The original starter Pokémon Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle are some of the most iconic and popular Pokémon ever, besides Pikachu. For Halloween 2019, Pokémon Go dressed up Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle for the first time. Bulbasaur donned a Shedninja costume, Charmander wore a Cubone costume, and Squirtle had a Yamask hat. During the event, from October 17 to November 1, 2019, Shiny versions of each of the costumed starters were also available. The costumed cuties returned for Halloween 2020, but its not a sure thing that theyll return again in 2021. So players may have already missed out on nabbing the Shiny costumed starters.
Look For Ditto Candidates
Ditto will only show up as the 15 Pokémon above, so if youre trying to track one down, theres no sense in wasting your time on other Pokémon. If youre looking for Ditto, its best to set up shop in an area with a lot of the Ditto disguises. That way, you can grind Weedles and Bidoofs all day until a Ditto shows up.

What Are The Odds Of Finding A Shiny Pokmon In Pokmon Go
Currently, most estimate Shiny encounters outside of events at 1/400, but during events the chances are much higher, sometimes even as high as 1/20. Even outside of events, however, this is a dramatic increase from the 1/4096 base rate in core games, or 1/512 using both the Masuda Method and a Shiny Charm.

Why Do The Pokmon That Can Be Ditto In Pokmon Go Change
When Magikarp was the first Pokémon in Go to have a Shiny variant available, Ditto could no longer hide as Magikarp. Since then, anytime a Shiny variant of a potential Ditto species has been released, it was removed from the pool and more Pokémon were added to the pool to compensate. Theyve also always been really common Pokémon, so as to avoid disappointment over a Pokémon you really wanted turning into Ditto.
On February 20, 2021, the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event introduced Shiny variants for the remaining Gen I Pokémon, including Ditto. In order to catch a Shiny Ditto, however, Trainers had to complete the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto Special Research storyline available only to players who purchased a ticket for the event.
However, beginning in September 2021, the Season of Mischief will see Shiny Ditto in the wild. The new list of Pokémon Ditto can be hiding as includes some Pokémon with Shiny variants already unlocked. To avoid disappointing players, if a Pokémon on the list appears as Shiny, it wont be a Ditto, but if its not Shiny, not only can it be Ditto, but that Ditto can also be Shiny.
How To Catch Ditto In Pokemon Go
Pokemon Gos Ditto appears to be hiding as one of several low-tier pokemon . These include Pidgey, Rattata but may include others .
Once the masquerading Ditto has been caught, an Oh? will appear above the pokeball not unlike a hatching egg and in a cutscene, the fake pokemon will switch forms and you will find that it was Ditto that was caught, and not the other Pokemon.
Specific pokemon that Ditto can disguise himself is still under investigation, and more details will be updated as they are revealed.

The Nearby Pokmon Tracker Is Your Greatest Buddy In The Whole World
A button will emerge in the bottom right corner of the map screen that will display the silhouettes of Pokémon that are currently in the area you are currently in.
Alternatively, if youve run out of Incense and Lures, you may use this to hunt them down on your own however, be careful that the silhouette will not indicate a Ditto. The silhouettes may be selected by tapping on them to plan a route on your map that will take you directly to the monitored Pokémon, which you can then attempt to capture and hope for the best.
Note: This list of Pokémon that may be used as Dittos is constantly changing for example, it used to contain Paras in February, but this is no longer the case as of March 2021 nevertheless, everything else has stayed constant.

Today were taking a peek at the A Very Slow Discovery event in Pokemon GO. This event began on June 8, 2021, and will last through the weekend, ending on June 13, 2021 at 8PM local time. This event will feature an event-exclusive free box in the in-game Shop with 20x Pokeballs, 10x Great Balls, and a Kings Rock. Youll need that Kings Rock to evolve Slowpoke into Slowking!
Alongside that event box, youll find other Slowpoke-inspired avatar items available for wearing. Theres an absurd Slowpoke hat/bonnet thing and a lovely Slowpoke shirt, too. You COULD also get a slightly different Slowpoke Forever shirt as a reward for collecting all four Slowpoke that includes Slowpoke, Galarian Slowpoke, Slowbro, and Slowking!
Youll need to do some evolving to get Slowbro and Slowking. You could potentially find the Galarian Slowpoke in a raid battle. Raid battles will also include some always-welcome Pokemon greats, like Snorlax! Youll find Mega Slowbro in Mega Raids, as well as event-exclusive Field Research tasks that deliver Slowbro Mega Energy.

This makes finding Shinies of Tauros, Mr. Mime, Farfetchd, and Kangaskhan nearly impossible. The Shiny versions of the region exclusives were first released during the Ultra Bonus Event in 2019.

Mischievous Pokémon were causing more trouble than usual in the game and on Thursday, April 1, 2021, Pokémon prone to mischief were appearing more often in the wild. The problem is, some of them were Ditto in disguise.
The Pokémon prone to mischief included Aipom, Croagunk, and Purrloin.
Following the event, Purrloin stuck around and was added to the Ditto Disguises list. It goes to show, you always want to check back to make sure you know which Pokémon Ditto is disguising itself as.

The latest way to catch a Shiny Ditto is by earning a Research Breakthrough in September 2021. To do this, Trainers must complete a Field Research task and claim the subsequent reward for seven consecutive days.
Once youve done this, youll earn a guaranteed encounter with a Ditto, and Niantic have confirmed that it could be Shiny. Of course, this isnt guaranteed, but its the best chance you have to find one right now.
