Whats New In Pokmon Go

What Can You Do With Stardust In Pokemon Go
Stardust is the most valuable asset in Pokémon GO. It allows Pokémon trainers to power-up Pokémon, trade with friends, and even purify Shadow Pokémon though, you shouldnt really do that very often. Stardust is earned in-game by catching Pokémon, hatching eggs, battling in raids or GO Battle League, and completing certain Research Tasks.
Getting Stardust From Research
The Stardust boost you get from research tends to be the biggest boost, but is also less reliable. After all, you can catch unlimited Pokemon per day – Pokeball supply and Pokemon spawns permitting – so you can always count on that to provide some Stardust. Research tasks cant be repeated in the same way, so cant be counted on as regularly.
However, theyre still a very helpful resource. There are essentially two types of research; daily tasks and special research. You can get three daily tasks per day by spinning different Pokestops, and Niantic also gives you a daily task for logging in, though this feature was added for the pandemic and may eventually be removed. It is rare though not unheard of for these daily tasks to reward Stardust; in most cases, these Stardust rewards happen during events, when the event comes with its own tasks.
Special research is different. These are themed, storyline quests, which often tie into either catching a Mythical Pokemon or participating in a seasonal storyline, say for Halloween. These special research quests are broken down into lots of individual tasks, and several of these reward Stardust in significantly higher quantities than the platry 100 a pop from catching a Pokemon.

Feed Pokmon Berries At Gyms
When you started playing Pokémon Go, you were asked to choose your team. Your character is in this team for the duration of the game. When you encounter a gym controlled by an opposing team, you can battle there to weaken their Pokémon and take over.
If a gym is already under the control of your team, great job! Feed berries to the Pokémon at the gyms. It will heal them, give them a Combat Power boost, and net you some of that valuable Stardust. The more berries you feed, the bigger the rewards! Each Pokémon can accept ten berries at a time from you.

Stardust is necessary for getting the strongest Pokemon. When you’re powering up your Pokémon, you will need species specific Candy, but you also need a lot of Stardust. You also need Stardust to buy secondary Charge Moves for the Pokémon Go Battle League, Raids, Team GO Rocket battles, and Gyms. The cost grows quickly based on rarity, ranging from 10K for common Pokemon to 100K for Legendary.
You also need Stardust for making trades. Regular trades can cost 100 or less Stardust, depending on your Friendship level. However, trades for new Pokédex entries start at 20,000 Stardust, and Shiny or Legendary trades start at 1,000,000 Stardust! The better friends you are with the other trainer, the lower the cost, but even as Best Friends, it adds up fast.
Now that Team Go Rocket has shown up, you’ll also need Stardust for every Shadow Pokemon you want to purify. Some only cost 1,000 Stardust to purify, while others can cost 3,000 or even 5,000 Stardust, and that’s just the normal Pokémon. If you happen to rescue one of the Legendary Shadow Pokémon from Giovanni, it’s going to cost you 20,000 Stardust to purify! While some players prioritize only the strongest Shadow Pokemon for purification, if you want to earn that medal, it’s ultimately going to cost a lot of Stardust.
In other words, no Stardust, no powering up, no trading, no purifying.

Tips For Getting More Stardust In Pokemon Go
The most straightforward and passive way to get Stardust in Pokemon GO is to capture Pokemon or hatch eggs. Each Pokemon a trainer catches will get them 100 Stardust. However, catching an already evolved Pokemon can earn 200.
A trainer can hatch eggs by walking, and each egg will have a specific amount that will need to be walked to hatch the egg.
- Hatching eggs 2-km eggs give 400 to 800 Stardust.
- 5-km eggs give 800 to 1600 Stardust.
- 7-km eggs give 800 to 1600 Stardust.
- 10-km eggs give 1600-3200 Stardust.

Two of the more difficult but rewarding approaches to earning Stardust include completing Field Research and Raids. For Field Research, a trainer can get thousands of Stardust per completed task. Raids also reward trainers generously, and they can do one free raid per day.
Weather and Spotlight Hours are the other two that are more out of the trainers control, but great opportunities to take advantage of when they arise.
Each Pokemon responds to the real-time weather around a player and has specific weather that boosts them in Pokemon GO. Playing with a Pokemon that is boosted by the current weather will earn the trainer more Stardust.
The Spotlight Hour in Pokémon Go is a special weekly event. It will show one special Pokémon each week and have a bonus effect.

Now that youve got more Stardust than you know what to do with, we should probably explain what youre supposed to do with it. While you can get by catching Pokemon and expanding your PokeDex without the need for Stardust, if you want to make your team the very best, like no one ever was, youll need to keep some Stardust on hand.
Stardusts primary purpose is to power up your Pokemon. You can level your Pokemon up until that white curve above it is as far to the right as it will go.
