The type of Charged attack doesnt matter for the first two times- it should just be quick.
- Giovanni will stop attacking for short intervals in some situation. These pauses are quite viable, for you can overcharge your Charged move, to use on the next Pokemon. If used wisely, you can even prevent them from taking much of your HP. These are-

While Giovanni always starts with Persian, he can use one of three different Pokemon for his second choice, followed by his Legendary Pokemon. How The Monthly Special Research To Find Giovanni Works
Once you’ve completed the “A Troubling Situation” special research quest, you’re eligible to receive the monthly quest to hunt down Giovanni.
Each month you can receive a special research quest that leads to beating Giovanni. The first few steps differ from month to month, but the fourth, fifth, and sixth steps are always the same.
Giovanni can only be fought once per month. If you complete one month’s research in the following month , you’ll receive the February research immediately after completing the January research. If you complete the February research in February, you’ll need to wait until March to get the research again.

Pokemon GO temporarily suffered the loss of Team GO Rocket battles due to issues in the game last month, but the villains have returned along with their boss Giovanni in May 2021.
Before a player can get the opportunity to battle Giovanni, they must first get their hands on a Super Rocket Radar device. In order to do so, a trainer will be required to complete the Team GO Rocket special research task, “The Higher They Fly.”
Supposedly, a new task that rewards players with the Super Rocket Radar will be added along with the arrival of the Luminous Legends X event, though the details of the task are yet to be announced.

The balloons will appear once in every 6 hour period from 12am to 6am, 6am to 12pm, 12pm to 6pm and 6pm to 12am.

After you’ve constructed your first Rocket Radar, additional Rocket Radar can be purchased in the PokéShop for 200 PokéCoins each. How To Beat Giovanni In Pokmon Go: How To Find Giovanni
Finding Giovanni in Pokémon Go is no simple task as it requires you to complete quite a few challenges before even attempting to locate the Team Go Rocket boss. First and foremost, you’ll have to defeat other Team Go Rocket Leaders in order to have a go at the big bad wolf himself.
Why? Well, if you want to face Giovanni, you won’t be able to do so without completing the Special Research task, which involves beating the Leaders, Grunts, and other Team Go-Rocket challenges.
So let’s start with locating Team Go Rocket Leaders, shall we?
How To Encounter Giovanni In Pokemon Go
To find Giovanni, you would need a Super Rocket Radar. This, unlike the Rocket Radar, cannot be obtained just by battling the grunts. Completing Looming in the Shadows or the new Seven colored Rainbow will reward one Super Rocket Radar. Outside any such event, it will be impossible to encounter Giovanni. Completing these missions often require the players to beat all the three Team Leaders- Sierra, Cliff and Arlo. Therefore, it is wise to have a look at their current team composition as well.
Once you equip the Super Rocket Radar, you will find Giovanni standing near Pokestops. However, beware! Few of those Pokestops might have decoy grunts instead. These decoy grunts normally look like Giovanni, but upon clicking on the Pokestop, they will revert back to their original form. Therefore, it might take a while before you find the real Giovanni. However, when you encounter a Team Go Rocket balloon with the Super Rocket Radar equipped, it is guaranteed to be the real Giovanni.

How To Find Giovanni
Before you can take on Giovanni, you need to have progressed to step four of the six step Looming in the Shadows Special Research quest . This step will task you with defeating each of the three Team GO Rocket Leaders: Cliff, Sierra and Arlo.
According to a blog post from Niantic, Team GO Rocket Grunts may now drop Mysterious Components when defeated. Assemble six of those to make Rocket Radars that can be used to sniff out the three Team GO Rocket Leaders and battle them. Once you craft one, you can equip or unequip it from your bag. Tap the Rocket Radar button below the compass to activate the Rocket Radar. Using the Rocket Radar reveals all the Leader Hideouts in range, according to Niantics support website. They resemble regular PokeStops until you get within range of them, at which point the Team GO Rocket Leader will appear next to the PokeStop. Be careful as Leaders are more powerful than the average Grunt. If you lose a battle against the Leader, you can challenge them again until the Leader Hideout disappears from the map. Once you defeat them, the Rocket Radar breaks.
According to Pokemon Go Hub, bosses are only available from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Update : Giovanni can now appear in Team GO Rocket Balloons that appear occasionally in the overworld. You have to have a Super Rocket Radar equipped for that to happen, though.
Who Are The Rocket Executives In Pokemon Go
Cliff is the first of the Team Go Rocket Executives and their counterpart to Team Mystics Leader Blanche. Cliff brings in a team of three Pokémon with the second and third being chosen from a pool of different strong Shadow Pokémon. Fortunately, you can battle an Executive as many times as it takes to beat them.

What To Do With The Super Rocket Radar
Although rare, there are still plenty of Pokemon GO players that still have their hands on a Super Rocket Radar. This isn’t to be confused with a normal Rocket Radar, which is used to encounter either Sierra, Cliff, or Arlo.
If a player still has an unused Super Rocket Radar, the best thing to do is turn it off from their item menu until more news regarding Giovanni is revealed. The item is currently useless as any battle with Giovanni is unavailable at this time.
How Often Can You Fight Giovanni In Pokmon Go
Every calendar month, you’ll receive a new Giovanni Special Research task, which will become available at midnight on the first day of every month.
This will give you a Super Rocket Radar, giving a reliable way of battling Giovanni at least once a month, with the possibility of being able to catch a different legendary Shadow Pokémon.
For example, if you’ve completed Looming in the Shadows in November 2019, you could start A Challenging Development straight away at the beginning of December 2019.
If you finished Looming in the Shadows, however, in a month other than November 2019, then you will automatically skip to that month’s Giovanni Special Research quest, unable to complete any of the other quests that came in-between.
As well as from monthly quests, as long as you have a Super Rocket Radar in your inventory, you can fight Giovanni at any time. It has been a reward in several additional quests, so they might be worth saving until a month where the Shadow Pokémon reward available is one you want to stock up on.
To round off the end of the year is the Holidays 2021 event, the Season of Heritage, the Stardust Challenge and a refreshed Go Battle League.Ongoing are Arlo, Cliff, Sierra counters and Giovanni counters.Other major updates in the past year include a level cap increase, the introduction of XL Candy, boosts to some XP sources and the addition of Platinum Medals.

How To Fight Giovanni In September 2021
So as the above says you wont actually be able to fight Giovanni, even if you have saved a Super Rocket Radar and have it equipped. Usually this is all you need, with Giovanni then appearing either at nearby PokéStops or in Team GO Rocket Balloons. That wont work in September 2021 though, so instead you just have to be patient. As soon as we hear anything from Niantic about how to fight Giovanni this month well update this guide, so keep an eye on it until then.

Best Persian & Kangaskhan Counters
Since Persian is a Normal-type Pokémon, the best way to beat it is to bring a Fighting-type Pokémon, such as Machamp, Lucario, Hitmonchan or Blaziken. Persian typically uses Normal, Dark, Fairy and Rock move sets.
Kangaskhan will be one of the three Pokémon that Giovanni can send out as his second choice. It is a Normal-type Pokémon that can demonstrate a really powerful offence.
