Ashs Bulbasaurs Gender Has Never Been Explicitly Stated
While Bulbasaur has been a recurring character for many years, the Pokémon television show has always;avoided explicitly mentioning the characters gender.
The one exception to this comes in the very first episode that Bulbasaur appears in, wherein Ash calls;Bulbasaur a he however, as Ash is unfamiliar with the biology of many Pokémon, fans are divided as;to whether this counts as definitive proof of Bulbasaurs gender.
This reference doesnt occur in the original Japanese show, although there is a subtle hint at Bulbasaurs;gender in another episode. In Island of the Giant Pokémon, an episode where Ashs Pokémon talk to;each other through subtitles, Bulbasaur uses the personal pronoun ore , which is typically only;used by males. Beyond this, though, there is no clear reference to Bulbasaurs gender in the entirety of;the cartoon series.
While originally, the only Pokémon to have distinct genders were the Nidoran family line, genders were;introduced for almost all Pokémon during the games second generation of titles, and more recently, the;games have introduced slight physical differences between genders for example, female Pikachu have;heart-shaped tails. In the games, Bulbasaurs are only female 12.5% of the time, meaning that for every;seven male Bulbasaurs, there is only one female.

Collectors could find these cards in one of three versions: blue-back, green-back, and prism holofoil.
While 150 different characters appeared on the blue-back and green-back cards, only 16 received a prism holofoil version.
Though these Topsun cards contain a trademark date of 1995, most collectors agree that the company did not distribute them until 1997.
And that makes sense because even the official Pokemon Trading Card Game didnt debut in Japan until 1996.
The Blastoise prism holo is one of the most desirable Topsun cards and features the same imagery used for the cover art of the Pokemon Blue videogame released on the Nintendo Game Boy in Japan in 1996.

Pokemon Pop Series 5 Gold Star Espeon

Like its Umbreon counterpart that we covered a little bit ago, the 2007 POP Series 5 Gold Star Espeon is one of the two most-desired cards in the 17-card promotional set.
The Gold Star symbol next to the character’s name in the upper-left side of the card denotes the increased rarity of the card.
Masakazu Fukuda mixed an intense color scheme with a striking outline of Espeon to deliver a fantastic card with tremendous eye appeal.
Tropical Mega Battle: $10000
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, an annual Pokemon Trading Card Game tournament was held in Honolulu, Hawaii. At this 1999 event, just 12 of these Tropical Mega Battle cards were produced to be distributed to some of the lucky 50 players who attended the event, meaning the remaining number of mint copies is especially low all these years later.

Showing a Psyduck having a nap in a hammock on a tropical island, this legendary Trainer Card sells for a whole lot of cash thanks to its rarity. Pokemon Card Sold By Country
With no surprise, 62.19% of Pokemon cards were sold from the United States and Japan coming in second with 19.62%. Canada came in third with 7.71% of total cards sold.

For the bigger countries like Japan, the United States, Canada and Australiait kind of got interesting.
The United States sold the most at $44,579.17 but only had an average of $66.46. This is less than the total average sold.
Japan and Australia had higher averages at $93.73 and $89.17 respectively.
Canadas average was on the lower side at $55.53. Canadians seem to be selling their cards but arent selling valuable pokemon cards.
It was also interesting to see that Canada and Australia had around the same number of items sold, but Australia had a 60% higher average than Canada.
This could mean that Australians have more valuable Pokémon cards than Canadians.
Same with Japan and the United States.
Japan had a 27% higher average cost than the United States but only had 19.62% of items sold compared to the United States which had 62% of the items sold.
We also looked at One37pm and found that the most valuable collector Pokemon cards are printed in Japanese .
Ex Team Rocket Returns Gold Star Torchic
It’s not all that often that a starter Pokemon card;that isn’t Charizard sells for big money, particularly one from as late as 2004. Gold Star Torchic from the EX Team Rocket Returns set is something of an exception, though, with a copy having sold for more than $25,000 towards the end of 2020.

The card in question was one of only 17 to have been given the PSA’s perfect GEM-MT 10 rating and 322 to have been submitted to the company for inspection. A few of the other cards in the set have also sold for high prices over the years, but none have fetched anywhere near as much as the little fire Pokemon.

Pokemon Japanese Promo Wonder Platinum Trophy Card
Sold in November, 2020 for $25,100
Held at the Prince Park Tower Tokyo on May 4, 2009, the final round of the 2009 Japan World Championship pitted finalists against each other in fierce competition.
Each of the twenty finalists across three different age divisions received one of these Wonder Platinum cards, so one can assume that only twenty of these cards made their way into collectors’ hands.
How many still exist today is unknown, but finding one graded in a BGS 9.5 holder is incredibly rare.
What is known is that this trainer card is one of the most highly coveted DPt-P promotional cards, and its imagery makes for an incredibly well-designed card.
