On average, Japanese Pokemon booster packs contain 5 cards per pack. There are no energy cards inside Japanese booster packs and each pack isnt guaranteed to contain a rare. However, some special expansion sets contain more cards per pack and will include both special energy and rare cards.;
This is completely different from what we normally see from English booster packs which almost always contain 11 cards per pack, 1 energy card, and 1 guarantee rare.;

Released in December of 2016 in Japan, with English versions to be released in February of 2017, Pokemons Sun and Moon packs changed things up a little with regards to weighing packs, a standard that continues through the succeeding series packs. So, can you still weigh these packs?
Well, yes and no depending on who you ask. Many players who have become skilled at weighing the card packs say that with a little practice the addition of the white and green code cards is not necessarily a hindrance.
Generally this manifested in two ways, with one being part of the package itself and the other method contingent on vendor participation. Im just watching it throughout the day, Foley recounted. When the 1-minute countdown; began, he entered in his max bid of $425. And as soon as I did that, I think everybody else did, because it went from $375 all the way up to, like $550, he said.;
Now, he thought, hed never be able to get the card. Foley said that only a year ago, it might have been worth around $250-$300 roughly half the price.

How Much Do Pokemon Packs Weigh On Average
If you are going to experiment with weighing Pokemon packs in order to maximize your chances of obtaining rare cards then you will need to know the average pack weight. Most people use this with booster packs, which have 10 cards in each, and as it turns out, the weights can certainly help you.
A normal card is going to weigh approximately 1.69 grams. One the other of the spectrum is the heaviest, which are the Ultrarare cards. They weigh about 1.98 grams. Finally, the Holofoil cards weigh close to the same around as the Ultrarare cards, weighing in at 1.93 grams. The extra décor on these cards makes a difference and the proof is in the weights.
So, what does the average pack weigh that doesnt have an Ultrarare or a Holofoil card? Well, typically we find that the average weight of of a booster pack without a Holofoil is around 28.99 grams. Between the cardboard and the foil-wrapped packs the weights are 9.14 and 19.88 grams, respectively.
For best results you will need to practice by purchsing and weighing 4 packs at a time and observing the range of differences. Weighing the cards DOES work, but it is a skill that you are going to need to develop with practice.
