The Alluring Galarica Spice

Pokemon Sword and Shield: Isle of Armor

The Slowpoke of the Galar region used to eat the seeds of a certain plant that grew in their habitat, as this was their favorite food. These seeds were in fact Galarica seeds, used to this day as an essential spice for cooking. The Slowpoke in Galar built up particles of this spice in their bodies over several generations, eventually gaining the unique appearance and behavior they are known for today.

How To Get Kanto Slowpoke And Evolve It To Slowking In Pokmon Sword And Shields Isle Of Armor Expansion

For once, you aren’t going to be looking in the tall grass.

Youll likely run into your fair share of Galarian Slowpoke while running around the Isle of Armor. But if you want to get a Kantonian Slowpoke, you might need to do a little searching.

You cant actually find the original form of Slowpoke in Pokémon Sword and Shields Isle of Armor expansion. But that doesnt mean its unavailable.

The only way you can actually get Kantonian Slowpoke in-game is by helping find 150 Alolan Diglett scattered throughout the new map. That side quest will have you travel to each of the named locations on the Isle of Armor and look around for the Mole Pokémon.

You wont actually need to finish the quest to get the Slowpoke, though. In fact, youll only need to find 10. Thats easily doable just by exploring the Isle of Armor naturally because youll run into several Diglett that are hidden in plain sight during your travels.

Once you find 10 of the Alolan native, you can talk to the NPC claiming to be their trainer and hell give you a reward. Among the first rewards is a Kantonian Slowpoke with the Hidden Ability Regenerator.

From there, youre free to breed and get as many Kantonian Slowpoke as you want. And the best part is that gift Pokémon will also come holding a Kings Rock. That means all you need to do is trade it and you can get a Slowking, too.

How To Get Galarian Slowbro In ‘pokmon Sword And Shield’ Isle Of Armor Dlc

The only new Pokémon in the Isle of Armor DLC for Sword and Shield is Galarian Slowpoke and its evolution, Slowbro.

While Sword and Shield players already had access to Galarian Slowpoke when The Isle of Armor DLC was announced earlier this year, they were unable to evolve it. A special item is needed to evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowbro and now that The Isle of Armor is accessible, so is this item.

Read on to learn how to evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Slowbro and how to find the items needed.

HOW TO EVOLVE GALARIAN SLOWPOKE INTO SLOWBRO

Galarian Slowpoke can only evolve into Galarian Slowbro through a special item called the Galarica Cuff. This item acts like an evolution stone where you’ll need to use it on your Galarian Slowpoke to cause its evolution.

However, you’ll need to find Galarica Twigs in order to obtain this special item.

HOW TO GET ITEMS NEEDED TO EVOLVE SLOWPOKE INTO SLOWBRO

Trainers will need to find eight Galarica Twigs that are scattered throughout the Isle of Armor.

These twigs are presented as hidden items on the base of trees around the island. If you need a refresher, Hidden items are the glowing specs on the ground that can be picked up by standing next to it and pressing the A button.

On this island there is a non-playable character there who you’ll need to speak to. If you have a Galarian Slowpoke on your team when you speak to her, you’ll receive a customization item for your trainer.

Everything Else We Know About Galarian Slowpoke And Galarian Slowbro

Galarian Slowpoke and Galarian Slowbro made their first appearances in the Pokémon universe in the Isle of Armor DLC for Pokémon Sword and Shield. You don’t, however, have to own the DLC to catch a Galarian Slowpoke, because a short preview event for the DLC allows you to catch one in Wedgehurst Station.

Like all regional variants, Galarian Slowpoke and Galarain Slowbro have different appearances compared to their Gen 1 counterparts.

Galarian Slowpoke has abandoned its full pink body for a yellow tail tip and head, including worry lines. Galarain Slowbro, meanwhile, differs further from it’s Gen 1 design with splodges of purple and a Shellder attached to its right-hand rather than its tail.

The typing for both Galarian Slowpoke and Galarian Slowbro also differs from their original forms, with Galarian Slowpoke being a pure psychic-type Pokémon and Galarian Slowbro being a poison and psychic-type. The change in Galarian Slowbro’s typing is said to have been caused by the Shellder bite causing a chemical reaction with the spices inside Slowbro’s body.

