As part of Pokemon GO Fests Ultra Unlock challenges, players earned the right to battle and compete for the chance at a Shiny Dialga.
Its the first time that the Temporal Pokemon has been available in its Shiny form in Pokemon GO and, coupled with the fact its very good in the Master League, its likely that demand for it will be high.
Thankfully, the Pokemon will be available for a while, arriving on July 23 and leaving a couple of weeks later on August 6.
But, to help you on your journey, heres our Shiny Dialga Raid Guide, including its weaknesses and best counters, as well as your odds of encountering a shiny one.

One of the strongest Pokemon in the Pokemon universe is Dialga. The steel and dragon type Pokemon has a total strength of 53,394CP, which is roughly 10 to 15 times the strength of a normal Pokemon. With ground and fighting types being its only weakness, Dialga can deal massive damage with fast moves like Metal Claw or Dragon Breath, and charge moves like Iron Head and Draco Meteor. However, how to get Dialga in Pokemon Go remains a popular question among players.;
Generation Iv Legendary Pokemon Gets New Shiny Form In Pokemon Go
The inclusion of Shiny Dialga in the game is part of the Ultra Unlock associated with last months Collection Challenge. There will be three parts to this Ultra Unlock, and the theme for the first part is time . This event will run from July 23 to August 3.
Like other legends in the game, Shiny Dialga will appear as a Tier 5 raid boss. Being lucky enough to find this rare shiny one is one thing, beating him is another. Dialga will definitely be one of the harder raid bosses to defeat.
Dialga has a defense stat of 211 and stamina of 205. That essentially means Pokemon wont deal much damage to it without using super-effective moves. Dialga also has a high 275 Attack stat, so it will deal massive damage in return.
There are several Dialga counters, but strong Fighting types are probably the best bet. Pokemon like Lucario and Machamp typically do well against these bulkier Steel-typed Pokemon.
Fortunately, Dialga is not the only shiny appearance in this first part of the Ultra Unlock. Cranidos and Shieldon will also get shinies to the game. This is turning out to be a great event for Generation IV fans.
The second part of Ultra Unlock is devoted to the theme of space. This strongly suggests that shiny Palkia will be the next tier 5 raid boss.
The legendary in part 3 of the Ultra Unlock was a mystery. Some thought it would be Giratina or Arceus as both are also Generation IV legends. Recently, however, this mystery may have been solved.

How Many Trainers Are Needed
Dialga can be defeated with three trainers, but if you cannot guarantee the top counters with maxed-out CP and the best moves, your best bet is to make sure you have four or five players.
Using the Circle Lock Technique to guarantee Great or Excellent throws, along with Golden Razz Berries, is the best way to catch Dialga. Dialga has a huge and easy-to-hit catch circle, but keep in mind that it may be a bit closer than other Dragon-types like Reshiram and Zekrom that need a harder throw.

As weve mentioned earlier, Dialga is a multi-type Pokemon. Its body is dark blue colour. The chest of this Pokemon is made of metallic portions. The crest on its head resembles a dinosaur. It has 2 horns on top of its head, 2 fang-like horns at the sides of its mouth, and 3 strong spines at the back of its neck. The wing-like structure can be used for focusing the flow of time. Dialga has the innate ability to change the flow of time either by speeding it up, slowing it down, or stopping it altogether. It also has the ability to travel through time and learn about the past, present, and the future. It resides in an entirely different dimension and hence, it is more powerful in many aspects than every other Pokemon in the game.

Dialgas dragon- and steel-typing give it two weaknesses: fighting– and ground-type moves. Use any of the following:
- Lucario with Counter and Aura Sphere
- Machamp with Counter and Dynamic Punch
- Garchomp with Mud Shot and Earth Power or Earthquake
- Groudon with Mud Shot and Earthquake
If you have the Mega Energy to spare, you can also use Mega Lopunny to pack a punch.

What Is The Weakness Of Dialga In Pokemon Go
As is typical in any Pokemon title, including Go, precisely how strong a Pokemon is and what moves it uses may vary depending on the individual, but there are a few things that remain consistent across all of any given species of Pokemon.
The easiest of these to exploit is often the Pokemons Type.
Dialga is a Steel/Dragon Dual-Type Pokemon. This is a fairly unique typing as far as the entire Pokemon Franchise goes, with only one other example of it. In Pokemon Go, in particular, it is a unique typing.
Its a pretty damn good Typing too, with only two weakness options and an incredibly 10 different resisted types meaning if you want to bring down Dialga, you better be prepared.
Those two Type weakness options? Those are Fighting-Type and Ground-Type, both of which will deal 160% damage in total. For all of the Types to avoid, however? Well be needing a list for those, so Ill summarise what we know so far below.

Fighting-Types provide no real advantage against any of these moves, taking the standard full 100% damage from every move Dialga can possibly know. Ground-Types on the other hand can at least get a little bit of an advantage here.
Ground-types are entirely immune to Electric-Type attacks, meaning that they can ignore 20% of all the possible attacks Dialga can throw at them. This isnt such a huge upgrade on Fighting-Types that you should always pick Ground-Type instead, but it is a nice bonus.

Is Shiny Dialga In Pokemon Go
Yes, Shiny Dialga is available in Pokemon Go. This rare variation actually made its long-awaited debut during the Ultra Unlock Part 1 event, so its a very recent addition to the game.
