To get your Pokémon from Pokémon GO into Home, you need to have both of the apps downloaded on your mobile device. You will also need an active Nintendo Account that you can link to both apps. Once you set your Pokémon Home app up on mobile, you can begin the transfer process. Heres how:
Keep in mind that you can only transfer a certain number of Pokémon at once. The GO Transporter uses energy for transfers, and once its out of energy, you wont be able to transfer anything. The amount of energy it uses depends on the Pokémon you are transferring.
To recharge the GO Transporter, you can wait , or you can use Pokécoins to instantly charge it. You can get the coins by defending gyms or purchasing them with real currency.
Once the Pokémon are in Pokémon Home, you can access them on the Nintendo Switch and transfer them to Pokémon Sword and Shield .
Keep in mind that for every Pokémon from Kanto, you can also get them onto the Nintendo Switch without using any transporter energy by importing them to Pokémon Lets Go Pikachu or Lets Go Eevee and then moving them from there to Pokémon Home.

Here are the simple steps you have to follow to complete your transfer.
- Launch Pokemon GO
- Open the main menu by tapping the Pokeball Icon
- At the top of the screen, you should see a gear icon. It is for Settings. tap on it
- Under that tap on Pokemon HOME
- Next tap on Send Pokemon> tap Continue
- Select the Pokemon that you wish to transfer from Pokemon Go to Pokemon HOME
- Tap on Next and then tap on Transport

Darmanitan is a Pokemon with a special ability: to change forms mid-battle! This power turns the Darmanitan into its Zen Mode and changes its type. The regular Darmanitan becomes a Fire/Psychic-type, and the Galarian Darmanitan becomes an Ice/Fire-type.

A Few Restrictions On Transferring
As mentioned before, there are a few restrictions and workarounds to transfer mass amounts of Pokémon from Go to Home. One of the first things to note is that the Go Transporter requires energy to send Pokémon to Home. Different Pokémon will require different amounts of energy. Legendary and shiny Pokémon, for example, will require different amounts of energy to transfer them. The Go Transporter will be fully energized when you first use it but, after every use, the energy level will go down and youll have to wait a set amount of time before the Go Transporter to build up all of its energy again. You also have the option of buying Go Transporter energy with PokéCoins, but its a bit costly to do this. The cost to fully charge the Transporter is 1,000 PokéCoins, which feels a little outrageous.
Additionally, not every Pokémon can be transferred from Go to Home. Pokémon that are special or exclusive to Go, such as Armored Mewtwo, costumed Pokémon that were part of an event, Shadow, Purified, or Lucky Pokémon, cannot be transferred to Pokémon Home. Its important to keep this in mind when selecting Pokémon to transfer, because you may have selected a Pokémon that cannot actually move to Home.

How To Claim Your Free Gigantamax Melmetal
After you’ve transferred a Pokemon from Go to Home for the first time, you’ll receive a special gift: a Melmetal that’s capable of Gigantamaxing. To claim the Pokemon, open the mobile version of Pokemon Home, tap on the menu button on the bottom of the screen, and select Mystery Gift. You’ll find the special Melmetal waiting in your Gift Box.
That’s not the only present you’ll receive for transferring a Pokemon you’ll also get a Mystery Box in Pokemon Go . The Mystery Box is a special item that causes Meltan to spawn in the wild for a limited time, making it the only way to catch the Mythical Pokemon.

It costs $2.99 a month, $4.99 for three months, and $15.99 for 12 months. The subscription allows you to store more Pokémon. Without it, youll only be able to hold 30 at a time. With a subscription, you can hold up to 6,000 Pokémon.

As of today, Pokemon Go is now compatible with Pokemon Home. This is exciting news for Pokemon fans, because it greatly expands the number of monsters that can be transferred from Niantic’s popular mobile game to Pokemon Sword and Shield. It wouldn’t be Pokemon if there weren’t a lot of hoops to jump through, though, and Pokemon Go throws up quite a few barriers to getting your beloved Shiny Groudon over to the Nintendo Switch.

As of right now, if you want to complete a transfer from Pokemon Go to Pokemon Home, you need to fit the following requirements:
- You have to be Level 40 in Pokemon Go
- The “Go Transporter” item must have a sufficient amount of energy
- You must have already caught the Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield, so you can’t use Pokemon Go to fill your Pokedex
- Mega Evolutions, Shadow Pokemon, and unique costumes can’t be transferred
Those are some pretty onerous restrictions, making it effectively impossible to transfer your entire collection over to Pokemon Sword and Shield in one go. Indeed, as someone currently trapped at Level 32 in Pokemon Go, I’ve yet to be able to access the feature at all. Alas, poor Shiny Dragonite, you appear to be doomed to remain trapped in the purgatory of Alameda, California.