There is a Galarian Slowking too, which debuted in the Crown Tundra DLC for Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Like the other Galarian variants in the Slowpoke evolution line, it differs in both typing – becoming a poison and water-type Pokémon – and appearance, with the Shellder now swallowing its entire head.

Good luck catching and evolving a Galarian Slowpoke!

How To Obtain Galarian Slowking In Pokmon Sword & Shield

What you might have missed in Pokemon Sword & Shield Crown ...

Much like how players were required to collect Galarica Twigs to craft a pair of Galarica Cuffs to evolve Slowpoke into Slowbro, they will once again need to collect 15 Galarica Twigs. This means that Galarian Slowking can’t be found in the wild, but players will have to evolve a Galarian Slowpoke in order to obtain one. In the Isle of Armor, when a Galarian Slowpoke was given a set of Galarica Cuffs it would evolve into a Slowbro, but in the Crown Tundra, Slowpoke needs a Galarica Wreath to evolve into a Slowking.

Galarica Twigs can be found under trees in both the Crown Tundra and Isle of Armor. Players will need 15 of these to craft a Galarica Wreath. After collecting the required amount, head to the Frigid Sea of the Crown Tundra and find the woman inside the Roaring Sea Cave who can make Galarica Wreaths. She is found by heading to the left side of the Frigid Sea through a narrow river corridor. Once crafted, the player can give the Galarica Wreath to their Galarian Slowpoke and it will evolve into a Galarian Slowking.

It is important to note that Galarian Slowpoke can only be found on the Isle of Armor. Players will need to catch one on the Isle and bring it with them to the Crown Tundra. Evolving a Slowpoke is the only way to obtain a Slowking as they cannot be found in the wild, in max raids, or in raid dens.

Back when this was first announced, one of the first teases was that of a special new Galarian Slowpoke that you could get. The Isle of Armor not only has the Galarian Slowpoke, but also allows you to evolve this variant into its Slowbro form. This isnt done just by leveling up or anything though, so weve created a guide explaining just how you can do this in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Pokemon Sword And Shield: How To Get Galarian Slowking

You’ll need to collect lots of Galarica Twigs.

The Isle of Armor expansion for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield included lots of new Pokemon for players to add to their collections. One of these was Galarian Slowpoke.

Galarian Slowpoke has two possible evolutions — Galarian Slowbro and Galarian Slowking — but when The Isle of Armor expansion was released, only Galarian Slowbro was available to collect. Now that The Crown Tundra expansion is available, Galarian Slowking can finally be collected as well.

Heres how!

As reported by Polygon, in order to evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowking, youll need to collect 15 Galarica Twigs and talk to a specific person near the Frigid Sea in order to have them transformed into a Galarica Wreath.

Galarica Twigs are the same items you need to collect to create a Galarica Cuff, the item necessary for evolving Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowbro. You can find Galarica Twigs at random by interacting with the sparkling objects found on the ground all around the Crown Tundra and Isle of Armor.

Once you have 15 Galarica Twigs, head to the Frigid Sea. As Polygon reported, if you travel down the river near the entrance to the Roaring-Sea Caves, youll eventually find an isolated portion of the cave that contains a large room and the woman you need to talk to.

Talk to the woman, and shell offer to make you a Galarica Wreath in exchange for 15 Galarica Twigs. Select Yes to complete this process.

    Where To Find Charmander

Should they beat the odds, defeat Leon, become champion, and watch the credits roll, players will then find themselves back in their house in their hometown of Postwick. Theyre going to want to head from there to the home of Hop, Sword and Shields rival character and Leons brother, and go up the stairs to Hops room . There, lying in the middle of the floor, theyll find a Pokeball with a Charmander inside, along with a note from Leon saying that the vintage Pokemon is a gift.

Unfortunately, this gift starts off pretty weak, as its only level 5 when players find it. Also limiting things a bit is that, like Sword and Shields starter Pokemon, Charmander doesnt have a Shiny form. But on the plus side, by this point players will still have access to a number of high-level battles with wild Pokemon and trainers throughout the Galar region. So long as they start these battles with Charmander before swapping it out, they should be able to boost its levels and get it into fighting shape in record time.
