Pokemon Lets Go Squirtle

Adding Squirtle to your Pokémon collection is just as easy as Charmander. After you visit Bill, the Pokémaniac and he gives you his tickets to the S.S. Anne, youll need to head south out of Cerulean City.

To get through Cerulean City to the south, youll need to go through the house that was robbed by Team Rocket. After speaking with Bill, the police officer who was blocking your way will run off to chase a Squirtle allowing you access,

You wont be able to travel Celadon City just yet as the guard wont let you pass. You will, however, be able to travel through the tunnel to Vermillion City.

Once you arrive in Vermillion City, you should see the officer standing near the Pokémon Centre with the Squirtle she chased. Provided youve caught enough Pokémon, shell give the Squirtle to you to look after. I had caught 77 by the time I arrived, which should be easy to do while youre playing.

Trade With Someone Who Did One Of These Things

There are some people who did one of the above transfer methods as soon as Pokémon Home came out. Or they caught one during the Pokémon Day 2020 Max Raid Battles. If they have a Squirtle to spare, the easiest way to get it is to trade with them. Surprise Trade and GTS can also get you a Squirtle, just be careful about those hacked ‘mons going around.

Despite those giant cannons on its back, Blastoise’s best stats are Defense and Special Defense. This makes it more suited to being a stall/support Pokémon. Rapid Spin is a great move for it the attack clears away nasty moves like Stealth Rock or Leech Seed. Of course, you’ll still want to give it a powerful Water-type move. Just also consider giving it an Ice-type attack and something like the new Body Press to surprise opponents.

How To Get Squirtle In Pokemon Yellow

Pokemon is is having quite a year for its 20th anniversary with two brand new mainline games coming later this year, along with games like Pokken Tournament and Pokemon GO as well. The actual 20th anniversary was on February 27th and brought us the three classic Pokemon games on the 3DS Virtual Console. While Red and Blue limit you to one of the original three starters, all three can be obtained in Pokemon Yellow.

As Pokemon Yellow is the one game to be somewhat based off the anime, you instead start with Pikachu as your starter, which leaves Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle out of the fun from the start. However, each one of these three can be gotten separately without too much work in the early portions of the game.

Upon getting to Cerulean City, you will be able to get two of the three starters, though for these purposes we will start with Charmander as it doesnt require anything special. Go towards the north exit of Cerulean and fight your way up Nugget Bridge. After fighting the Team Rocket member at the top that tries to recruit you, go north and west just a bit to get inside a small rock area where a trainer is standing. Talk to him and he will give you Charmander. Unlike later games, you dont have to have a space open in your party, as it will send Charmander directly to the box.
