Feebas is likely to be a sticking point for most people. The ragged-looking little fish is very rare outside of events, and plenty of people that missed those events might be awfully short on the 100 candy required to evolve it. If you’re trying to manage that with the little fish as your buddy, that’s going to take you a minimum of 500 kilometers, minus whatever you got from catching it to begin with. That’s a whole lot to ask out of anyone, and would likely mean you’d be working on this thing for months if you’re not using rare candy or other bonuses.
So if you were busily making a spreadsheet about just how you were going to cover the several hundred kilometers required to evolve Feebas, just wait until tomorrow, August 23, and you should have a much simpler time of it.
There’s no way to get around the 20km you have to walk with your fishy friend, but that’s much more manageable than 500.
How Do I Evolve Feebas
You’ll need a friend to get Feebas’ evolution, Milotic. First, while you’re still out on Route 2, where you found Feebas, head around the north side of the lake and find the glint in the water indicating an item. There’s a Prism Scale waiting for you. Once you have it, hand it to your Feebas to hold.
Now, you’ll need to trade Feebas away to get it to evolve. Since you probably want to be the one with the Milotic at the end of this, you’ll want to make sure you’re trading with a trusted friend who will give you the Pokémon back when you’re done.
