The Icon Of Mythical Pokemon

Mewtwo is arguable the most desirable Pokemon of the original 151. One of the most powerful as well as most difficult to catch. You only get 1 shot at catching Mewtwo, and if it runs away, it’s done for good.

Mewtwo can be found in the Cerulean Cave, but only after beating the Elite Four can you actually gain access to it.

Knowing Mewtwos Battle Tactics

Just as we stated, Mewtwo is level 70. It is a Psychic-type so one would think that Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type Pokemon and moves are effective against it. That can be true but Mewtwo is no pushover and it wont go down even if you have a lineup of those types.

Mewtwo will most likely use Amnesia for the first few turns to buff its stats. It has two options for attacking which are Psychic and Swift. If you notice one of those moves rely on Physical and the other is an Sp. Attack one so Mewtwo can dish out a good amount of damage depending on the Pokemon that you used.

Psychic does a good amount of damage and Swift usually takes the first turn because of its Speed. You could say that Mewtwo has a very well-rounded list of moves.

The fourth move is Recover which lets it recover its HP so that means that the battle will be prolonged. Dont worry though because when you have the ideal team to deal with it then you can catch it.

Gaining Access To The Cerulean Cave

After beating the Elite Four, go to Cerulean City. You may have walked by Cerulean Cave at some point because you can see it as you enter the city, but you could not access it before.

One way to get to it is to go north over the bridge. After the bridge, use sea skim to enter the water directly to your left. Go down, and then left, and you’ll be at the cave’s entrance.

You can also fly over the water and directly go to the cave which is likely more convenient.

How To Catch Articuno In Pokemon Let’s Go

SHADOW MEWTWO in Mt. Moon! – Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee Extreme Randomizer Nuzlocke Episode 3

Where to find the Seafoam Islands

Articuno likewise has a fitting location for its ice-type legendary Pokemon origins – it’s found out in the seas, specifically on the Seafoam Islands to the east of Cinnabar Island, one of the major cities in the game. The Seafoam Islands are easy enough to reach, but once you get there you’ll find your path forward obscured by some basic puzzles.

You’ll need the Strong Push secret technique to solve these puzzles – essentially you have to push some big stone blocks into holes in order to clog up the river and slow its flow so you can get to new areas – and it’s in these areas where you’ll find Articuno. It’s all quite simple, really, and you’ll find some decent Pokemon along the way like Jynx, Slowpoke, Slowbro, Seel and Dewgong – plus a chance to catch a Squirtle if you’re lucky.

When the time comes to fight Articuno, keep in mind its mixed ice-type and flying-type status. That makes it weak to Electric, Rock, Fire and Steel attacks. Don’t be tempted to deploy Zapdos here if you already picked it up – it’s weak to Ice, remember. Your best bet are water-type Pokemon, since that’ll resist Articuno’s devastating ice attacks.

When you catch Articuno, it’ll be at level 50.

How To Catch Mewtwo In Pokemon Lets Go

To catch Mewtwo in Pokemon Lets Go, youre going to want to play through the game usually until youve beaten the Elite Four at the Indigo Plateau. When youve done so and become the Pokemon Master, head back to Cerulean City. Remember that blocked off cave across the river? Now you can enter it! Head up Nugget Bridge and use Sea Skim to surf down the river to the entrance. Welcome to Cerulean Cave!

Explore the cave and progress through the natural cause by using Sea Skim and climbing the ladders you find. Eventually, youll stumble upon Mewtwo, dwelling inside like the legendary birds. Now make sure you prepare for this fight by having the right squad with you and ensure you save beforehand, because this could well be the most challenging fight in the entire game.

One tactic wed recommend employing in the Pokemon Lets Go Mewtwo fight is to teach one of your Psychic-type Pokemon the move Foul Play, found in TM21. This will turn any damage Mewtwo throws at you back on itself. Its a great way to quickly deplete its health and stay within the five-minute time limit. Once youve beaten it, use your Master Ball on it to catch Mewtwo without fail.

Congratulations! Youre now the owner of the most powerful Pokemon in the game.

To even think about capturing Mewtwo in Pokemon Lets Go, youre firstly going to have to defeat the Elite Four. This is by no means an easy task, and youll have to acquire every Gym Badge in the game, from all eight Gym Leaders, before taking on the Elite Four. For a full guide on taking down every final boss, head over to our Pokemon Lets Go Elite Four guide.

But, once youve finished the Elite Four, the credits will roll on Pokemon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee. Youre not done yet though, as when you find yourself back in the game, your rival will enter your house, saying that an incredibly powerful Pokemon has been sighted near Cerulian City. Head straight over to the town, but enter the cave slightly to the northwest of the actual city itself, with the powerful trainer standing outside.

