What Is The Extended Trading Distance In Pokmon Go

Typically, during special events, Pokémon Go developers will extend the standard trading distance to 12, or sometimes even 40, km. A single km is equal to about half a mile, so respectively this extends trading to six miles, or 24.8.

The special events typically notify all players when the trading distance has been extended. You can check out the Pokémon Go blog page to see the exact distance for the event and how long you have. For example, on Friendship Day on April 24 from 11 AM to 2 PM in your local time zone, trainers will be able to trade with other players that are 40 km away from each other. You can also check out the Pokémon Go twitter page to receive direct notifications when this happens in the future.

The trading distance does not always extend for every event, so dont routinely expect it to happen for the many weekly events in Pokémon Go.

After that, follow the steps below to complete a successful Pokemon trading process:

1. After getting in the proximity of your friend on Pokemon GO, run the game and head over to the Friend List section.

2. Select the name of the trainer with whom you wish to trade Pokemon.

3. Now, choose which Pokemon you want to trade.

4. Once the Pokemon is selected, a confirmation message will be sent to all concerned parties.

5. It will also mention the amount of Stardust required to complete the trade.

6. Thats it!

Beware, though, because its not possible to transfer this Pokémon back to Pokémon GO once it has been moved to Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Add Trainers To Your Friends List

How to trade ( exchange pokemon ) in Pokémon Go

Interacting with other players in Pokémon Go often requires you to add them to your friends list, and this is no different when it comes to trading. Depending on the level of friendship that you have with the player you are trading with, you may receive extra bonuses, such as the opportunity to have the traded Pokémon become Lucky, which will allow it to grow much faster. Adding friends requires access to your Trainer Code, which can be found by accessing the Friends section of the character menu, then tapping Add Friend.

Unfortunately for players, Pokémon Go only allows friends within 100 meters to trade with one another, though this distance is occasionally lengthened during specific events.

Why Should I Care About The Max Trade Distance In Pokemon Go

Simply put, as mentioned above, if youre outside the allowed range, you wont be able to trade at all.

As you can imagine, that makes this maximum trade distance quite important for anyone who wants to be doing any trading whatsoever in Pokemon Go. And even if youre not that bothered about trading usually, youll probably want to use it to clear some research tasks at some point.

And remember, trading can also be used to reduce the Candy cost of some evolutions down to zero.

    Ivs Change When You Trade

    Pokemon GO’s trading range is currently in its normal range of 100 meters, which means that the player’s friend will need to be within 100 meters to trade.

    However, this range has been known to be raised at certain times during certain events. For example, the range was increased as recently as April 24th during Friendship Day.

    During Friendship Day, which lasted from 11 AM local time to 2 PM local time, the range was increased to an absurd range. Players could trade over a distance of 40 kilometers.

    How To Trade In Pokmon Go: Stardust Cost

    So, we’ve covered that trading in Pokémon Go requires Stardust, but how can you collect it and how much does trading cost?;

    Stardust is one of the most important resources that you gain over time in Pokémon Go. It is usually collected whenever you catch a new Pokémon or complete quests, though you can also gain some Stardust;when hatching eggs, battling, and defending Gyms. However, catching ’em is the best way to go.

    The amount of Stardust collected when capturing a wild Pokémon depends on its evolution. The higher in the evolution chain the wild Pokémon is, the more Stardust you can get. For example, for catching a wild Pokémon that’s in its first stage in the evolution chain will get you 100 Stardust, second = 300, and third = 500.;

    Now, when it comes to trading, the amount of Stardust used will also depend on the type of Pokémon, as some will require more Stardust than others. Such Pokémon fall into the Pokémon Go Special Trades category, which typically includes: Pokémon not already in your Pokédex, Legendary Pokémon, Shiny Pokémon, and Pokémon with forms that are not already in your Pokédex. Stardust cost can range from just a hundred all the way up to a million. It also decreases as your friendship level with another Trainer grows.
