Where to Find a Thunder Stone in Pokemon Sword and Shield

Using an Evolution stone on an appropriate Pokémon causes it to evolve instantly, consuming the Evolution stone. This process cannot be stopped by pressing the B button.

Many Pokémon that result from a stone-based evolution can no longer learn new moves by leveling up, unlike their pre-evolved form. Starting in Generation VIII, however, the Pokémon that this apply to may instead learn the moves their pre-evolution could learn at the Move Reminder, gaining access to all of the previous forms level up moves regardless of level.

Evovle Eelektrik To Eelektross

Eelektrik is a pure Electric-type Pokemon introduced back in the Black and White generation.

Unfortunately, Eelektrik and its evolution line are not achievable in Pokemon Sword and Shield. But theres still something you can do.

Trainers with an Eelektrik in their Pokemon Home boxes must wait a bit for new games to use one of the items past the Ultra Moon and Ultra Sun titles.

Luckily, there is one less Thunder Stone needed to build the Pokedex.

How To Use Stones

Once you’ve obtained the right elemental stone, you can evolve a compatible Pokemon simply by selecting the item from your bag. You can evolve a Pokemon at any time using an elemental stone, but in the past, it was often prudent to wait until it reached a certain level first; if you evolved the Pokemon too early, it was unable to learn some useful attacks that it could only get in its unevolved form.

Sword and Shield, thankfully, do away with this caveat by letting you teach a Pokemon attacks it could previously learn from the Move Reminder, who can be found inside every Pokemon Center across the Galar region. This means you can now evolve a Pokemon with a stone at any time without having to worry about missing out on certain moves that it could only learn in its unevolved form.

The Electric Tale Of Pikachu

In Clefairy Tale, Ash, Professor Oak, and Bill witnessed a Clefairy evolution ceremony involving a large Moon Stone.

The focus of the chapter To Evolve or Not to Evolve, That Is the Question! was Evolution stones. Misty hoped to buy a Water Stone for her Poliwhirl in Stone Town, a town on Dream Island where all the Evolution stones in the Pokémon world come from. However, she couldnt afford one, remarking that an inexpensive one might make the evolution go bad.

Misty was later given a Water Stone by Mikey, who was being pressured to join the Knights of the E Stone, a club which requires members to own a Pokémon evolved by an Evolution stone. By battling club members, Ash and Mikey proved to the club leaders that Pokémon which have evolved by Evolution stone are not necessarily superior to their unevolved counterparts.

How To Evolve Charjabug In Pokemon Sword & Shield

Thunder Stone Location In Pokemon Sword & Shield (Early Game)

Put simply, players will need to use a Thunder Stone in order to evolve Charjabug in Generation 8. This is a great change, as having to level them up in a specific area was annoying and tedious, as it always is when trying to evolve a pokemon via leveling up. Some of the reasons why this is disliked by many are that most players would rather farm wild pokemon in areas that yield greater Exp or wish to allow Charjabug to gain specific Effort Values .

Another nice thing about this change is that players dont have to guess or time when to evolve their Charjabug, as the mechanics revolving around its previous evolution method were always obscure at best. Utilizing a Thunder Stone gives trainers a lot more control when thinking about ascending Charjabug into a Vikavolt, which is ideal for letting gamers level up Charjabug until they learn specific moves before evolving them.

The Wild Area is your best bet to find some Thunder Stones with there being three different opportunities to pick one up with one of the methods regularly giving you new ones, though you will need to have made some story progress.

The first Pokémon Sword and Shield Thunder Stone you can find will be available almost immediately after entering your first Wild Area.

Heres the location for the most immediately accessible Thunder Stone in Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Head northeast until you see a small hill, then walk along its ridge until you see the Thunder Stone as an item just sitting there.

The other method needs you to have had made significant story progress before you can even access it. Right in the northwest point of the Wild Area, theres a small island featuring loads of rocks in a formation, the games likely nod to Stonehenge.

Behind each of these rocks, you can find a different evolution stone, one of them being a Thunder Stone.

The good thing about these evolution stones is that they will sporadically regenerate, so you have plenty of opportunities to farm up some evolved Electric-type Pokémon.
