Buying Guide For Best Pokmon Booster Boxes

Visiting The Best Pokémon Card Collection in Australia!

The Pokémon Trading Card Game first launched in the United States in October of 1998, and American Pokémon fans instantly fell in love with the highly customizable, collectible card game as it blossomed from its initial 151 creatures to well over 800 and counting years later.

Some Pokémon TCG enthusiasts arent satisfied with buying individual booster packs of 10 cards a piece, and those who want to quickly complete their collections or optimize their competitive decks with the best Pokémon cards that each set has to offer often look to buying booster boxes instead. Every Pokémon booster box contains 36 individual booster packs, and since the average Pokémon TCG series offers 130 to over 210 individual Pokémon cards to collect, its easy to see why a booster box is a great alternative for dedicated fans.

While we wish that we couldve caught em all, we investigated more than enough Pokémon booster boxes to know how to decide which ones are the best choice for Pokéfans.

love.

Recently Updated Pokemon Card Values

The following is a list of all Pokémon cards that have recently had their price values updated. Clicking on a specific Pokémon card image will take you to that card’s listing. Selecting the card’s name will bring you to the individual Pokemon listing pages which are further broken down by TCG set.

First Edition Shadowless Holographic Blastoise

Blastoise has always been a fan favorite from the first generation, so its no surprise that any early, rare prints of this Pokémon are worth big money. Shadowless cards are similar to their regular First Edition counterparts minus the inclusion of the 1st Edition logo. Their name stems from the lack of drop shadows for the illustration window and they are more valuable than the prints that followed. Blastoise was incredibly rare in 1999, which means its considered a novelty today. It would be difficult for the untrained eye to differentiate the many versions of these;initial Blastoise prints. Quite a few can be found on eBay, but coming across the;real First Edition Shadowless Holographic would be quite an impressive feat.

First Edition Holographic Charizard

Estimated PSA 10 Gem Mint Value: $24,000

The #4 Charizard is by far the most desirable of all the first edition Pokémon cards.

Charizard made its first appearance in the Pokémon Red and Blue video games released for the Nintendo Game Boy and Game Boy Color back in the mid-90s and trainers have been relying on the character’s overpowering fire and flying abilities to win battles ever since.

Just how powerful are its fire abilities?

Well, simply refer to the bottom of the card’s front and you can see that Charizard is capable of melting boulders and starting forest fires with ease.

Charizard’s appeal as a dragon and one of the more rare cards certainly adds to its popularity but I think where this card gets an extra boost in value comes from the fact that Charizard appeared on the cover art of the Pokémon Red video game:

That additional exposure greatly increased the character’s notoriety and has driven up the value of this card similar to the effect we see with the Garbage Pail Kids card, Adam Bomb, and its status as the original cover art for that series.

Regardless of why this card is so popular, its value will continue to soar just like the lovable flying dragon creature itself.

Lucario And Melmetal Gx

Best Pokemon Cards In The World

It’s always fun to see one of Pokémon’s best visual designs with one of its worst, and Lucario teamed up with Melmetal is a perfect example of that amusing disconnect. Still, it’s an excellent recent card with a very good defense ability in Full Metal Wall GX, to the point where it’s one of those cards you could pratically build a deck around. Or just imagine the bizarre buddy comedy between Nutblob and the Kung-Fu Fox, it’s up to you.

    Blow Your Own Echoing Horn

*NEW* The Best Pokemon Card Box of 2020.

The Echoing Horn Trainer card is abit unusual; when you play it, you get to put a Basic Pokémon from your opponent’sdiscard pile onto their Bench. This may seem like a rather innocuous effect, but the consequences can be game-changing. Consider how much easier the gamewould be if you could Knock Out the same multi-Prize card, low-HP Pokémon everyturn instead of staring down a massive Pokémon VMAX. Decks that include Bench-hittingPokémon like Zeraora V, Cramorant V, or Rapid StrikeUrshifu VMAX, or prioritize Trainer cards that switch the opponent’s Pokémoninto the Active Spot, are poised to take full advantage of Echoing Horn.

Would you like to hearanother great use for Echoing Horn? Increasing the number of Pokémon on theopponent’s Benchespecially Pokémon Vmakes it easier to attack using GalarianZapdos V and enables players to get the most out of Ice Rider Calyrex VMAX’sRide of the High King attack.

