Pokemon Go And Niantic To Release A New Gen 6 Pokemon Wave Soon

Trainers, just when we thought that Niantic and Pokemon Go forgot about the rest of the Gen 6 Pokemon, the world greatest dataminers report that new Gen 6 Pokemon wave has been pushed into the game files, meaning new Gen 6 Pokemon will soon be able to hatch, catch and battle.

Gen 6 is the smallest Pokemon Generation, introducing only 72 species. The Gen 6 Pokemon made their debut in Pokemon go in December 2020 and it seems like Niantic and Pokemon Go are planning to launch a new, bigger wave of Gen 6 Pokemon very soon.

You might ask, how soon is very soon? Well, now that we know new Gen 6 Pokemon have been added to the GM file, we are pretty sure to see the new wave this month, April 2021.

Here are all-new Gen 6 Pokemon making their debut in Pokemon Go soon.

Pokémon X and Y mark an interesting milestone for me, personally. I fell off of Pokémon in college and early adulthood, but X and Y is where I picked it back up. The reason is simple: when Pokémon GO came out and took over the world, they were the newest games available, even if Sun and Moon were released a few months later. We can see the mobile game slowly catching up to the mainline RPGs: at this rate the game will likely run out of new content in 2023, or 2024 if we get a new mainline Pokémon game in the meantime. Im sure Niantic has a plan for when that happens, because at this point I think we can assume the game will last that long.

Pokemon GO: When Gen 6 Pokemon Will Likely Come to the Game

While Pokemon Go has yet to officially announce the arrival of Mega Pokemon into the game, these megas have been discovered in the games code courtesy of Pokeminers:

  • Mega Beedrill
  • Mega Charizard X and Y
  • Mega Pidgeot
  • Mega Venusaur

These Pokemon will be featured in their own unique form of Raid Battle. These Mega Raids will be their own tier beyond 1-5 stars, similar to EX Raids. It has been a long time since Pokemons official Youtube released this teaser on the 17th of June, 2020:

and the artwork below was also released for the 4th anniversary of Pokemon Go celebrated on the 3rd of July, featuring Mega Charizard X, Mega Lucario, and Gen 6 Starter Pokemon.

Pokemon Go has made it clear that Megas are coming soon, along with Kalos Pokemon from the Generation 6 games. Whether these will come before the end of 2020 is unknown, as all we have to go off of is datamines and cryptic tweets:

The other major change enables you to go beyond the current cap to reach level 50, with new challenges, rewards, and exclusive items. Levelling up in Pokemon Go is also getting some big tweaks to make it more accessible to new players and those who haven’t played in a long time.;

From November 30, you’ll earn more XP from catching Pokemon, hatching eggs, evolving, registering new Pokedex entries, and much more. If you’ve already reached level 40, any additional XP you’ve already earned will also count towards reaching new levels, so nothing goes to waste.;

You can also power up your Pokemon to a higher CP at each trainer level than you could before. As well as earning XP, you’ll also need to complete new level-up research tasks between levels in order to get to 50, which are set to present with a variety of challenges and new platinum badges to earn. You can see some examples of the kinds of challenges you’ll face in Niantic’s post here.;

All requirements for pre-level 40 will remain the same, but it’ll be easier to get your hands on more XP. Any trainers who reach level 40 before will also earn the title of Legacy 40 Trainer, along with some exclusive rewards such as special timed research challenges that will get you a snazzy Gyarados hat for your avatar. If you’re hoping to get that title in time, you’ll be happy to know you can now earn double XP from catches from November 18 until December 31.;

Gen 6 Pokmon Coming To Pokmon Go On Dec 2

There will soon be 17 more Pokémon to catch.

Pokémon Go trainers will be able to encounter Generation Six Pokémon from the Kalos region next month, Niantic announced today. A new batch of Pokémon will be added to the hit mobile game on Dec. 2.

The arrival of the new Pokémon will be celebrated with a special event from Dec. 2 to 8 when Pokémon from the Kalos region will appear more often in the wild. Theres also a new one-star Raid Egg coming to the game. Niantic will reveal it on social media in the future.

There are 17 new Pokémon coming to the game, including Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie, Fletchling, and their evolutions. Kalos was introduced in the Pokémon X and Y games for Nintendo 3DS.

In those games, trainers can choose from Fennekin, Froakie and Chespin as their starter Pokémon and later encounter legendary Pokémon Xerneas, Yveltal, and Zygarde. Those legendaries wont be included in the Kalos Pokémon added to Pokémon Go at this time, however.

Kalos was where Mega Evolutions were first introduced, so Niantic might add some Pokémon from the region to the list of creatures that can Mega Evolve in the mobile game.

