What Pokemon Can You Trade To Evolve

What Pokmon Benefit From Trade Evolution

How to Evolve Any Pokemon Without Trading in Any Game (Emulator Only)

There are currently eight species of Pokémon who benefit from Trade Evolution. Four are from Gen I, while the other four are new Pokémon from Gen V.

  • Kadabra
  • Karrablast
  • Shelmet

While Trading is necessary to Evolve some other species of Pokémon in the core games, such as Dusclops, most require holding an Item while being Traded. There are only two more Pokémon who Evolve by the mere act of being Traded , and they’re both from Gen VI, which hasn’t been introduced to Pokémon Go yet, so it is unlikely that more Pokémon will be added to this list before Gen VI is introduced.

How Does Trade Evolution Work In Pokmon Go

Pokémon GO is introducing an age-old mechanic from the Pokémon franchise called Trade Evolution. Some Pokémon will only evolve if you trade them with another trainer, but things work a little different in Pokémon GO.

The Trade Evolution mechanic is straightforward. You have the second form of a Pokémon in your collection and ask a friend to trade with you. When you trade, your Pokémon goes to your friend. When it arrives at them, the Pokémon has no candy cost to evolve. If you already received any of the Pokémon who can evolve through trades in the past, they will have no candy cost to evolve.

Its important to remember that in Pokémon GO, you cannot trade a Pokémon more than once. If you trade that Pokémon to your friend, it goes to them and stays with them. It means your friend needs to send you the trade if you want it to cost lost to evolve the traded Pokémon.

This method doesnt work for every Pokémon. Here are the ones that benefit from it:

  • Graveler

As with other games of the franchise, you can now evolve your creatures by trading them in Pokémon GO. Here’s a list of Pokémon that you can trade with your friends.

The Trade Evolution method has long been established in Pokémon games, and it’s finally coming to the Pokémon GO mobile game. This guide will help you understand how to do this and which Pokémon can evolve by trading. One of the benefits of this method is that you can significantly reduce the number of candies you need to evolve.

Basics And Rules Of The Trade

List of pokemon that need to be traded to evolve ...

No matter which way you trade, you should remember the following rules:

    • Traded Pokémon gain EXP quicker. It’s a good idea to trade as many Pokémon as possible back and forth with a friend to reach higher levels more easily.
    • Even if you trade away the last Pokémon of a certain kind, the credit for catching it will not be erased. In other words, you don’t actually need to keep all 151 Pokémon to get a complete Pokedex.
    • You don’t get credit for a Pokémon’s pre-evolutions when you catch its evolved form. The same holds true for trading. If you receive a Raichu in a trade, you don’t automatically get credit for Pikachu if you haven’t caught one yourself.
    • Make a deal with your friend that when you trade him/her Haunter, Machoke, Graveler or Kadabra, they’ll return their evolved forms right back to you. This way, both players will get credit for them.
    • Remember that certain badges are required to successfully control higher-level Pokémon.
    • You cannot trade any of the new Gold/Silver Pokémon back to Pokémon Red/Blue and Yellow.
    • Pokémon that have learned new techniques in Gold and Silver that weren’t available in Blue/Red or Yellow cannot be traded back to Blue/Red or Yellow.

Every Pokmon That Evolves Through Trade In Sword And Shield

Grab your friends and get to trading.

Sword and Shield take players through the hills of the Galar region and feature a wide array of new and returning Pokémon species. While many of these Pokémon evolve through leveling up, others require items or special methods to reach their next form.

One of these evolutionary methods is trade evolution. This method dates back to the franchises first generation with Haunter and Machoke, who only evolve via trade. Over the years, Game Freak added several new Pokémon who require a trade to evolve and many of them appear in the franchises newest title.

Here are all of the Pokémon in Sword and Shield that evolve through trade.

Trainers can trade their Pokémon through Sword and Shields new online system, the Y-Comm. There are two different options for players to use: Surprise or Link Trade. The Surprise Trade works much like previous generations Wonder Trade, where players choose a Pokémon to send off and get a random one from a random trainer in return. Link Trade allows players to match up with a random person to trade multiple Pokémon at once. Those who are looking to trade with their friends will be required to enter a code to match up with a specific person.

How Trade Evolution Works In Pokmon Go

    Pokemon GO

Trade evolution! You love to see it. This feature has been part of the mainline Pokémon games for years, but its only now just coming to Pokémon GO. Basically, youve got to remember that the original purpose of the Pokémon games was to find a good use case for the Game Boy link cable, and to that end the franchise has always encouraged trading in any way it can. Thats why certain Pokémon only evolve when theyre traded between two trainers, ensuring that catching them all requires either two people or one person with two Game Boys. But that was then and this is now, so lets talk about Trade evolution in Pokémon GO.

