HOW TO GET ANY GIGANTAMAX POKEMON REALLY FAST! | Pokemon Sword And Shield Tutorial

Gigantamax battles look just like normal Max Raid battles on the outside. The “purple” beam of light emerging from a Pokemon den does not indicate a Gigantamax raid explicitly — purple beams indicate rare encounters, not Gigantamax encounters.

Rather, you have to go up to each raid and look at what’s inside. Gigantamax raids will always be 5-star difficulties, and like Dynamax raids, you’ll only get a silhouette and the typing of the Pokemon you’re about to fight to go by. To spot Gigantamax battles, you’ll have to both know what Pokemon you’re looking for upfront .

What Is The Difference Between Dynamax And Gigantamax

Dynamax Pokémon can power up, become bigger, and have 1.5x their usual stats, all Pokémon of a certain species will be able to Dynamax. Still, only special individual Pokémon will be able to Gigantamax. This will replace the Dynamax function for these rare Pokémon. The Pokemon that Gigantamax will become even bigger, power up even further and receive an even bigger stat buff as well as gain access to a G-Max move, which is an even more bombastic version of their already strengthened Dynamax move.

How Do I Get A Gigantamax Pokmon

Unfortunately, its not as easy as just catching one of the listed Pokémon not all Pokémon of a certain species can Gigantamax. Unless you got your Pokémon through a gift or an event, like Eevee, Pikachu, or Meowth, youve got to catch them in Max Raid Battles. To put it simply: the Pokémon you caught randomly in the Galar region wont Gigantamax.

Theyre rare, but developer Game Freak does have some events planned to make certain Pokémon less rare for a time. Until early January, for instance, players have a slightly higher chance of encountering Gigantamax Butterfree in Max Raid Battles across the games Wild Area. Gigantamax battles will change over time, Game Freak said, meaning your chances of catching them will, too.

Players who have the Isle of Armor expansion can feed Max Soup to any Pokémon with Gigantamax potential to give them the ability to Gigantamax.

How To Take Advantage Of This Event

Competitive players will undoubtedly want to look for new Gigantamax Pokémon to add to their teams during this event. Fortunately, every single one of these is legal under the current VGC ruleset.

Some of the best picks from this pool of Gigantamax Pokémon for VGC include Lapras and Charizard, among others. Lapras G-Max Resonance can deal massive Ice-type damage while also setting up an Aurora Veil. Notably, this Aurora Veil effect does not need hail to stay active. Charizards G-Max Wildfire can deal powerful Fire-type damage, and it also does chip damage to opponents for four turns. By the end of the fourth turn, afflicted Pokémon will have lost two-thirds of their HP through chip damage alone.

    Soft Reboot Den Glitch

Since the chances of Gengar spawning are so low, our recommendation is that you use the den glitch to speed things up and save your Wishing Pieces.

To use this technique, save your game just before using your Wishing Piece, then go ahead and use it on the den. Youre looking for the purple beam of light, but if you see red then quickly soft reboot your game and try again until you have the desired result.

The key is in the timing when you do this dont soft reboot too quickly, and dont wait too long either. You can actually set your text speed slower to make this process easier.

Once youre in the Max Raid Battle with Gengar its just a case of beating him up and using either a Repeat Ball if you have caught that species before, and an Ultra Ball if not. If you have a Master Ball, then, of course, use it if youre very keen on catching Gengar.

You can check out our guide on how to join Max Raid Battles if you need help with the process.

Gigantamax Toxtricity Amped Form And Low Key Form Explained

As we mentioned earlier, Gigantamax Toxtricity has two different forms depending on which version of the game you have. Those who catch it in Pokemon Sword will get the Amped Form, whereas those who have Pokemon Shield will get the Low Key Form instead.

The main different here are the slight differences in its appearance, namely the color palette used. The Amped Form is purple and yellow, while the Low Key Form is a blue and purple color.

Additionally, there is a slight change in the abilities that each form has. The Amped Form has the Plus ability which increases Special Attack damage by 50% when battling with Plus or Minus. The Low Key Form has the Minus ability, which does the same thing.

‘pokmon Sword And Shield’ Gigantamax & Dynamax: List Of All Transformations

How to Get All Gigantamax Pokémon in Pokémon Sword & Shield

Just about every generation of the Pokémon franchise introduces a new battle mechanic, and Sword and Shieldare no exception.

For the Gen 8 games, Dynamax and Gigantamax are a new mechanic that can turn the tide of battle. This phenomenon allows Pokémon to grow larger in size and gain access to more powerful attacks.

Mastering Dynamax and Gigantamax is not easy, as you’ll need to have perfect timing and strategy to overcome other trainers who look to use this new mechanic for themselves.

Here’s everything you need to know about Dynamax and Gigantamax in Pokémon Sword and Shield, including a list of Pokémon that can undergo this new transformation.

    WHAT IS DYNAMAX

Dynamax is similar to Mega Evolution in that it’s a temporary change. Pokémon that Dynamax will stay transformed for only three turns. In that time, you can overpower your opponent’s Pokémon and utilize special moves called Max Moves.

Every Pokémon has the ability to Dynamax no matter which stage of evolution it’s in. Dynamax also doesn’t affect stats aside from HP. In other words, this transformation will increase the Pokémon’s HP stat but nothing else.

Each Pokémon has a Dynamax level that can be increased with Dynamax Candy. Each time the level is increased, the Pokémon’s HP will increase by five percent. This item can be earned in Max Raid Battles.

    WHAT IS GIGANTAMAX

Here’s a list of Pokémon that can Gigantamax, as well as their unique G-Max attack:

What Is The Difference Between Dynamax And Gigantamax Pokemon

Gigantamax Pokemon are a unique form of Dynamax Pokemon that are mostly the same in terms of stats, moves, and abilities, but with two main exceptions. The first is that their appearance when Dynamaxed is different from just a larger form of the Pokemon: Gigantamax Pokemon have unique visuals that are even more intimidating or awesome than usual Dynamax Pokemon. The second is that they gain a special “G-Max” move when Dynamaxed that normal Pokemon don’t have.

These Pokemon are incredibly powerful and can only be obtained by defeating and capturing them in Max Raid battles or, for a few specific Pokemon, through special gifts from NPCs.

How Do You Get Max Soup

Getting Max Soup is pretty simple. Much like how Mario increases in size by eating mushrooms, youll also need a special shroom that only grows in certain areas in the Isle of Armor to make your Max Soup. These are called Max Mushrooms. They can be commonly found in the Courageous Cavern, Brawlers Cave, Forest of Focus, and the Warm-up Tunnel. Keep in mind, Max Mushrooms only spawn in these areas after youve completed three Max Raid Battles.

To make Max Soup, youll need to gather three Max Mushrooms. Once you have the required materials, speak to the Dojo Member located in the kitchen area of the Master Dojo. Hell make as much Max Soup you need as long as you have the ingredients.

Once you have your Max Soup, just give it to your Pokémon with the potential to Gigantamax and youre done. You can now Gigantamax your Pokémon in your battles.