Pokmon Go Gen 6 Pokmon List

Like the previous Pokémon generations, such as Gen 5, most evolutions will simply require you to collect a specific amount of Candy.

We can, however, expect to see a Gen 6 version of the Unova and Sinnoh Stone as, like Gen 4 and 5, this generation has a number of Pokémon that will only evolve if they are traded while holding a specific item.

A number of Pokémon may also be affected by the trading mechanic, which will make them easier to evolve once they’ve been traded with another player.

When Will Generation 6 Pokmon Come To Pokmon Go

Celebrating Pokémon Go On the fourth anniversary, a brand new official image appears, showing Starter Pokémon from the sixth generation, hinting that we may see their arrival very soon. These Pokémon come from the Kalos region and first appeared in Pokémon X and Yes.

The official image, shown above, details a variety of Pokémon Go references, such as Team Rocket Stolen PokéStops, Galarian Pokémon, Libre Pikachu, Reshiram and Zekrom, and upcoming Mega Evolutions. You can probably spot the three entrances to the Kalos, Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie area. They’re hidden all over the image, leaning towards a massive clue that we could see their arrival very soon. We’re also getting another reference to the upcoming release of the Team Rock Background Balloons, which is slated for release on July 7, according to a new email from Pokémon Go developers on a big day for Team Rocket.

We could probably see more Pokémon from the Kalos region arriving around the time of Pokémon Go Fest 2020. The fourth anniversary image has been released to help excite the upcoming event. Its likely attendees could encounter Sixth Generation Pokémon during their stay at the virtual event, which runs July 25-26. After the event, these Pokémon could become readily available to everyone, and we can expect to see more Pokémon from this region become a more regular sight for trainers.

Which Kalos Pokemon Will Release First

When are Gen 6 species coming to Pokemon Go?

If we look at other generations rollouts then the Kalos starter Pokemon will be most likely. That means trainers can look forward to Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie relatively soon.

To begin with, starter Pokemon do tend to be fairly rare, so dont expect to see them frequently. Their release is usually mixed in with more commonly spawning Pokemon from towards the beginning of the regions Pokedex.

Pokemon Go Leak Reveals New Look At Upcoming Gen 6 Pokemon And Mega Evolutions

It seems Pokemon Go players can expect to see a lot more creatures from the sixth Pokemon generation in the near future. The PokeMiners Twitter account has shared new image assets that have been datamined from the game. These images include a number of Pokemon that first appeared in the Kalos region, including Sylveon, Hawlucha, Dedenne, and more. In addition to the regular versions of each Pokemon, Shiny versions can be seen in the assets as well. It’s unclear exactly when Niantic will bring these Pokemon to the mobile game, but players can likely expect to see them sooner, rather than later!

The image assets from PokeMiners can be found in the Tweet embedded below.

We are still working through the assets, but one thing we can now report on is the Unity version in 205 has been updated!

So far, we were able to get a few new goodies. These are all the new Gen 6 mons currently added with 2D sprites as of 205’s update!

PokeMiners

Pokemon Go has a tendency to slowly roll out new Pokemon, so it’s impossible to say exactly when these new creatures will become available in the game. Of course, there are only so many Pokemon that can be added, and the mobile game will have to take its time to make sure it doesn’t catch up to the current generations too quickly. As such, it might be better if Niantic takes its time!

Pokemon Go Fourth Anniversary Art Teases Gen 6 Pokemon And Mega Evolutions

Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie, and a few other Gen 6 Pokemon can be seen hidden in a new piece of art commemorating Pokemon Go’s fourth anniversary.

Pokemon Go‘s fourth anniversary event is underway until July 8. To commemorate the occasion, Niantic has released a new piece of anniversary art for the game, and as usual, it teases a few new Pokemon that will be making their debut soon.

Hidden among the various monsters in the picture are Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie–the three starters from Pokemon X and Y, the series’ first sixth-generation installments. This suggests that Gen 6 Pokemon are on the way to the game in the near future, although Niantic has not confirmed when they’ll begin appearing.

This certainly isn’t the first time Niantic has teased the arrival of new Pokemon this way. Each year, the studio releases a new piece of anniversary art that features upcoming Pokemon; last September, we got a glimpse of a few Gen 5 monsters before they officially debuted that fall.

Notably, the picture also prominently features the Mega Evolved forms of Lucario and Charizard, while Mega Mewtwo Y can be seen flying with Reshiram and Zekrom in the background. Mega Evolution is a game mechanic introduced in X and Y, and while we already know that Mega Evolved Pokemon are coming to Go, this is further proof that their debut could be imminent.
