Pokemon Go Raid Times

How to Raid From Home in Pokemon GO – Pokemon GO Remote Raiding

Generally speaking, Pokemon Go raid times are completely random. There’s no way of knowing when an egg will appear above a specific gym, nor what Pokemon will hatch, but there are a couple of guidelines.

Pokemon Go raid eggs will only spawn between 5:30am and 7:45pm local time. This means the time raid bosses will be available is 6:30am to 9:30pm, once an egg has hatched. This is because Niantic doesn’t want players roaming the streets in the middle of the night, for obvious reasons. You can however join remote raids in different timezones, provided you have a friend that can invite you and you have a Remote Raid Pass.

Every Wednesday, from 6pm to 7pm local time, will be Raid Hour. This is when most, if not all, gyms in the vicinity will spawn level five raids with whichever legendary Pokemon is in eggs at the time. This changes frequently, so make sure you check

EX raids differ from usual raids in that youll face a much more powerful Pokémon, and will need to bring a heck of a lot of friends along to the fight. As a reward, youll get the chance to add one of the rarest Pokémon to your collection.

In addition to bragging rights, you also get a number of items as rewards. The higher the Raid Tier, the more rewards, so you might only get two or three items for a Tier 1, but over a dozen for a Tier 2.

  • Revives: Usually many. Too many, in fact.
  • Rare Candy: Usable on any Pokémon.
  • Fast TM: Let you change the Fast Move on a Pokémon.
  • Charge TM: Let you change the Charge Move on a Pokémon.
  • Golden Razz Berries: Improve your odds of catching a Pokémon.
  • Premiere Balls: What you use to try to catch the Raid Boss.

So far, Revives have had the highest drop rates by far and TMs the lowest. You can get additional Premiere Balls for things like the Gym being under your team’s control and doing the most damage.

A Literal Waste Of My Time

Pokemon Go Raid Bosses: all present raids, together with new Sinnoh gen ...

Being stuck without the ability to roam around like so many people in the world today, this app was a godsend from the jump. However, when I went into looking for a specific Pokémon to do a raid for I kept running into the same issue time and time again. I would be put into the queue, and after literal DAYS of waiting, once I received that coveted NEXT sign, once I left the app for just a moment, Id return to see that I was back at the end. Now, granted, I know all about standing in line, but this last time really ground my gears. After having my display set to Never Off for an entire 13 hours waiting to go from NEXT into a raid waiting room, I hop off the app for a brief moment to return to see that I am now 13th!!! WHAT?!? Every other raid for a common Pokémon was successful so they get two stars for that, but to not have a system in place to let me know Hey, youre FINALLY in a raid lobby! Come on in and hurry! That has happened FOUR times in as many days. Youve got my money for coins but I never get to spend the darn coins because I never get selected and Ive been NEXT three of those four times!!! Update: developer says that you cant enter a raid for Pokémon that arent currently available. Then WHY IS THERE THE OPTION TO WAIT?!? And why does the queue place me in a numbered line and I get to agonizingly watch it tick down?!? Fix this, please and thank you.

How To Join A Pokemon Go Raid

In the Pokemon Go overworld, trainers will periodically see Eggs appear at certain Pokemon Gyms. These Eggs will be accompanied by a timer, when it reaches zero the Egg will hatch.

Trainers can find Raids nearby when pressing the nearby function in the bottom right corner and tapping the Raid section. The level/difficulty of the Raid will be determined by the number of symbols near the Egg in this section or by its color. Level 1 Raids, which are the most common and easiest to defeat, have pink-colored Eggs appearing over Raids. Level 3 Raids have yellow Eggs while Level 5 Raids have purple Eggs with white stripes. Mega Eggs are beige and red in color and pop up as often as Level 5 Raids.

To participate in the Pokemon Go Raid, trainers simply have to be at the respective gym within 45 minutes after the Egg hatches. As long as you have a Raid Pass — which is given out for free once per day at your first Gym PokeStop spin of the day — you can have a shot at taking down the Raid boss. If you want to do more than one Raid per day, you can pick up Premium Raid Passes from the in-game store for 100 coins apiece.

There are also Pokemon Go Remote Raid Passes that allow for trainers to enter any Raid even if they are in a different country. Trainers can pick up these special Raid Passes for 100 coins in the in-game shop or pick up three Remote Raid Passes for 250 coins.

Inviting friends to a Raid is pretty easy. Trainers just need to follow the below steps:

How Hard Are Raid Bosses To Catch

Hard! They move more, defend better, and have a lower catch rate than the typical Pokémon you find in the wild.

Here’s what GamePress lists at the base catch rates for Raid Bosses, as well as what those change to with Razz Berry and Golden Razz Berry modifiers.

Pokmon Go Raid Hour Explained: What Date And Time Is Raid Hour

Each week, there is a weekly Pokémon Go Raid Hour with an increased number of Legendary Raids to complete, allowing you to schedule some dedicated battling time in the diary.

Unless stated, each Pokémon Go Raid Hour date is every Wednesday with a Raid Hour start time of 6pm to 7pm local time.

Note: Raid Hour was paused in early 2020 due to social distancing concerns with COVID-19, but with the arrival of Remote Raids, has returned as a regular fixture from May 2020.

All Gyms with no active raids or scheduled EX Raids will have an Egg appear just before it begins, which will all hatch into the currently available Legendary Pokémon, and be available for an hour.

Raid Hour is open to those with regular Raid Passes and Remote Raid Passes.

The exceptions to this appear to be when there Raid bosses change over on that day – as what we saw with Groudon and Armoured Mewtwo in July 2019 – likely to ensure each region has the same battle when it does occur.

How To Get More Premier Balls In Pokmon Go

During the capture phase, you’ll be given a number of Premier Balls, which are the only means to catch the creature. The number of Premier Balls you receive depend on a number of factors, but expect between about five and a dozen to play with:

  • Defeating the boss
  • Damage inflicted
  • Gym Control
  • Speed bonus – the faster the raid boss is defeated, the more rewards you receive
  • Raiding with Friends

It’s important to note that if you’re battling in a Mega Raid, the Speed Bonus will reward you with more Mega Energy rather than Premier Balls.

In short, having the Gym on your team and inflicting more damage will see you have a better chance. It’s also worth remembering you can also use Berries during the encounter too, so stockpile those Golden Razz Berries – they may come in handy here for the tier 5 beasts.

If you run out of Premier Balls, the boss will flee.

Originally there was also a ‘Team Contribution’ element to the distribution of Premier Balls, with the Team, Mystic for example, that caused the most damage to the raid boss being rewarded with more Premier Balls. With the introduction of Mega Evolutions, however, this was replaced with the Speed Bonus.
