Where Should You Use Your Unova Stones

How to get the UNOVA STONE in POKEMON GO

Unova Stones and other evolutions items were first introduced to Pokémon Go during the second generation. Now, they are a must-have for evolving certain Pokémon, such as the ones we have mentioned above. You should note that the stone is usually consumed when you use it to evolve a Pokémon so, if you only have a few, you should be deliberate about how you use them. Of all the Unova-evolved Pokémon, the strongest is the fire and ghost-like Chandelure. It can come in handy if you arm it with Shadow Ball and Hex when facing ghosts.

Pokemon Go Unova Stones Guide

Heres what you need to do to get your hands on PoGos new evolutionary item.

Gen 5 Pokemon have finally made their debut in Pokemon Go. Players around the world now have a chance to catch a handful of monsters originally from the Unova region in Pokemon Black and White versions. Thats not all thats new in the game, however to coincide with their arrival, developer Niantic has also introduced a new evolutionary item called the Unova Stone.

Much like the Sinnoh Stone that debuted earlier this year, the Unova Stone is used to evolve certain Pokemon from its respective region, making it a valuable item to have. However, getting your hands on one will require quite a bit of work. If youre unsure of how to obtain one, we break down how to get an Unova Stone and which Pokemon require it to evolve below.

  • Pokemon Go Unova Stone: How To Get The Unova Stone And Which Pokemon It Can Evolve

Pokemon Evolution is a key part of growing your Pokedex and powering up the creatures under your command in Pokemon Go, but to perform some evolutions you’ll need evolutionary stones including the Unova Stone.

The Unova Stone is one of several evolutionary items or evolution stones in Pokemon Go, and like the Sinnoh Stone, it represents an item to evolve certain Pokemon that made their debut in a certain region: Unova. Unova is the region where Pokemon Black and White took place, thus the stone’s black and white color scheme – and it’s Pokemon that made their debut in that game that are evolved by the item.

Unlike the Sinnoh Stone, the Unova Stone doesn’t evolve existing Pokemon into new forms – rather, it forces Pokemon from Unova to evolve into other forms that also made their first debut in Unova.

Now, I dont want to sound like a nagging Poke-parent ironic given how lax parents are in the main games but its time to up your game and start playing Pokemon Go every day. Yep, on your feet soldier. If you arent already, this small step will guarantee you a Pokemon Go evolution item every seven days from your seven day Pokestop streak and increase your odds of finding a Sinnoh Stone.

Regular special items such as Up-Grades and Kings Rocks sometimes even drop from regular Poke Stops but making sure to spin a Poke Stop every day and working towards your streak will ensure you get at least one every week. Bear in mind though that its impossible to predict what youll get so you might have to see a few Metal Coats before you find the Sun Stone you want.

The Sinnoh Stone, introduced with Gen 4, is a significantly trickier find but not impossible. There are two main ways to find a Sinnoh Stone. The first is to complete your seven day research breakthrough tasks. This essentially means earning one stamp each day until you earn a legendary Pokemon encounter. If youre lucky, at the same time, youll earn a Sinnoh Stone but they are not guaranteed. The second way to find one is to take part in trainer battles via PvP. Sinnoh Stones have been known to drop for both winners and losers. Good luck!

How To Get Unova And Sinnoh Stones In Pokmon Go

Better get to grinding if you want to evolve your Pokémon.

Certain Pokémon require different circumstances to be met before they can evolve, such as trading them, giving them an item, or even simply leveling them up through battle.

But in Pokémon Go, things are set up a little differently because you dont gain experience through battling or use items in the same way that you would in the main series of games.

Specifically, for Pokémon that originate from the Sinnoh or Unova regions, there are special regional stones that you can use to achieve those evolutions in combination with the typical Stardust usage. These items are called the Sinnoh Stone and Unova Stone, and they only work on Pokémon that are from these respective regions.

This is a simple mechanic that replaces the need for multiple stones and other items in the game, making it easy to obtain any special evolution. This works for stone evolutions like Roselia to Roserade, Pokémon that require a specific move to evolve like Piloswine to Mamoswine, and even held item trade evolutions like Electabuzz to Electivire.

But even though the mechanic is easy to use, the stones themselves are a little harder to come by then some of the more basic items in the game.

How To Get An Unova Stone In Pokemon Go

Get on those research tasks and make sure you complete one a day as you will have a chance to get an Unova stone once every seven days if you do.

They tend to drop the most commonly from these research tasks, specifically when you collect the rewards for completing seven days worth but, and this is frustrating, it is no guarantee. You could also end up with a Sinnoh stone but the best advice is to just keep doing these and hope that you get lucky.

The word is that you will also be able to get one from PVP battles at some point but right now that hasnt been added so we just have the research tasks at the moment.

Interestingly, this special evolutionary item is only used with one evolution. If you want to use a Dragon Scale, youll need a Seadra. Seadra evolves from Horsea, but you might be able to catch one if youre lucky.

When you do, youll need to combine the Dragon Scale with 100 Horsea Candies if you want to evolve Seadra into a Kingdra. You earn these candies in the traditional way Either you catch lots of Horsea with berries or you walk around with a Horsea as your Buddy Pokemon. You can also transfer spare Horsea to the Professor for candies Yknow, because youll probably have quite a few spare. Just make sure you check stats and appraise before you decide which Seadra to evolve!

How To Get A Sun Stone In Pokmon Bdsp

Sun Stones are one of the hardest Evolution Stones to come across as there are none in the overworld, requiring that players either mine one or catch a Pokémon thats holding one. However, theres a chance that a wild Solrock will be holding a Sun Stone when it is caught. Trainers can find Solrock in Still-Water Caverns, Stargleam Caverns, Riverbank Caves, and Dazzling Caves in the Grand Underground once they have the National Dex. In addition, sun Stones can be used to evolve two species of Pokémon from the National Dex:

    • Gloom to Bellossom

The Sun Stone is another of the new Evolution Items that can be used in conjunction with Pokemon Candy to evolve some of the Gen 1 Pokemon to new Gen 2 evolutions.

Initially there were rumors indicating that Evolution Items were guaranteed rewards for 7-day Pokestop streaks, but that has been discredited. Evolution items are incredibly rare and have less than a 1% chance of being found at Pokestops.

However, as of an app update in late March 2017 you are now guaranteed an Evolution Item for a 7-day Pokestop streak.

Currently, the applicable Pokemon for this item is Gloom, who can evolve into Bellossom using the Sun Stone as well as 100 OddishCandy, or into Vileplume using just candy and Sunkern, who can evolve into Sunflora using the Sun Stone as well as 50 Sunkern Candy.
