Build An Army Manage Your Bag
There are two areas of the game that register the Pokemon you catch:
- Bag: these are the Pokemon you actually have available to you.
- Pokedex: this shows all the Pokemon you’ve caught, those you’ve seen and details the evolution paths.
There’s no need to carry every type of Pokemon as a growing collection in your bag – that’s what the Pokedex is for.
It’s better to keep only the Pokemon you need: that’s an army to fight with in Gym and Raid battles. You’ll need high power versions of Pokemon, but it’s better to have a number of powerful Blissey than one Blissey and a Caterpie, Metapod, Kakuna and so on, because those Pokemon – once registered and evolved – won’t really do much for you. You can also feed a Razz Berry to a Pokémon to make it slightly easier to capture. If it breaks out of your Poké ball, you’ll need to feed it another berry. Using stronger levels of Poké balls will also make it more likely to capture a Pokémon.

When Do Elite Raids Happen
Elite Raids can only start at one of the following local times:
Trainers will see a special Raid Egg on top of an EX Gym 24 hours before the Raid starts, and the Elite Raid Eggs will also be visible on the Nearby radar, and in Niantic Campfire.
Elite Raids will be infrequent. This weekend is the first for a while, though they will reappear during the Season of Light.
Despite Elite Raids taking place at EX Gyms, Trainers are not required to activate the Gym, nor will increased activity at an EX Gym increase the odds of an Elite Raid appearing on that Gym.
Niantic told us that the choice and number of EX Gyms which will host Elite Raids is under their control, and will remain something they can fine-tune in the future. Please do not Raid local EX Gyms ahead of time, it will not make a difference for the Elite Raids.
Please note that the first Elite Raid will begin at 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., or 5:00 p.m. local time on October 16, 2022, depending on when their Raid Eggs appear.
