What Pokemon Type Has The Least Weaknesses

Everything You Need To Know About Pokemon Types

Top 10 Pokemon with Least Type Weakness

An important part of battling in any version of Pokemon is knowing all 18 Pokemon types and how they interact with one another.

Right from the start of each game, players are introduced to this with a round of rock-paper-scissors in the form of choosing a fire, water, or grass Pokemon as their first partner. From there, other types like flying, bug, and rock all appear which benefits some of these choices, and can harshly punish others.

This introduces fans to one of the core mechanics of the Pokemon series, and also serves as the foundation for every installment in the franchise including Pokemon GO and the Pokemon TCG. With that in mind, its worth looking at and memorizing each type and how they interact with one another.

Tips On How To Remember Pokmon Types

For anyone who has invested years of play into this series, the type system becomes second nature. While in time your memory too will retain most of, if not the full set of relationships it is worth learning the logical relationships that do exist.

The classic example taught at the beginning of every Pokémon game is that fire is super effective against grass, which is in turn super effective against water, which is in turn super effective against fire. This is easy enough to follow fire burns grass, grass thrives with water, water puts out fire but finding similar relationships in the other 18 types is will help you remember the system.

Here are some other ideas to get you started:

  • Rocks effectiveness against flying is reminiscent of the phrase kill two birds with one stone
  • Similarly, psychic is effective against fighting because brains are better than brawn but psychic is vulnerable to dark and ghost because the mind cannot cope with the unknown and supernatural
  • Ground types are immune to electric attacks because being grounded is an important principle in electric circuits but ground can be swept away be water, cracked by ice and exploited by grass.

With the addition of new types over the years, the Pokémon type system has got a little more complicated than Rock-Paper-Scissors, but once youve committed the above to memory , youll have no problem finding the right Pokémon for the right job.

Pokemon Go Type Chart: Strengths Effectiveness Weaknesses And Resistances Explained

In Pokemon Go, Every type of Pokemon has four different relationships with other types any trainer should be aware of. That is:

  • Strong Against: represented on our type chart as Strong Vs, attacks from the listed type against the type listed here will deal additional damage to your opponent. This is Super Effective.
  • Weak Against: represented here as Weak Vs, attacks from the listed type against these types will do less damage to the enemy. This is Not very effective
  • Resistance: listed as resist, taking attacks from this type will do much less damage to you.
  • Vulnerable: your types weaknesses. Attacks of these types will deal more damage watch out!

So, for instance, Offensively a Ground-type Pokemon/move is Strong against Poison, Rock, Steel, Fire and Electric types, dealing double damage to them. It only does 50% damage against Flying, Bug and Grass Pokemon. Defensively, that same Ground-type Pokemon will take reduced damage from Poison, Rock and Electric Pokemon but also take double damage from Water, Grass and Ice which is vulnerable to.

With that explained, lets get into the Pokemon Go type chart in full.

Scizor Is Weak To Fire Type Attacks

Scizor is one of 6 Pokémon that are Bug and Steel types. Even its Mega Evolution retains these types. Scizor and Mega Scizor are superior to their first form, Scyther, because they are only weak to Fire.

Scizor has a body as durable as steel, and it uses its wings to keep its body from overheating and melting, which is crucial since even the Pokémon’s muscles are comprised solely of metal. As long as a trainer isn’t fighting a Fire type Pokémon, Scizor is a great pick.

Eelektrik and its evolved form Eelektross are the only Pokémon with absolutely no weaknesses. Electric Pokémon only have a single weakness to Ground moves, but since Eelektross has the ability Levitate, all Ground type moves have no effect.

This Pokemon may look frightening, but for any trainer who wants a Pokémon with no type weaknesses, the fully evolved Eelektross is the perfect fit for any team.

Tyranitar Is A Rock & Dark Type

Tyranitar is popular among fans because it looks intimidating and powerful. Although strong enough to be a great addition to a trainer’s team, Tyranitar has a surprising amount of weaknesses that a trainer needs to be wary of. These are: Fighting, Ground, Bug, Steel, Water, Grass, and Fairy.