Once you’ve moved Pokémon to Pokémon HOME from Sword and Shield or other sources, compatible Pokémon can easily be transferred back to Sword and Shield by connecting with the game again and dragging your chosen Pokémon to the game’s boxes. Remember that only Pokémon present in the Galar Pokédex can be moved to Pokémon Sword and Shield.
Also remember that POKÉMON TRANSFERRED FROM LET’S GO PIKACHU AND EEVEE CANNOT BE MOVED BACK TO THOSE GAMES ONCE YOU’VE MOVED THEM TO SWORD AND SHIELD .
Transferring Pokmon From Pokmon Home To Pokmon Sword And Shield
You can only transfer Pokémon that you can catch in Pokémon Sword and Shield from Pokémon Home into those games. That means you cant transfer Pokémon like Wurmple to Pokémon Sword and Shield, but they can stay in Pokémon Home indefinitely, so long as you pay your subscription fees.
Mythical Pokémon like Mew and Victini can only transfer to Pokémon Sword and Shield if you already have a legitimate version of that Pokémon in your Pokédex. These Pokémon have been available through events for a number of years, but if you missed out youll need to trade with a friend before you can transfer a mythical Pokémon to the main series game.

How Do I Transfer Pokmon From Pokmon Go To Pokmon Sword And Shield
It is not currently possible to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Pokémon HOME directly, although the feature is coming before the end of 2020. We’ll update this guide when it launches.
If you’re absolutely desperate, you could move compatible Pokémon from Pokémon GO to Let’s Go, Pikachu and Eevee, and then to HOME, and then to Sword and Shield. If we were you, we’d sit tight and wait for the update, though.
What Are The Transfer Costs Between Pokmon Go And Pokmon Home
There are some significant caveats to moving Pokemon from Go to Home
Theres varying transfer costs dependent on what type of Pokémon youre sending, whether they’re Shiny, and their CP number.
The Go Transporter has a 10,000 energy capacity, which gains 60 energy an hour. Each Pokémon you send will deplete this energy, so youll have to wait for it to recharge once its used up.

Trainers, Pokemon Home connectivity is now rolling out in Pokemon Go! This means that trainers can now send Pokemon from Pokemon Go to Pokemon Home to store them safely in the cloud, or to transfer them to other Pokemon games, such as Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. Currently, this feature is available to trainers who have reached at least Level 33 in Pokemon Go, but it will become available to more players over time.
Before you can send Pokemon from Go to Home, youll need to connect your Pokemon Home account to the mobile game. Check out our guide to see how this is done.
Once youve connected your accounts, heres how to transfer Pokemon from Go to Home! When youre ready to transfer Pokemon, open Pokemon Go and tap the Poke Ball at the bottom of the screen.

Pokemon Go support has finally been added to Pokemon Home, which means Go players now have the ability to transfer most Pokemon they’ve caught in the mobile game over to the storage service. However, the process works a little differently than transferring Pokemon from other games, so we’ve put together this step-by-step guide outlining how to move your Pokemon from Go over to Pokemon Home.
Transferring Pokmon From Go To Home
Once your accounts are linked, you can transfer Pokémon using the Go Transporter. To do this, go to your settings, select Pokémon Home, and hit Send Pokémon.
From here, you can select any of the Pokémon you want to move. Keep in mind that you cannot transfer hat- or costume-wearing Pokémon, as well as Shadow or Mega Evolved Pokémon.
You can only transfer a limited number of Pokemon, as the Go Transporter only has a certain amount of energy. The energy recharges over time, but you can also opt to spend 1,000 Pokécoins to fill it back up instantly. It takes a little bit less than one week to refill the Go Transporter when its completely empty.
Transferring a Shiny Pokémon or Mythical Pokémon costs about 1/4 of the bar, and transferring a Shiny Legendary Pokémon depletes the entire bar. Transferring a regular Legendary Pokémon costs less than 1/6 of the bar.
You can only transfer Legendary Pokémon to Sword and Shield if youve already obtained them in that game, so dont get your hopes up if youre just trying to quickly complete your Pokédex.
If the Pokémon has a higher combat power, it will also cost a bit more.

How To Transfer From Sword/shield And Let’s Go To Pokemon Home
Pokemon Home is also compatible with Let’s Go Pikachu / Eevee and Pokemon Sword / Shield, so you can store any Pokemon you’ve captured in those titles to the service. Fortunately, this process is much simpler than transferring Pokemon from Bank. In the Switch version of Home, select Pokemon on the main menu and you’ll be presented with a list of the Switch Pokemon games you own. Choose a title and you can move Pokemon from it to Home, and vice versa.
As with Bank transfers, there are a couple of caveats to keep in mind when moving your pocket monsters. Any Pokemon you transfer from Let’s Go to Home can be retrieved in their original game or in Sword and Shield however, if you bring a Pokemon from Let’s Go into one of the Gen 8 games, it can no longer be returned to its original title. Pokemon from Sword and Shield, however, can freely be moved to and from the service.
