Theres no precise method to encountering a shiny Pokémon. You wont be able to tell theres one in front of you until you click on it and attempt to catch it. When you do, several stars sparkle around the Pokémon. It wont have the same colors as the traditional Pokémon. It should have different shades. For example, if you encounter a shiny Charmander, it wont look red and yellow, it should have a black outer layer and a yellow stomach.

Those within the event radius had a chance of catching a Shiny Pikachu, which much like the Red Gyarados, could also be evolved into a shiny Raichu.
These have since been made available around the world, and was expanded on with a shiny hatted Pikachu as part of the 2018 Pokémon Day.
Shiny Gen 3 Ghosts: As the Halloween event in 2018 – which introduced the first Gen 3 creatures – rolled on, shiny variations of all five new creatures started to appear.

Generation Viii Pokemon Gets Shiny Form Available Through Eggs
Galarian Meowth is one of several Pokemon that will be hatching from 7km eggs. Fortunately, all of the 7km hatches have a chance to be shiny, including Galarian Meowth, who can evolve into shiny Perrserker.
The 7km eggs are a good bet to hatch regional variants. Typically, these eggs hatch Alolan and Galarian forms.
Perrserker usually has a silver coating along with its black body. Its shiny trades in the silver for a gold coating, giving a splash of color to what is typically a greyscale design.
Meowth is lucky in that it is the only Pokemon to receive two regional forms. In Generation VII, Meowth received an Alolan form that, like Rattata, changed it from Normal-type to Dark-type. This Meowth would evolve into Alolan Persian, which was used on Nabus team in Pokemon Sun and Moon, as well as its sequels.
Despite its mediocre stats, Perrserker can be a niche pick in the Great League meta. It gets 195 base Attack, and a Steel-type Pokemon is always welcome on any team. Perrserker also gets a vast movepool, with access to moves like Play Rough, Close Combat, Foul Play, Shadow Claw and Iron Head.

Eevee is the main theme of August 2021 Community Day in Pokémon Go, which will sees the highly adaptable Pokémon have increased spawns across an entire weekend .

Some Pokémon can only be obtained in their Shiny form for a limited time, after which they cannot be obtained again until either a new event occurs or they are made permanently available.
- Mew can currently only be obtained in its Shiny form as the final reward for the Special Research All-in-One #151, which required a purchase from Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto.