These weaknesses are still present even if Tyranitar undergoes Mega Evolution. Surprisingly, Tyranitar’s previous evolutions, Larvitar and Pupitar, have one less weakness than Tyranitar does because they are Rock/Ground Types.

Quick Answer: What Are Fairy Type Pokemon Weak Against

Fairy-type Pokémon are strong against Dragon, Dark, and Fighting-type Pokémon, but are weak to Poison and Steel types. With Fairy Pokémons vulnerability to two different types of moves, theres a variety of counters worth picking if youre going up against Fairy types in your next battle.

What Is Weak To What

If youre here, you probably dont know the type weaknesses and resistances. Also, maybe you dont know that when a pokmon uses an attack of its type, like if an elecrtic pokmon uses an electric attack, the damage is multiplied by 1.5. Well, here are the types:

Normal is a plain type. Some people say its useless, but others say its great. Id say Normal type pokmon are good, many of them have good status and they have only one weakness, Fighting, and are competely immune to Ghost, although they resist no other type. Normal type attacks, however, are not as good. No type is weak to them, but Ghost is immune to Normal and Rock and Steel resist it. But Normal attacks can be the solution to your problems anyway, as most pokmon can learn Normal attacks and many of them are strong. The Normal type is a physical type, so all Normal attacks are counted as physical attacks.

Fire is a hot type. Fire is a powerful type that should be on every team. Scizor and Forretress, both very common in teams, are only weak to Fire. Fire is super effective on Bug, Steel, Grass and Ice and is not very effective on Fire, Water, Rock and Dragon. No type is immune to Fire. Water, Rock and Ground are super effective on Fire pokmon and Fire, Grass, Bug, Ice and Steel are not very effective on them. The Fire type is a special type, so all Fire attacks are counted as special attacks.

Solrock Is A Rock & Psychic Type

Solrock is weak to 6 types of Pokémon. These include Bug, Ghost, Steel, Water, Grass, and Dark. As a Rock type, Solrock should be weak to the Ground type too.

However, its ability Levitate actually keeps its body off of the ground, meaning that it is completely immune to Ground type moves. Although Solrock has many weaknesses, it has the ability to sense what others are thinking, giving it an advantage.

Pokemon Type Weaknesses Explained

Even fully loving Fairy-type Pokémon has its disadvantages as a full Fairy team wont cover their weaknesses well enough. The strongest ones, like the Tapus, Mega-Gardevoir, Mimikyu, or Mega-Mawile, are good choices on a team, but being spoiled for choice isnt always a good thing. Many Fairy-types are just above average in terms of move pools, base stat totals, and versatility. Shiinotic the Grass/Fairy type was added in Gen VII and only has a 405 base stat total the same as many stage 1 Pokémon like Combusken, Haunter, and Prinplup.

Even Pokémon like Hatterene who has a 510 total are limited by a small move pool of mostly Psychic and Fairy moves. Its unfortunate, but not every Pokémon is going to be viable to use. Of course, no one can stop players from using their favorites anyway.

Pokemon Fighting Type Strengths

The good news, if youre the one using one, is fighting Pokemon have more strengths than weaknesses. Theyll do extra damage to any Dark, Ice, Normal, Rock, or Steel Pokemon.

That means a Fighting type Pokemon makes an excellent counter to some powerhouse foes:

  • Dark: Tyranitar, Hydreigon, Krookodile, Wavile, Bisharp, etc.
  • Ice: Kyurem, Mamoswine, Glaceon, Regice, Articuno, etc.
  • Normal: Slaking, Meloetta, Porygon-Z, Snorlax, Braviary, etc.
  • Rock: Tyranitar, Rhyperior, Terrakion, Archeops, Rampardos, etc.
  • Steel: Dialga, Metagross, Melmetal, Genesect, Excadrill, etc.

What Is Dragon Type Weak Too

In the games, Dragon types are only weak against Ice and Dragon type moves. They are also highly resistant to Fire, Electric, Grass and Water type moves, with all four being featured as the starting Pokémons types in the first Generation.
