There have been some new types added in recent years, so keeping track of all of the specific interactions has gotten a little tricky. Alongside each type youll find a list of the types it is strong against and weak to. Well then go into some detail on each type.

Fairy Type Is The Bane Of Dragon Type

With plenty of resistances and only a couple of weaknesses, dragon types used to be on top of the world and nearly unstoppable. That is, until;Pokémon’s;sixth-generation added fairy type to its roster, bringing the mighty dragons down a peg with;them as their new weakness. However, it is a little strange that fairies turned out to be the bane of dragon types.

Fairies are usually depicted as small and cute creatures, and a lot of the;Pokémon under this type definitely fit that mold. And fairies don’t typically beat dragons in fantasy stories, so it seems like a stretch for;Pokémon like Jigglypuff or Slurpuff to be so effective against intimidating foes like Dragonite and Salamence.

Fairy Types Can Beat Fighting Types But Why

Despite their fighting spirit and tough look, fighting types have weaknesses like any other;Pokémon. Their weaknesses include flying and psychic types. They are also weak against fairy types, though this one seems to be the more head-scratching weakness of the bunch since there’s no official or clear-cut reason for it.

It could possibly be inferred that fairy represents magic, something that can’t be fought in a traditional sense.;Though even that reason could be argued against;since the feats of fighting-type;Pokémon can defy what’s physically possible, according to the;Pokédex.

Our type chart presents the 18 Pokémon types in attack and defence scenarios. To use it, simply find your Pokémons type to see what its attacks are strong and weak against, and what it is resistant and vulnerable to when defending.

• Types bolded in square brackets are subject to a further cut in effectiveness in the mainline games these are outright immunities
• If a type is not listed, damage is neutral
• The strength of an attack is increased if the attack type is strong against both types of a dual type Pokémon
• Type resistance and vulnerability effectively cancel each other out on dual type Pokémon

Note that attack and defence type relationships are not identical e.g. types may be resistant to types when defending that they are not super effective against when attacking.

Remember, things get even more interesting when Pokémon of dual types crop up and you have to factor in additional strengths and weaknesses.

What Type Has The Least Weaknesses

All Pokémon have at least one type weakness and having one weakness is the closest there is to having no weakness. However, I think Arceus is worth mentioning. Arceus isnt free from type weaknesses like any Pokemon but it has the ability of multi-type, from which the the Pokemon can be of any type.

What Is Dragon Type Weak Too

In the games, Dragon types are only weak against Ice and Dragon type moves. They are also highly resistant to Fire, Electric, Grass and Water type moves, with all four being featured as the starting Pokémons types in the first Generation. Dragon attacks cannot hurt it and Fairy attacks are super-effective against it.

You can mostly identify which Pokemon a Team GO Rocket grunt is going to use before you battle them. Theyll announce some catchphrase, which indicates the type of their Pokemon. However, youll need to prepare for different scenarios, as they can have dual-types or different Pokemon out of a set list from that type.

If youre having trouble finding her at a PokeStop, watch for GO Rocket Balloons. A helpful tip for those who have a Rocket Radar or Super Rocket Radar equipped is to unequip them when looking for lower-ranked grunts. How To Defeat Dragon

In Pokemon GO, Dragon-type Pokemon are particularly weak against three other types. Fairy, Ice, and fellow Dragon-type Pocket Monsters have an advantage over these creatures in the mobile game.

A trainer must not forget that Dragon-types have resistances against Electric, Fire, Grass, and Water-type attacks used against them in battle. That’s why it isn’t recommended to send out Pokemon assigned one of these types when fighting a Dragon-type foe.

Why Are Dragon Types Weak To Dragon

Do you want the real reason or the lore reason? Lore reason: Dragon types are resistant to the more mundane elements, such as fire, water, grass, or electric type attacks, with their only mundane weakness in ice typing coming from being endothermic creatures who cannot regulate internal body temperature.

Pokmon Go Types Strengths And Weakness

Pokémon also has its own set of weaknesses and strengths. For example, bug-type Pokémon are weak against fire-, flying-, and rock-type moves. Bug-type moves are strong against dark-, grass-, and psychic-type moves. Fire-, flying-, and rock-type moves will do double damage against a bug-type, like Caterpie.

