Niantic will be offering more ways to earn PokeCoins, especially from home – here’s what they will include:
- Make an Excellent Throw
- Use a Berry to help catch a Pokémon
- Take a snapshot of your buddy

One of the delights of Pokémon GO is finding Pokémon in the real worldwalking around, discovering new places, meeting up with groups of friends to raid or battle together. At their core, all of Niantics games are built around the ideas of exploration, exercise, and playing with friends.
As we said last month, how we all play changed a lot in the past 15 months. With the onset of the global pandemic, we realized that we had to change the model for all of our games. We could no longer take going outside and meeting people for granted.
We learned a lot. Thank you for coming along with us as we continue to navigate through this together.

- New exploration bonuses that make it more rewarding to play outside are coming over the next several months, including bonuses for spinning stops, playing at in-person raids, and getting in those steps.
- Bonuses introduced last year that we plan to remove or change, tested first in the U.S. and New Zealand, followed by other countries and regions based on local conditions.
- Bonuses introduced last year that we are planning on keeping, including first catch of the day bonuses, GO Battle League and Trainer Battle requirements, and more.

Getting Pokcoins For Free
Although various companies have done promotions featuring PokéCoins Sprint gave away $100 worth of coins to customers a few years ago the only way to receive PokéCoins for free is to place your Pokémon at gyms. Gyms are controlled by one of the three teams you can align with in Pokémon GO Mystic, Valor, or Instinct. If your team controls a gym, you can place your Pokémon there. If not, youll need to battle for control. Depending on how many opposing Pokémon are at the gym, the process of defeating them all can take a while. Youll need to defeat all Pokémon at the gym in order to take it over.
Once your team controls a gym, you can place one Pokémon there, removing it from your roster, temporarily. Placing a Pokémon at a gym can earn you up to 50 PokéCoins per day. You earn six PokéCoins per every hour the Pokémon defends the gym . You should know that the most number of coins you can earn each day is 50, regardless of how many Pokémon you place at various gyms. This also means that even if a Pokémon defends a gym for longer than one day, you still only earn a maximum of 50 PokéCoins each time you place one at a gym.
Earning Coins From Gyms
The easiest way to earn Coins is by defending Gyms. To do this, you just have to be near enough to a Gym with your teams colours. First, click it, then click the plus icon, then choose a Pokemon to add. You wont be able to add another Pokemon already in the Gym , you can only use Pokemon at full health, and gyms are limited to six Pokemon. Its best to use a Pokemon with a high defense stat like Blissey, Snorlax, or Slaking, and to try and vary the types compared to Pokemon already in the Gym.
However, if it’s in a busy area which tends to get taken over a lot, its often best to just put a weak, newly caught Pokemon in there, since then you wont need to waste Revives and Potions healing it afterwards.
Speaking of Gyms getting taken over, if a Gym is not your teams colours, instead of a plus icon there will be a battle icon. Youll have to fight the Pokemon in the Gym to gradually wear their health down until its clear, allowing you to turn it your teams colours by adding a Pokemon.
You earn 1 coin for every 10 minutes a Pokemon defends a Gym, and you can have as many Pokemon in as many different Gyms as you like. However, your daily rewards are capped at 50 coins per day, meaning whether your Pokemon defends a gym for 8 hours and 20 minutes or for 6 days, the rewards are the same.

All Clamperl Evolutions In Pokmon Go
Itll take you a few tries.
Image via Niantic
Clamperl is an interesting Pokémon in Pokémon Go. You have to be a little careful when attempting to evolve because it wont always immediately tell you what youre going to get. If you want to go after all of Clamperls evolutions, you may need to go for a few additional options to ensure you have the best options for the available evolutions.
Clamperl only has two evolutions. Unfortunately, it is random which one you get when evolving Clamperl in Pokémon Go. The evolutions, Huntail and Gorebyss, have a 50% chance of appearing whenever you use 50 Clamperl candies for the evolution. The one good thing is that Clamperl does not require you to meet any special evolution requirements.
Huntail and Gorebyss are slightly different from one another. Both Pokémon are Water-types, but Huntail has a maximum CP of 2,645, an attack of 197, a defense of 179, and a stamina of 146. Gorebyss has a maximum CP of 2,820, an attack of 211, a defense of 179, and a stamina of 146. Of the two choices, we highly recommend trying to go for Gorebyss. It has slightly better stats than Huntail and a much better moveset to complement it as a Water-type. Because Clamperls evolution is random, it may take you a few attempts to successfully evolve one into a suitable Gorebyss.
