Where To Find Moonstones In Pokemon: Sword & Shield

FULL MOON STONE TEAM!

Finding Moon Stones in Sword and Shield is a bit easier than finding and capturing the Pokemon associated with them. There are a few places that players can look to get their hands on a Moonstone and a few methods to snagging the elusive rock:

  • Players can sometimes find a Moonstone via the Digging Duo in the Wild Area. Unfortunately, the spawn rates are quite low for these rare items and trainers will be forced to fork over 500 Watts for each attempt they make. With a wide pool of items for the brothers to pick from, it’s not necessarily recommended that players try to farm Moonstones in this way. Currently, the drop rate for a Moon Stone is 3% from the Stamina Brother and 4% from the Skill Brother.
  • There is one Moonstone located in the upper right corner of the Dusty Bowl area. Players can find it near a massive rock and behind some bushes.
  • A Moonstone can be found in The Lake of Outrage. Players have a chance to find multiple evolution stones here and will need the second Rotom Bike upgrade found on Route 9 to navigate the waters here.
  • In the Crown Tundra DLC, a Moonstone can be grabbed on the left side of the Tunnel to the Top map.

Is Nidoking A Good Pokemon

Nidoking excels as a powerful wallbreaker with Sheer Force and impressive coverage. A nice bonus is that it gets two stab moves, Earth Power and Sludge Wave, that benefit from Sheer Force, making them both excellent choices in top of being two good offensive types.

Which Pokmon Evolve Using Sinnoh Stones

Pokémon can evolve in many different ways. One of these ways is by evolutionary stone or item. The difference between these two is that an evolutionary stone is used on a Pokémon and then causes instant Evolution, while an evolutionary item is held by a Pokémon and then causes Evolution when a certain event happens, such as if the Pokémon is traded or leveled up. Both evolutionary items and stones are consumed upon the Pokémon’s Evolution. Read more about Evolution

How Iv Affects Max Cp

Lets say I have two Snorlaxes and I am a level 40 player . Both are currently at 2500 CP, but:

  • one has 100% IVs and Max CP of 3355
  • the other has 0% IVs and Max CP of 2926

If I chose to power up the 100% IV Snorlax to its max CP, I would need to power it up all the way to 3355 CP, which is the max CP Snorlax can have . However, if I were to power up the 0% IV Snorlax, it would only go to 2926 CP which is the max it can have with 0% IVs.

IV %
429

When it comes to a Snorlax, you can expect there is approximately a 400 CP difference between 100% IVs and 0, but lets not forget that Snorlax is one of the highest CPs in the game: this 400 CP difference is around the maximum difference between highest and lowest CP of any given Pokemon.

This really isnt a huge difference. If you have a Pokemon that is in the highest or second highest IV tier, it really is not that far away from perfect Max CP. So evolving a Pokemon with IVs in the first or second tier is a good idea, you dont need to wait for the perfect IVs.

Never power up a Pokémon before evolving it! If you get a bad moveset, its CP value doesnt really matter and you probably dont want to power up it!

The Digging Duo And Evolution Stones In Pokmon Sword And Shield

How to Get Extra Moon Stones in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee

You can find the Digging Duo near the Pokémon Nursery in Bridge Field, which is located in the Wild Area.

For 500 Watts each, you can hire one of these brothers to dig into the ground to uncover a variety of items, which includes Evolution Stones.

The left-hand brother focuses on skills and is able to find rarer items than his sibling, but cant retrieve as many.

In the terms of Evolution Stones, this includes:

  • Dawn Stone
  • Thunder Stone
  • Water Stone

Whichever brother you choose is up to you, but you should know that the brothers will save your game before they start digging. This means that you cant turn off your game if you dont get the item you want.

Its a good idea to stockpile some Watts by investigating Pokémon Dens and completing the Rotom Rally before visiting the Digging Duo to ensure you can get a couple of good digs in.

How The Evolve Collection Challenge Works In Pokmon Go

Collection Challenges in Pokémon Go were released in January 2021 and run alongside certain in-game events. Each Collection Challenge will see you catching a number of Pokémon that, thanks to the event, are either appearing more frequently in the wild or are obtained by completing a certain feature of the game in this case, evolution.

Once youve completed the Collection Challenge by catching or obtaining each Pokémon, youll be rewarded with a number of items and progress for your Elite Collector medal.

The Evolve Collection Challenge is part of the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event and is available for a week after the event to ensure you have enough time to complete it. This means it will be available from Saturday, 20th February at 9am to Sunday, 28th February at 7:59pm .

Collection Challenges can be found on the Today View, which is accessed by pressing the field research button in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. Depending on whether youve been looking at your current field or special research tasks, you may have to scroll to your left.

After accessing Today View, youll find a list of the Pokémon you need to catch to complete the Collection Challenge. Catching a Pokémon in the Collection Challenge rooster will tick it off the list to help you keep track of which Pokémon you still need to obtain.

Good luck completing this Collection Challenge!

Hidden Evolution Stones In The Wild Area In Pokmon Sword And Shield Explained

The best place to find hidden Evolution Stones, however, is the Wild Area. Not only will you be able to find a wide variety of stones, but, if the stone you find is a hidden item, there’s also a slim chance that it will reappear.

Which hidden items reappear in the Wild Area appears to be completely random. This means that, if you’re looking for a specific hidden stone, then try to remember its location and revisit every couple of days.

You never know – you might get lucky!

One of the easiest places to find hidden Evolution Stones in the Wild Area is at the Lake of Outrage.

Once you have the ability to ride your Rotom Bike on water, which is unlocked by helping the Doctor on Route Nine, you’ll be able to cross the lake of Lake of Outrage.

After you reach land again, you’ll be able to find a variety of Evolution Stones all hidden on the ground, including stones like the Water Stone and Dusk Stone.

Where To Find A Moon Stone In Pokemon Lets Go

Karrablast

There are four Pokemon that evolve using a Moon Stone, including:

  • Nidorino to Nidoking
  • Jigglypuff to Wigglytuff
  • Clefairy to Clefable

You can find Moon Stones quite easily in Mt. Moon early on in the game as hidden items. They appear in the craters that you see on the ground inside of the dungeon and respawn every 24 hours.

You can tell when you get near to the stones because your partner Pokemons tail starts to wag really quickly.

We found Moon Stones in the second basement levels of the dungeon, in the craters in the screenshots below:

If youre later on in the game, you can find an additional Moon Stone as a hidden item in the Copycats house, next to her Clefairy dolls.

How To Use Stones

Once you’ve obtained the right elemental stone, you can evolve a compatible Pokemon simply by selecting the item from your bag. You can evolve a Pokemon at any time using an elemental stone, but in the past, it was often prudent to wait until it reached a certain level first if you evolved the Pokemon too early, it was unable to learn some useful attacks that it could only get in its unevolved form.

Sword and Shield, thankfully, do away with this caveat by letting you teach a Pokemon attacks it could previously learn from the Move Reminder, who can be found inside every Pokemon Center across the Galar region. This means you can now evolve a Pokemon with a stone at any time without having to worry about missing out on certain moves that it could only learn in its unevolved form.
