  • What Are Raid Battles Raid Tiers And How Do Raids Work

Raids see trainers team up with other nearby players to take down “extremely powerful Pokémon” known as Raid Bosses under a time limit. These can have a massive amount of CP, up to 10 times as powerful as regular creatures, requiring a group to stand a chance of winning.

Some Raid encounters will be easier than others. Each one is graded from one to five – one could be a Magikarp, four has you face off against many of the best Pokémon such as Tyranitar and Snorlax, and five takes you up against a Legendary.

Each Raid Boss fits into one of four tiers, one being the easiest and five the most challenging, with each tier being distinguished by egg colour. This also includes Mega Raids, which allow you to battle the Mega Evolutions of certain Pokémon and will reward you with Mega Energy.

Originally there were five raid tiers in Pokémon Go, but, with the introduction of Mega Evolution and Mega Raids, both the two-star and four-star raids were removed. Without effecting the difficulty, the rewards for two-star raids were merged with one-star raids and the same with four-star to three-star.

Once you have completed the Raid, you can then catch the creature using Premier Balls. You only have a certain amount, so make every throw count!

Plus, there are invite-only Raids, named EX Raids, which see another type of very exclusive creature spawn. There are a number of hidden mechanics behind joining one, so visit the link to read more about it.

When Do Raid Hours Take Place

Each week, Niantic hosts a special Raid Hour takes place to allow players a better chance at catching the current 5-Star Raid Pokemon. All of the gyms that have Raids in them will be 5-Star, so thats either Zacian or Zamazenta in August.

Raid Hour takes place every Wednesday from 6PM to 7PM, and you wont have to worry about time zones as it will always be your local time. This is the perfect chance to get out there and catch yourself a Legendary.

How To Obtain The Raid Pass

Once youve found a raid that is either about to begin, or is already in progress, youll need to also acquire a raid pass. A raid pass is an item that is required to take part in a raid, and can be obtained in two different ways.

The first way to obtain a raid pass is to spin the photo disc of a gym. Assuming you dont already have one , youll receive a raid pass from the first spin of the day of a gyms photo disc.

The second way to obtain a raid pass is to buy one with Poke Coins. A premium raid pass costs 100 Poke Coins, and unlike the regular raid pass, is able to be stacked. This means that you can buy multiple premium raid passes at once, and hold onto all of them until youre ready to use them.

How long do Mega Evolutions last in Pokemon Go?

Here are all the biggest events happening in Pokemon Go this month.

There’s a lot happening in Pokemon Go in September 2021.

September is underway, and it’s shaping up to be another busy month for Pokemon Go. Developer Niantic has a variety of events lined up for the mobile game this month, including the debut of Hoopa, the return of the Psychic Spectacular and more. Here’s a roundup of all the biggest events and activities that are happening in Pokemon Go in September 2021.

    Where Are Pokemon Go Raids

As mentioned above, raids take place at gyms. At first, raids were only available at sponsored locations, but this restriction has recently been lifted, which means any gym could potentially host a raid. Finding a raid is quite simple, and there are two main ways to tell if there are any raids in progress near you.

The first way to check is to take a look at your nearby list. Simply click on the list, and then click on the raids tab at the top. Nearby raids that have yet to begin will display their starting time , while raids that are currently in progress will display the amount of time that remains before the raid ends. If you click on the raid, the gym will be highlighted on the overworld, just like when you click on a nearby Pokemon.

The other way to see if there are any nearby raids is to simply take a look around. If you can see a gym with a giant egg on top, that means a raid is about to begin, and will have a countdown timer that tells you how long until it begins. If a raid is already in progress, youll see a Pokemon on top with a menacing face above the gym and a number of stars indicating the difficulty. The amount of time displayed is how long is left before the raid ends!

How Do You Leave A Raid Once You’re Already In The Lobby

You can leave the Raid lobby at any time:

  • Tap the Quit button in the top left.
  • Tap the Exit button at the bottom middle .
  • Make sure you exit all the way out until you’re standing outside the Gym again. Otherwise you risk joining the same countdown as before and with even less time to prepare.

