How To Get Gigantamax Eevee
To get a free Gigantamax Eevee in Pokémon Sword and Shield, players must play Sword and Shield on a Nintendo Switch console that has save data from Pokemon: Lets Go, Eevee. The save data can be on any console profile, and there is no progress requirement .

Increased Chance of Encountering Gigantamax Pokémon
In Max Raid Battles, four Trainers can team up to take on a wild Dynamax Pokémon. In extremely rare cases, a Gigantamax Pokémon can appear instead of a Dynamax Pokémon. Only certain species of Pokémon can Gigantamaxand even among such species, only very rare specimens will be able to.
From Friday, November 15, 2019, until early January 2020, players will be more likely to encounter Gigantamax Butterfree in Max Raid Battles. Gigantamaxing changes a Pokémons size, power, and appearance and allows it to use a G-Max Move. A connection to the internet will be required to participate in Max Raid Battles.
New Items and Features for Training Pokémon
New items that will help Trainers raise their Pokémon will be introduced in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.
Normally, Pokémon earn Exp. Points through battling. If a Trainer uses an Exp. Candy, they will be able to give their Pokémon Exp. Points directly. Exp. Candy can be earned in Max Raid Battles.

What Are Gigantamax Pokmon Sword And Shield
Gigantamax Pokémon are Pokémon that, when they Dynamax, not only grow in size, but change form completely.
Your Alcremie, for example, will go from being a cute little blob of sentient cream to a towering cake monstrosity.
Only a specific list of Pokémon have the ability to Gigantamax. You’ll know if you’ve caught a Pokémon with the Gigantamax factor, because, when you look at its summary, there will be a special red X symbol between its name and the picture of the Poké Ball it lives in.
Due to this each Gigantamax form has its own entry in the Pokédex, through, thankfully, these entries are not required for completing the Pokédex.
Like Dynamaxing, Gigantamaxing will only last for three turns, but the Gigantamax Pokémon will also be able to use a unique move, called a G-Max move, that have a number of special effects.
Finally, it’s important to note that, while you can breed Pokémon that have the Gigantamax factor with other Pokémon, both Gigantamax and not, the baby Pokémon they create won’t be able to Gigantamax.
Sadly, you can’t breed your Gigantamax Pokémon army.
What Are Limited Release Gigantamax Pokmon In Pokmon Sword And Shield
Limited release Gigantamax Pokémon are special Gigantamax Pokémon that aren’t usually available in the games and only appear during specific dates.
Instead of being able to track them down in the Wild Area , you’ll have to wait for them to be added to the spawn table.
You can regularly update your Wild Area spawn table by connecting your Nintendo Switch to the Internet or by getting the latest Wild Area new via the Mystery Gift function.

Searching The Wild Area
Gigantamax battles look just like normal Max Raid battles on the outside. The “purple” beam of light emerging from a Pokemon den does not indicate a Gigantamax raid explicitly — purple beams indicate rare encounters, not Gigantamax encounters.
Rather, you have to go up to each raid and look at what’s inside. Gigantamax raids will always be 5-star difficulties, and like Dynamax raids, you’ll only get a silhouette and the typing of the Pokemon you’re about to fight to go by. How To Get Gigantamax Pokemon
As previously mentioned, just because a species of Pokemon has a Gigantamax form doesn’t mean that every Pokemon of that species is actually capable of Gigantamaxing. Presently, the only way to obtain a Gigantamax Pokemon in Sword and Shield is to encounter it in Max Raid battles. You can fairly easily tell if a Raid features a Gigantamax Pokemon by its silhouette when you interact with a raid den; if the silhouette looks different than the Pokemon’s typical sprite, then you’ll be battling its Gigantamax form.
If you manage to defeat the Gigantamax Pokemon in battle, then you’ll have an opportunity to capture it. Unfortunately, you aren’t guaranteed to catch the Pokemon, and if it pops out of the Poke Ball you threw, it’ll run away and you’ll need to wait for it to appear in another Max Raid. It also appears you can’t pass down the ability to Gigantamax through breeding. On the bright side, however, most Pokemon you encounter through raids have at least a couple of perfect IVs, and you now have a means of changing their natures thanks to new Mint items, so it’s possible to make them viable for competitive battling.

Each Gigantamax Pokémon can only be found in a specific Pokémon Den in the Wild Area.
Visiting one of these Dens does not guarantee you an encounter with a Gigantamax Pokémon, but, if you are after a specific Gigantamax Pokémon, then it’s a good idea to know which Den they can appear in. That way you know where to toss your Wishing Pieces.

Players who scored one of these starters using the DLC can take advantage of this Mystery Gift, alongside the Charmander gifted to players once they complete the story, in order to collect all three starter Pokémon with a Gigantamax factor.
Todays update to Pokémon Home, version 1.4, boasts the addition of a model viewer as well as a catch calendar for players to track when they first added Pokémon to their collection.
Pokémon Home is available both on mobile and on the Switch and allows players to curate all their Pokémon into one hub where they can keep a track of their collection as they endeavor to catch em all.
How Do I Get A Gigantamax Pokmon
Unfortunately, its not as easy as just catching one of the listed Pokémon not all Pokémon of a certain species can Gigantamax. Unless you got your Pokémon through a gift or an event, like Eevee, Pikachu, or Meowth, youve got to catch them in Max Raid Battles. To put it simply: the Pokémon you caught randomly in the Galar region wont Gigantamax.
Theyre rare, but developer Game Freak does have some events planned to make certain Pokémon less rare for a time. Until early January, for instance, players have a slightly higher chance of encountering Gigantamax Butterfree in Max Raid Battles across the games Wild Area. The game’s NPC trainers that join you when you’re alone are random and often bring weak or disadvantageous Pokemon to the battle. You don’t want to be teamed up with the one who brought a Magikarp to a Gigantamax fight, so try to use the search function to pair up with other trainers or friends as often as possible.