Trading does not seem to be required for evolving any Pokémon in these games, as per the Pokémon Blog. So if you want to do it the traditional way, by saving up 100 candies, you can still do that. What trade evolution does, instead, is negate the candy cost for evolving a certain Pokémon if you receive that Pokémon in a trade. So if you receive a Machoke in a trade, you can evolve it to a Machamp for free.

Here are the Pokemon that currently benefit from trade evolution:

    • Kadabra
    • Karrablast
    • Shelmet

Luckily, the old methods still work, so the anti-social can still benefit. And the tradeable Pokémon only require 25 candies to get to where they need to be, so random people at raids might still be willing to help you out.

    • Boldore, Gurrdurr, Karrablast, and Shelmet: 200 Candy

Once youve found another player to connect with and trade, youve saved a lot of Candy and a lot of time trying to get that specific Pokemon evolution you want.

    Trading Between Game Generations

Pokémon can be traded between Generation I and Generation II games using the Time Capsule feature. For compatibility purposes, the Pokémon to be traded from the Generation II game must be a species that existed in Generation I and cannot have any moves introduced in Generation II. The Time Capsule exploit can be used to trick the game into trading Generation II Pokémon back to Generation I as well, but they will become glitch Pokémon like MissingNo.. Additionally, the trade evolution learnset oversight can also be used to trade a Pokémon with a Generation II move back to a Generation I game, though it will become a glitch move. This is the only instance in the series in which Pokémon can be sent back to games from a previous generation.

It is not possible to trade between Generation II and Generation III games.

Starting in Generation IV, Pokémon from previous generations can be transferred to newer generations through a variety of methods, though none of them involve trading.

What Trade Evolution Does In Pokmon Go

Pokémon GO doesn’t let these Pokémon instantly evolve when traded, but it does give a sizable discount to Candy required to evolve. Players normally need to get at least 100 Candies to make the listed Pokémon evolve. But if these Pokémon are traded, their new owners won’t need any Candy to trigger evolution. That’s right, the trade evolution mechanic makes evolution FREE.

How To Trade In Pokmon Go And Trading Requirements

    The Old Reader

Before you can start trading, you need to fulfill the following requirements:

    • Be Pokémon Go Friends with the person you are trading with
    • Have a Trainer Level of 10 or above
    • Be within close physical proximity

From there, go to your Friends feed, and select the Friend you want to Trade with. The option to Trade will be next to ‘Send Gift’, below the XP bar.

Provided you are within 100m, you can then select a Pokémon to trade, check the Pokémon you’ll receive and the Stardust cost before confirming. Then, you trade, with the process taking just a few seconds.

The following also needs to be taken into consideration when it comes to trading:

    • Trades will give each player additional Candy, with more Candy rewarded if the two Pokémon were caught far away from another. According to Reddit, this is 1 Candy for below 30km, 2 Candy for 30-100km, 3 Candy for above 100km.
    • The HP and CP of each Pokémon will vary once the Trade is completed – it could be higher or lower. The better the Friendship Level, the less variation will be. You’ll be able to see this before the trade, and there will be safeguards in place to stop powerful Pokémon going to players with a much lower Trainer level.

    How Do Trade Evolutions Work

Trade evolutions have been a hallmark of the Pokemon series since it’s first incarnation. It all goes back to the days when Pokemon trainers would take their Game Boys to school alongside their handy link cable, and served as an effective mechanism for getting players to engage and trade together. Most of all, it ensured the existence of a healthy trading ecosystem between versions of the Pokemon game.

To catch them all, Pokemon trainers had to trade. Luckily, this isn’t quite the same in Pokemon GO as traditional methods still apply, but utilizing the trade evolution mechanic can still prove very beneficial. What trade evolution does is negate the candy cost for evolving a certain Pokemon, provided the PokemonGO trainer in question receives the Pokemon in a trade.

For example, if a player receives a Machoke in a trade, they can therefore evolve it into a Machamp, and at no cost.

    Pokmon Go Special Trades Explained

In trading, not all Pokémon are weighted equally. They are classed under two types:

    Standard Pokémon Trades:

    • Forms you don’t have in your Pokédex
    • Any other Pokémon not in your Pokédex that isn’t Legendary or Shiny

    Special Trades:

It should be reiterated that Mythical Pokémon – such as Mew – cannot be traded under any circumstances.

    Standard and Special Trade differences

There are two main differences with Standard and Special Trades. For one, you can only do one Special Trade per day, with anyone. This resets at the same time PokéStops and Research quests do .

The other is the Stardust cost. This is where things get a little more complicated. If you are trading Legendaries and Shinies you both own, the cost is the same as a Standard Pokémon you don’t own, such as a regional or a Unown form. But if one of you don’t have a Legendary or Shiny in a trade, then the cost jumps up massively.

The Season of Mischief is here!Current events, include Season 9 of the Go Battle League, the addition of Raid Achievements and the Misunderstood Mischief research quest.