When it doubt, switch to a Private Group.

    How Long Do Raids Last

LAST DAY OF 100% CATCH RATE LEGENDARY RAIDS IN POKÉMON GO

Once a raid has been assigned to a gym , you will have between 30 minutes and two hours before the egg hatches and the raid begins. Once the initial timer has counted down to zero, the raid will begin, and you will then have a full 60 minutes to defeat the raid Pokemon, before the raid ends.

However, once you have commenced a battle with the raid Pokemon, you will only have 5 minutes to defeat the raid boss. If you fail to defeat the raid Pokemon in the 5 minute time period, it will regain all of its HP, and you will be forced to start the battle again from scratch!

Raids At Night: Can You Battle After Sunset

Right now, it looks like Niantic is trying to be a little family-friendly with the Pokemon Go raids system: raid battles are only available between 9am and 9pm in yourt local time. Once the sun sets gyms will always remain in their regular form. Basically, there are no Pokemon Go raids at night.

If you’re going out searching for raids at night or if you’re out of the house more frequently after sunset, don’t waste your time searching for raids – you’re only going to see them in the daytime, at least for now. Niantic is aggressive about patching and changing the game, however, so this might well change in time. We’ll see.

What Is A Raid Battle In Pokemon Go

The more seasoned video game fans among you might have heard the term ‘raid battle’ before outside of Pokemon Go – the term is typically used around other massive online games such as World of Warcraft to refer to a large-scale boss that multiple players will tackle together. It’s very challenging but also very rewarding content, and the type of thing that many players will do over and over again, completing the raid many times in order to grind for the raid’s special rewards.

In Pokemon Go, raid battles let you tackle super high-level Pokemon – Pokemon with a CP into the five figure range or quite possibly even higher. This will take multiple players multiple Pokemon even for easier encounters, though raids come in a variety of formats.

Each Pokemon Go raid is rated between one and five – one are the easiest and will feature weaker Pokemon, albeit super powered-up versions of them, such as a mega-CP Magikarp. Most of the raids you’ll see will hover around the 2-4 range, which could range from everything from a beastly Pidgey to a Dragonite. We haven’t seen a five-star raid yet, but we strongly suspect this high rank will suggest legendary Pokemoun encounters.

The raid rating represents not just the Pokemon you’ll face but also the difficulty. The lower the raid ranking the more easily you should be able to tackle the encounter with less Pokemon and less players hitting it at once.

Can You Use Ditto In A Raid And Get 20000 Cp For The Battle

Alas, you cannot. Ditto will spike up to the normal, even exception CP for a Pokémon of the Raid Bosses’ type, but not to the silly high levels of the Boss itself. For example, a Ditto facing a Tyranitar Boss might morph to 3,000 CP, but not to 35,000 CP.

And since it’s still a Ditto, it won’t last long. So, better to pick a real counter.

Raid Invitations And Remote Raids In Pokmon Go

Pokémon Go Raid Battles: How to find

As the global pandemic slowed Pokémon Go play and Raids in particular during the early part of 2020, Niantic began to implement new features to make Raids more accessible. Now Trainers can purchase Remote Raid Passes, which allow them to take part in Raids that aren’t within range for a normal Raid Pass. These Remote Raid Passes will let you join in any Raid you can see on the screen. Additionally, Remote Raid Passes allow you to join into any Raid a Friend invites you to. Raid Invitations were added shortly after Remote Raid Passes, allowing Trainers to invite up to five of their Friends to join in a Raid from anywhere in the world.

    What Are Mega Raids

Mega Raids are a new tier of Raid Battles that will periodically occur at Gyms. These are roughly equivalent to Legendary Raids in terms of challenge, except they feature a Mega-Evolved Pokemon as the Raid boss.

If you can defeat the Mega-Evolved Pokemon, you’ll receive its Mega Energy, which you’ll need to Mega Evolve your own Pokemon. The faster you defeat the Raid boss, the more Mega Energy and other rewards you’ll earn after the battle. You’ll also get a chance to catch the Raid boss .

