Pokemon GO is introducing Scatterbug, Spewpa, and Vivillon to the game using a unique method. Pokemon GO trainers will have to send and receive gifts with their friends in the game to get Scatterbug and enough candies to evolve a Vivillon. The Vivillon will have different colors on its wings depending on where in the world that gift came from.
Pokemon GO‘s Winter Holiday recently started and introduced season-specific spawns, including the new shiny Bergmite. It also changed up the aesthetic of the map, with holiday lights wrapped around trees and small snowbanks at the base of Pokestops and Gyms. But Niantic was holding back one more surprise from trainers at the start of the event and revealed that surprise after the event started. In the spirit of the holiday season, when family and friends sometimes send each other cards with other surprises inside them, Pokemon GO is introducing Pokemon encounters with its postcards.

Pokmon Debuts And Spawns
As part of this year’s latest Pokémon GO event, new costumed Pokémon are set to appear. One of the Pokémon that players can expect to find is the elusive Party Top Hat Pikachu, which also has a chance of being caught by lucky players as a Shiny version. Starting with this event, players will also be able to evolve ‘Hoothoot wearing a New Years outfit’ into ‘Noctowl wearing a New Years outfit.’
As several of the Pokémon that appear during Pokémon GO’s latest event are expected to be in costume, there are also several types that will appear more frequently in the wild. The Pokémon that players can expect to encounter include Party Top hat Pikachu, New Years Outfit Hoothoot, and Party Hat Wurmple. Players who wish to collect these festive monsters can find them scattered throughout the land of Pokémon GO more frequently during the course of the event.

Another Pokemon Go Battle Weekend will take place in the middle of January, this time themed around the Hoenn regions Champion, Steven Stone.
The Great League, Ultra League, and Master League will all be active and Trainers will be able to earn an Elite Charged TM, Rare Candy, and Rings inspired by Steven Stone by completing Timed Research.

How To Catch Kecleon In Pokmon Go
After Chespin Community Day wraps, players will find Kecleon at PokéStops, seemingly randomly. Players will have to tap on a PokéStop to see if Kecleon is there the Pokémon will be barely visible, but its signature jagged red marking is unmistakable. When players attempt to spin a PokéStop disc with a Kecleon on it, theyll receive the message, Theres an invisible obstacle in your way. Its preventing you from collecting items Tapping the Kecleon will make it hop off the PokéStop disc and appear on the games world map. Kecleon can then be caught like any other Pokémon Go encounter, though youll need to be close to the PokéStop to see it.
Now that we can catch Kecleon, the other obvious question is… what took so long? Thats something Niantic has yet to comment on, but Kecleons long-awaited appearance in Pokémon Go arrives at a seemingly strange time. Kecleon skipped the Hoenn Throwback Challenge in 2020 and the Hoenn Celebration event in 2021, and some players were expecting the Pokémon to show up at Pokémon Go Tour Hoennnext month in Las Vegas. But ticket holders and attendees for that event may get access to another coveted catch, Shiny Kecleon, which is not yet confirmed to be in Pokémon Go.

Pokemon Go Quietly Adds Helpful New Change
Over the last few weeks, Pokemon Go players have been exchanging gifts with one another in hopes of obtaining all the different variations of Vivillon. Players can only encounter Scatterbug by collecting postcards from other players, and opening all those gifts can easily fill up a player’s storage space. Normally, when storage space is full, the game will prompt the player to manage their items before opening a new gift. However, a new prompt was quietly added to the game, allowing players the option to open the gift anyway, without managing items. If they choose this option, they’ll lose out on the enclosed items, but still receive Stardust.

For a lot of players, this change is going to be really helpful, and the timing couldn’t be better. A lot of the same hardcore players that are trying to get all the Vivillon variants likely won’t need the Poke Balls, Berries, and Potions that are typically found in gifts anyway. For players that do need those items, they can continue to do things exactly as they have before. Players that do choose the Stardust option could end up missing out on something really helpful, like the occasional Rare Candy, but they’ll just have to weigh the odds on that for themselves!

New Celebratory Message For Breaking Records
Trainers who catch XXS or XXL Pokémonor find smaller XS- or XL-sized Pokémon than they caught previouslycan enjoy a new celebratory message when they break their record.
Trainers need to catch at least three of any particular Pokémon to set a record for that Pokémon.

It turns out that this Pokémon, seen hanging around Trainers who have picked up a suspicious coin, is Gimmighoul, who was originally discovered in the Paldea region!
