From Trading

Though Pokemon GO has an incredibly sizable roster after years of implementations, the number of Pokemon evolving from trades has remained small. Even if the list of Pokemon that evolve from trades is small, they are usually significantly more impressive than many rank-and-file evolutions currently within the game. When it comes to Pokemon players should try to trade and evolve, the list is as follows:

  • Boldore evolves into Gigalith.
  • Machoke evolves into Machamp.
  • Shelmet evolves into Accelgor.

So what is the benefit of trading these Pokemon to evolve them in Pokemon GO when they can also be evolved with candy?

Put plainly, it’s much more resourceful, as it reduces the candy cost to zero when evolving through a trade. For example, Pokemon such as Haunter and Graveler need 100 candy to evolve, and those like Gurrdurr and Boldore require 200 candy to evolve without trading. It’s nice to have options in Pokemon GO compared to trading being necessary for these evolutions in the traditional Pokemon games, but players tight on candy may still opt for trading regardless.

Pokemon Go: Which Pokemon Evolve When Traded

Pokemon GO changed the means by which Pokemon evolved compared to the main series. ,But that doesn’t mean everything is different.

Though the game’s candy system was a departure from the more RPG-esque leveling system of the main line Pokemon titles, trading Pokemon in both Pokemon GO and the main series can cause some Pokemon to evolve. Since Generation I, this roster has slowly but surely expanded, and the Pokemon who benefit from it do so in bunches. Trading these Pokemon can be tricky at times in the main series, but Pokemon GO makes it easier than ever.

How Do Trade Evolutions Work

How to Evolve Trade Evolution Pokemon on DS Emulators using PokeGen Generations 4 5

Trade evolutions have been a hallmark of the Pokemon series since it’s first incarnation. It all goes back to the days when Pokemon trainers would take their Game Boys to school alongside their handy link cable, and served as an effective mechanism for getting players to engage and trade together. Most of all, it ensured the existence of a healthy trading ecosystem between versions of the Pokemon game.

To catch them all, Pokemon trainers had to trade. Luckily, this isn’t quite the same in Pokemon GO as traditional methods still apply, but utilizing the trade evolution mechanic can still prove very beneficial. What trade evolution does is negate the candy cost for evolving a certain Pokemon, provided the PokemonGO trainer in question receives the Pokemon in a trade.

For example, if a player receives a Machoke in a trade, they can therefore evolve it into a Machamp, and at no cost.

Pokmon Go Trade Evolution List And How Trade Evolutions Work

Before we get into the specifics of trading itself, let’s start with 2020’s big new feature – trade evolutions.

In the mainline Pokémon games, there’s a set of Pokémon that can only be evolved if they’re traded with another player. When Pokémon Go was released, these Pokémon were all evolved through candy, due to the lack of trading.

Now, however, trade evolution has been incorporated into Pokémon Go, offering a different evolution method for a specific group of Pokémon. These Pokémon are:

  • Kadabra
  • Phantump
  • Pumpkaboo

Once you’ve traded one of the above Pokémon, the candy cost for evolving them into their third and final evolution will be reduced to zero. This will allow you to quickly add this new Pokémon to your Pokédex, while also gaining a powerful new team member.

If you don’t have any fellow trainers to trade with, however, you’ll still be able to evolve these Pokémon with the candy.

It costs 100 candy to evolve Kadabra, Machoke, Graveler and Haunter from Gen 1.

It costs 200 candy to evolve Boldore, Gurrdurr, Karrablast and Shelmet from Gen 5.

It’s also important to note that Pokémon that evolve using a combination of items and candy in Pokémon Go don’t receive the trade evolution discount. Even though, in the mainline games, a requirement of their evolution is being traded with another player.

Pokmon: Every Trade Evolution In The Series

The only way to complete the Pokédex and catch them all is to trade with people, as some Pokémon will only evolve by sending them to other players.

The Pokémon series has always forced players to interact in order to finish each game. This is because some Pokémon will only evolve if they are traded with another player, which means that cooperation is needed in order to catch them all.

Part of what made Pokémon Red and Blue so popular was the interaction they allowed between players. Online gaming didn’t exist out the PC gaming bubble, and most two-player games involved working together to clear levels, or facing each other in fighting games. What separated Pokémon from the other games of the era was that it combined the single-player and multiplayer aspects together. The player could grow their team during their journey through Kanto, and then see how that team stacked up against the one owned by their friends. This was all facilitated by the Game Boy’s Link Cable, which allowed two systems to connect together.

The Link Cable also allowed people to trade Pokémon with each other. This step was necessary for completing the Pokédex, as some Pokémon could only evolve through trade, which is an element that kept on being expanded in subsequent Pokémon titles.

Clamperl is the only Pokémon that can evolve into two different Pokémon when traded, and the result of the evolution depends on the item its holding. The Deep Sea Tooth will cause Clamperl to evolve into Huntail, and the Deep Sea Scale will cause it to evolve into Gorebyss. Both of these items are pretty tough to find, however, as each one is only held by a few different species of wild Pokémon. The Deep Sea Tooth is held by wild Carvanha and Sharpedo, and the Deep Sea Scale is held by wild Chinchou, Lanturn, and Relicanth. All of these Pokémon can only be found once the National Dex is unlocked as well, so players shouldnt expect to find these until Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl’s postgame.

Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl require players to trade in order to evolve certain species of Pokémon into their final evolutions.

Evolution is the cornerstone of the Pokémon franchise, and Pokémon: Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl require trainers to use several different methods of evolution to fill their PokéDex, including trading. Its no surprise, considering that trading has been a staple of Pokémon since its earliest days, that certain species of Pokémon will only evolve into their final forms when traded amongst trainers. The completion of most PokéDexs requires trading in one way or another with certain species of Pokémon being version-exclusive, and its certainly one of the easiest ways in the game to catch em all.

Brilliant Diamond and Shining PearlsNational PokéDex contains 493 Pokémon, 13 of which can only be evolved by trading, including 6 from the Sinnoh Dex that players can catch and trade before acquiring the National Dex. In addition, some Pokémon require a specific held item in order to evolve in a trade, so trainers should be sure to give their Pokémon these items before entering a trade with another player. Some of these items are particularly hard to find, however, and many arent even available until the postgame.

How to Evolve Pokemon Without Trading, Evolve Pokemon Without Having to Trade GBA4IOS 2.1

In the core games, several species of Pokémon require Trading to evolve at all. You could work a Kadabra all the way to level 99, and it would still never Evolve, but the moment you Traded it, it would Evolve into an Alakazam. Pokémon Go has featured some of the species which Evolve by Trading since day one, long before Trading was even allowed in the game. These Pokémon could be Evolved in the same manner as any other Pokémon in Go: lots of Candies.

Now that Pokémon Go has introduced Trade Evolution, these Pokémon can still be evolved with Candies, but if you Trade them first, they can be evolved for free. That means a whole lot more Candies you can use to power up these Pokémon. Even better, Trade Evolution is retroactive, so any Pokémon eligible for Trade Evolution that you Traded for in the past can now be Evolved for free.