Indicators That You Are In Cooldown

The following are the simplest ways to tell if you are on Cooldown

    • If the Pokémon you are trying to catch keep fleeing, then you are on cooldown. You just need to wait the specified Cooldown time duration to start catching Pokémon again.
    • You see the Try Again Later notification when you try to spin a PokéStop
    • You are unable to place any Pokémon in the gym or join any gym raids
    • You see the Gym Battle has Already been Completed error when you try to attach a gym

When Do Raids Start And End

Niantic has not given official word when Raid Battles in Pokémon Go start and stop spawning in Gyms. However, the consensus in the Pokémon Go community holds that they start appearing in Gyms around 8-9 a.m. local time and stop around 9 p.m. local time.

This is to prevent players, especially younger ones, from going out at night, especially during the cold winter months. So if you’re looking to head into a Raid Battle, be sure to find one before 9 p.m.

What Else Do You Get For Beating A Raid Boss

How to Invite Friends to Remote Raids in Pokemon GO – Pokemon GO Remote Raiding

In addition to bragging rights, you also get a number of items as rewards. The higher the Raid Tier, the more rewards, so you might only get two or three items for a Tier 1, but over a dozen for a Tier 2.

    • Revives: Usually many. Too many, in fact.
    • Rare Candy: Usable on any Pokémon.
    • Fast TM: Let you change the Fast Move on a Pokémon.
    • Charge TM: Let you change the Charge Move on a Pokémon.
    • Golden Razz Berries: Improve your odds of catching a Pokémon.
    • Premiere Balls: What you use to try to catch the Raid Boss.

So far, Revives have had the highest drop rates by far and TMs the lowest. You can get additional Premiere Balls for things like the Gym being under your team’s control and doing the most damage.

    Pokemon Go Raid Level Requirement

Alas, there is a catch to all this. Players that want to take part in raids will need to be a certain level to get raiding – and it’s a level that means you’ll have to be a fairly dedicated or longer-time Pokemon Go player to join.

Right now you’ll need to be at least Trainer Level 20 in order to take part in raids. This has been lowered twice during beta, players need to be level 35 to participate in Pokemon GO raids, and shortly after the update launched, they needed to be level 25. Level 20, the new requirement, is much more achievable – but still might be out of reach of some of the more casual Pokemon Go players.

If you’re below level 20 you’ll still be able to get to grips with a lot of Pokemon Go’s new features including the reworked gyms, gym badges and so on, and these will help you to level up quickly.

How Much Are Remote Raid Passes In Pokemon Go Shop

As of June 2021, the only other method for collecting Remote Raid Passes is by purchasing them.

The item is sold in Pokemon Gos in-game shop. Currently, players can buy 1 pass for 100 Poke Coins, and a bundle of three for 250Poke Coins. You will need to redeem real-world money for the fictional currency or save the coins up by earning them in-game.

What Is A Legendary Raid And How Does It Work

In Pokémon Go, there are five distinct levels of raids. The first tier of raids is the simplest to complete, but the prizes arent as spectacular. The tougher the competition becomes as you go through the levels.

Raids are usually held at your local gym and include a variety of timed activities. A raid may have up to 20 trainers, since raid bosses can be very difficult to defeat. For these events, there are both private and public raid rooms available. You may select your group and how you wish to approach each raid this way.

This tutorial will concentrate on Tier 5 raids, which often include legendary raids.

Shiny Cresselia Raid Hour Is Tonight In Pokémon GO

While you can catch plenty of Pokémon in the wild and hatch plenty of Pokémon in Eggs in Pokémon Go, Raid Battles are where you get some of the best and most powerful Pokémon in the game. While some of the Raid bosses are common and weak, Raids are also one of few ways to encounter Legendary Pokémon, Mega Pokémon, and certain rare species.

Which Pokémon, you ask? Well, the line-up changes pretty often. Each new event brings new and different Raid Bosses, and Niantic frequently changes them up just for fun.
