  • How to Defeat Sierra

Defeating Sierra is fairly straightforward: choose your mostpowerful Water-, Ice-, and Psychic-type Pokémon and get to work. Be sure tochoose Pokémon with both a Fast Attack and Charged Attack that match thePokémon’s type to deal maximum damage. Lead with a Psychic-type Pokémon, preferably one with a Charged Attack that powers up quickly to get through Sierra’sProtect Shields right out of the gate.

Slowbro is the outlier here. You can easily defeat Sierra’s Pokémonwith Water-, Ice-, and Psychic-type Pokémon alone if not for her Slowbro. Ratherthan adding a Pokémon to your team solely to counter Slowbro, instead give oneof your Water-, Ice-, or Psychic-type Pokémon a second Charged Attack that exploitsSlowbro’s weaknesses. Slowbro is weak to Grass-, Electric-, Bug-, Ghost-, andDark-type moves.

Learn Which Pokmon The Team Go Rocket Leaders May Use In Battle And How Best To Counter Them

Battling a Team GO Rocket Leader is a lot more challenging thantaking on a Team GO Rocket Grunt. But with some key knowledge and shrewdstrategy, you can send Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo packing. When you do, you’ll beable to catch Sierra’s Shadow Nidoran, Cliff’s Shadow Grimer, or Arlo’s Shadow Gligar.

Before diving into strategies for each individual Team GORocket Leader, here are a few general tips that can help you across the board. Oneimportant difference between Trainer Battles and battling Team GO Rocket Leadersis their use of Protect Shields. Team GO Rocket Leaders have two ProtectShields that they will use against your first two Charged Attacks. Because ofthis, it’s best to begin the battle with a Pokémon that has a Charged Attackthat powers up quickly, so you can fire off your first two Charged Attacks as soonas possible. When using your subsequent Charged Attacks, be thoughtful about timingand utilize their power when it will be most effective.

It’s also worth noting that the Team GO Rocket Leaders’Pokémon can have any Fast Attack or Charged Attack currently available to thatPokémon. You won’t know which Fast Attack or Charged Attack their Pokémon will haveuntil you’re battling them, so try to familiarize yourself with each Pokémon’savailable attacks and pick your own Pokémon team accordingly.

How To Beat The Team Go Rocket Leaders

As always we want to give you some general tips and tricks for beating the Team GO Rocket Leaders, before diving into the specific counters against Arlo, Cliff, and Sierra. The first thing you should do is make sure to setup your team so you can swap Pokémon right away. Whenever you change characters your opponent will hesitate before attacking again, letting you deliver 2-3 fast attacks without taking any damage. Just place your actual first Pokémon in the second or third slot and swap to them as soon as the fight starts.

The nex thing to do when facing one of these foes is focus on their shields. Grunts dont use them, but the Leaders will against your first two Charged Attacks. This means you dont actually need to worry about dealing damage with these attacks. You just want something that charges up fast so you can use it and burn off a shield. Once the two shields are gone you can turn your attention to actually knocking them out with the Charged Attacks.

With those two tips out of the way its time to start forming your team. Below weve listed out the best counters against Arlo, Cliff, and Sierras teams. Of course, their moveset can vary and which ones they use will be a bit random, so you need to be ready for anything. If a counter isnt working well try another from the list, as the moveset is likely not working well against your counter Pokémon. So now lets get into it, starting with how to beat Arlo in May 2021.

Overall Team To Beat Cliff In Pokmon Go

Now that we have gone through all the potential pokémon that Team Go Rocket Leader Cliff can put out, you might have noticed a few patterns. Cliffs first and second pokémon can be beaten by a good psychic pokémon while his third should be countered by a strong water-type pokémon. With these ideas in mind, the best lineup to beat Cliff in Pokémon Go would be to have Mewtwo, Metagross, and Mega Blastoise on your team.

As one of the strongest psychic type legendary pokémon in-game, Mewtwo would be able to steamroll through Cliffs first and second pokémon. If it fails, or you need a backup pokémon, Metagross can carry the day.

As for Mega Blastoise, it is a good pick against Cliffs Shadow Arcanine, Charizard, and Tyranitar due to its strong water-type attacks. If you do not have Mega Blastoise, a good alternative would be legendary water pokémon like Kyogre. If you dont have it either, you could use a rock-type pokémon like Rampardos or Rhyperior and let your psychic-type pokémon clean up the rest.

Fairy, Flying, Psychic, Electric and Grass-type moves are all ones that Poliwrath is not a fan of as they can do some serious damage so pick one of those!

Mewtwo is the choice of Pokemon again here to make quick work of this scrap, but again, there are other Pokemon to choose from if you dont have one as Alakazam, Moltres, Metagross and Raikou will also put up a good fight.

Once the battle is over, players can capture his Grimer. They can either purify the darkness in its heart or keep it in the PC forever. Completing this battle will also use up the Rocket Radar. Trainers looking to battle Arlo and Sierra will need to find enough pieces to create another one.

    Tips For Defeating Cliff

Unlike standard Team GO Rocket Grunts, Leaders can use Shields. Leaders will use up one of their shields every time you use a Charge Move, so its good to have a Pokemon with a Charge Move that has a low energy requirement such as Machamp with Cross Chop so you can burn through their shields quickly and hit their later Pokemon hard with a stronger Charge Move with a higher energy requirement.

According to a set of tips from user Paraprosdokian7 and LanAkou, the Pokemon used by Team GO Rocket Leaders have souped up attack stats. That means that its not only important to use Pokemon that can deal super effective damage but ones that can resist their attacks. You can bait the leaders into using up all their shields quickly if you use fast charging Charge Moves constantly in the beginning. That way your more powerful Charge Moves can hit the opponent without a hitch. If you can kill a Pokemon easily with Fast Moves, save up your Charge Moves for the next Pokemon they send out especially if that Pokemon isnt weak to your Fast Moves. How Do I Challenge The Leaders Of Team Go Rocket

While Team GO Rocket Grunts have been taking over PokéStops since July 2019, beginning in November 2019, their leaders have joined the fight. By fighting six Grunts, you can collect Mysterious components, which can, in turn, be used to create a Rocket Radar. Once in possession of a Rocket Radar, you can track down Team GO Rocket Hideouts, and challenge one of three Team GO Rocket Executives.

These Executives are much stronger than the Grunts and actually know how to use their Shields, so prepare for a tough battle and prioritize burning through their shields early. Each of the three executives will reward you with their first Shadow Pokémon, which has the potential to be Shiny, and a Strange Egg, if you have room in your bag.

Additionally, if you defeat all three Team GO Rocket Executives, you can be rewarded with a Super Rocket Radar once per month that will lead you to the Boss of Team GO Rocket: Giovanni!