Echoing Horn is particularlyuseful in the Arceus & Dialga & Palkia-GX / Zacian V deck. Thispowerful archetype is designed to take an extra Prize card with each Knock Outand typically includes Boss’s Orders, which means that the opponent plays Pokémon like Kricketune V and Crobat Vat greater risk. With Mawile-GXand Echoing Horn in the deck, opposing Pokémon are no longer safe in thehand, on the Bench, or in the discard pile. Given its utility in so manyways, you’re sure to hear about Echoing Horn more than once.

Rule The Roost With Articuno Zapdos And Moltres

Prepare yourself as theLegendary Pokémon of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres soar into battlebut not asyou’ve seen them before! These Pokémon boast powerful attacks and Abilities, plussurprising types that position them well in the metagame.

Galarian Articuno V‘sReconstitute Ability makes this Pokémon a great asset on the battlefield.Discarding 2 cards to draw 1 card may seem like an underwhelming effect. However, there are many decks that require specific cards to be present in thediscard pile to successfully execute their strategy. For example, Mewtwo &Mew-GX benefits from having a range of Pokémon-GX in the discardpile, while all of the new Castform require at least 8 Stadium cards in the discard pile to use theirWeather Reading Ability.

Reconstitute can alsobe used to discard cards that are not pertinent to the matchup, thereby makingthe player less susceptible to drawing an undesirable hand when the opponentplays a Marnie or a Reset Stamp. Galarian Articuno V is a Psychic type and aBasic Pokémon, which means it can be retrieved from the deck using the new FogCrystal Item card, and it’s a natural fit for the Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX andMewtwo & Mew-GX decks.

Pokemon Players Club Shiny Espeon: $2000

If you ever wanted proof about how much a Pokemon cards price can change just because of the Pokemon on it, you need to look further than the Pokemon Players Club Shiny Espeon. This card is almost identical in story to the Umbreon card you saw just a moment ago, but required only 40,000 experience points instead of 70,000.

Despite being more available, Troll and Toad has this card for a slightly higher price of just under $2000. This is likely because Espeons shiny form is more noticeable than Umbreons, since the bright neon-green fur is a lot more distinctive and Espeon has its own unique degree of popularity.

Which Pokemon Booster Box To Invest In

Thats the big one. Many players want to know which is the best Pokemon booster box to buy for profit or to invest in. The idea is simple. You want to buy a Pokemon booster box now, hoping its price will go up, and youll be able to sell it for more money than you paid for it.

Many YouTubers will claim that you should go for this or that booster box, to make guaranteed profits, but the truth isnt as simple. Sure, some boxes have a bigger chance of gaining value in the future, but thats not a guarantee.

Lets say that a certain booster box contains three high value cards that are staples in the format. While the price of the box could go up, these cards could very well get a reprint in the next set, or in a special product, and the price of the box would plummet.

So is it impossible to profit from a Pokemon booster box? Certainly not, as we have seen booster boxes raise to very high prices often enough. We just want to warn you not to invest blindly. Actually, there are some rules you should follow.

What to Pay Attention to When Investing?

  • Only invest money that you can afford to lose.
  • Dont treat your Pokemon Booster Boxes, as your retirement plan. These should at most only be a small part of your portfolio.
  • Keep your Booster Boxes safe from harm, such as water damage, etc.
  • Okay, Ill be Careful. Which One to Invest in?

As we said, its impossible to tell. However, the most booster boxes that usually go up in price, have some or multiple of the following things:

    First Edition Holographic Clefairy

Pokemon HD: Rarest Pokemon Card Top 10

Estimated PSA 10 Gem Mint Value: $2,500

Clefairy is a lovable Pokémon that is incapable of fighting and first evolves from Cleffa and later to Clefable after exposure to a Moon Stone.

The adorable creature uses its small wings to store moonlight that can allow it to float away when in danger.

Known for its extreme shyness, Clefairy is rarely seen and will only emerge from its mountain shelter under a full moon.

Almost as rarely seen in high grade as Clefairy itself, this card can bring $2,500 or more in PSA 10 condition.

    Use Free Valuation Sites

Another great way to figure out how much a Pokemon card is worth is to use card valuation sites. These websites allow a user to input a couple details about their card, such as its name and number, and be returned with results about its estimated value.

Websites like CardMavin compile up-to-date information about how much individual cards are selling for across the internet and use that information to make an estimate about the cards current value. This is the easiest way to check what a Pokemon card is going for in the present market.

Reshiram and Charizard together are about as powerful together as can be expected. One of their abilities allows them to add 10 damage to the attack per damage counter on the Pokemon, basically returning all of the damage it’s taken.

Then there’s Flare Strike, which does 230 damage with the only stipulation being that it can’t be used again next turn. The big one though is Double Blaze-GX, which does a whopping 300 damage that isn’t affected by effects.