Some Pokémon have two types, which means they can have a doubled weakness or have their strength and weaknesses cancel out to just take normal damage. Rayquaza, a dragon- and flying-type, takes four times the damage from ice-type moves. On the flip side, Shuckle, a rock- and bug-type, takes normal damage from fire-type moves, since rock-type is strong against fire-type.

Strengths and weaknesses also arent necessarily just opposites of each other. Though fire-type move deal less damage to water-type Pokémon and water-type moves do doubled damage against fire-type Pokémon, this isnt the case with every type. For example, fighting-type moves are strong against normal-types, but normal-types just do regular damage against fighting-types, rather than do reduced damage.

Knowing what Pokémons strengths and weaknesses are is an important aspect of raiding and battling. To do the most damage you can, you should make sure that your Pokémons moves are strong against what its battling.

Ice Types: The Ice type pokemon are very effective against Grass, Ground, Flying and Dragon type pokemon. While weak to Fire, Fighting, Rock and Steel types. Example a Lapras will die very easy to a Charizard, Hitmonlee, Golem or Steelix but can kill a Venusar, Sandlash, Pidgeot or Dragonite very easy.

Despite the table above, there is actually much more to type effectiveness than meets the eye. For example:

• Super effective moves will deal double the damage, whereas weak moves will deal half. There are also a few moves that will deal no damage at all, such as normal-type attacks against ghost-types.
• Dual-types also play an important role. Dual-type Pokemon, as the name suggests, have two types. If the move you are using is effective against both the opposing Pokemons typing, it will deal 4x the damage. Conversely, if the move is weak against both, then it will be just 1/4 of the overall damage.

The best example of a super-effective type attack is using a water attack against a rock and/or ground type. In this instance, Geodude would be 4x more susceptible against any water Pokemon attacks directed at it.

The opposite of this would occur when a Fairy-type move is used a mon like Heatran, which is a dual steel/fire-type. This would result in just 1/4 of the damage.

• They’re weak against themselves because only a dragon could withstand another dragon. It could also be that being a magical creature, they can only be defeated by another magical creature, hence the Dragon and Fairy weaknesses.
• They’re weak against the Ice type because dragons are reptilian creatures and reptiles are cold blooded , which causes them to become slow and lethargic when faced with cold temperatures.
• The Steel type resists them because in legends, knights used armor of that material to defend themselves when facing a dragon. Strangely, they’re not weak to the Steel type.
• They have no effect against the Fairy type because in certain mythologies, fairies’ magic could dominate oriental dragons. While dragons were often immune to magic in European legends, it is a common theme in fairy tales that knights slay the dragon and for dragons to be weak to magic.
• They’re resistant to the Grass, Fire, Water and Electric types because in old legends, dragons were immune to the forces of nature. This also fits with the Generation I starters with each type representing Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle&Pikachu.

What Is Weak To What

If you’re here, you probably don’t know the type weaknesses and resistances. Also, maybe you don’t know that when a pokmon uses an attack of its type, like if an elecrtic pokmon uses an electric attack, the damage is multiplied by 1.5. Well, here are the types:

Normal is a plain type. Some people say it’s useless, but others say it’s great. I’d say Normal type pokmon are good, many of them have good status and they have only one weakness, Fighting, and are competely immune to Ghost, although they resist no other type. Normal type attacks, however, are not as good. No type is weak to them, but Ghost is immune to Normal and Rock and Steel resist it. But Normal attacks can be the solution to your problems anyway, as most pokmon can learn Normal attacks and many of them are strong. The Normal type is a physical type, so all Normal attacks are counted as physical attacks.

Fire is a “hot” type. Fire is a powerful type that should be on every team. Scizor and Forretress, both very common in teams, are only weak to Fire. Fire is super effective on Bug, Steel, Grass and Ice and is not very effective on Fire, Water, Rock and Dragon. No type is immune to Fire. Water, Rock and Ground are super effective on Fire pokmon and Fire, Grass, Bug, Ice and Steel are not very effective on them. The Fire type is a special type, so all Fire attacks are counted as special attacks.