Within the cave itself, you need to find the large ladder heading up to the next level. After this, head immediately north and take the next ladder down, and the ladder down after that when youre in a tiny area. At the very bottom level, youll find Mewtwo, available to be battled and captured.

However, dont think the fight with Mewtwo is going to be as easy as the other legendary Pokemon in the game . Mewtwo starts out at level 70, and its only weak to a very specific amount of attack types, including Bug, Ghost and Dark.

How To Catch Moltres In Pokemon Let’s Go

    Where to find Victory Road

Moltres is the only Pokemon in the world of Kanto in a place that you absolutely must visit in your pursuit of the main story. The fire-type legendary bird can be found in Victory Road to the west of Viridian City, the cave-like system that provides the ultimate final challenge to Pokemon Trainers before they tackle the Elite 4. This place is crawling with little puzzles that use many of your secret techniques, but you’ll only need the one to reach Moltres.

Find the area where Officer Jenny is hanging out – you met her earlier on in the story and probably picked up a naughty Squirtle from her. She’s also the only cop you’ve seen – Kanto is rough. Anyway, she heals you up here, but to the right of where she’s hanging out is a Strong Push block. Move it and head down the ladder – on this floor you’ll find Moltres.

Moltres is a fire and flying type mix, which makes it weak to Rock, Water and Electric-type attacks. For this encounter you could use Zapdos – but not Articuno – but if you want to batlte with non-legendary Pokemon another water type Pokemon is a solid bet, as are rock-type Pokemon, who’ll resist fire damage and dish out double damage to Moltres.

Once you catch Moltres, it’ll be at level 50.

Ideal Pokemon And Moves To Use

You can mix and match Pokemon that you can use to take down Mewtwo. Dark-type Pokemon in this game is scarce because the Generation I roster lacks a pure Dark-type. This means you have to rely on some Moves to take on Mewtwo and here a few good suggestions and these arent in a ranked order as which ones you can use.

    Pve Offensive Moves Explanation

Movesets with Confusion will do more damage than those with Psycho Cut, but the latter is easier to dodge with and provides more energy for Charge Moves. Use Psycho Cut when Psychic type is resisted, when the charge move is weather boosted, or when the charge move is doubly SE.

    • Psycho Cut + Shadow Ball is ideal against Psychic-type Pokemon when Ghost is super effective and Psychic is not. Confusion + Shadow Ball is Mewtwos best neutral DPS and ideal against Ghosts.

    • Psystrike makes Mewtwo the best Psychic attacker, standing far above all competition. Pair with Confusion for the highest DPS pure Psychic moveset.

    • Psychic is an acceptable alternative to Psystrike, sporting close overall performance.

    • Ice Beam makes Mewtwo the top ranked Ice-type attacker considering all other current options have a much lower attack stat.

    • Thunderbolt places Mewtwo just behind Raikou and Zapdos as one of the top Electric attackers in the game.

    • Flamethrower Mewtwo is outclassed by several alternative Fire-types, but it’s boosted if the weather is clear.

    • Focus Blast is ideal for gyms against all those Blissey and Snorlax. However, there are much better options for Fighting-type DPS.

    • Hyper Beam is definitely Mewtwos worst charge move.

‘pokmon Let’s Go’ Legendaries: How To Catch Mewtwo Moltres Zapdos And Articuno

Legendary Pokémon are some of the most powerful in the series, and Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee are no exception. And in the Kanto Region, there are four Legendaries that trainers will want to try and catch to bolster their team to fight NPCs and friends online.

The four Legendary Pokémon of Kanto are Moltres, Articuno, Zapdos and the mysterious Mewtwo.

In Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee, catching Legendary Pokémon is different from your run-of-the-mill Pidgey, you’ll actually have to battle them. Each encounter gives trainers five minutes to take down the Legendary Pokémon before you get to the catching stage. The Legendary Pokémon will also have all their stats raised to make it even harder.

This part is similar to the rest of your capture attempts, albeit much more difficult with the catch rate lower than most other Pokémon. It’s unclear whether they can run away from you, but we suggest saving your progress before encountering them.

We also recommend talking to the Fortune Teller in Celadon City before trying to capture the Legendary Pokémon to get the Nature you desire.

Here’s where to find them and the best ways to catch them.

    HOW TO CATCH ZAPDOS

Before heading into battle, we recommend bringing a Rock and Ground-type Pokémon like the Onix, the Geodude or Rhyhorn line. Zapdos’ Thunderbolt won’t affect it and Drill Peck will be not very effective against them.
