Pokmon Go: How To Get Gigantamax Melmetal From Pokmon Home
Although Pokémon HOME launched in February 2020, the cloud based Pokémon storage didn’t work with Pokémon Go. Until now. That’s right Pokémon HOME now supports Pokémon Go, so you can transfer all the Pokémon you’d like from the hit mobile game into your Pokémon HOME account where many can then be transferred into Pokémon Sword and Shield. Aside from taking your Pokémon to new games and the infamous Mystery Box, there’s another huge perk to using Pokémon HOME with Pokémon Go: Gigantamax Melmetal!

The best thing to do is to use Pinap Berries until you have over 400 Meltan Candy. This is how much candy is needed to evolve Meltan into Melmetal. Now, just continue to tap the Meltan and run away if they arent Shiny. Repeat this process until a Shiny version appears. If time runs out, players will need to wait a day to try and do this again.
Earlier, the Pokemon Go players could only obtain a Meltan by either linking their account to Pokemon Lets Go Eevee orLets Go Pikachu, or by completing the Special Research quest, Lets go, Meltan. Not only did this quest grant only one Meltan, but

How To Get Melmetal In Pokemon Go And Lets Go
In order to evolve Meltan to its much less cute, bruising-looking larger evolution, youll need to do it in Pokemon Go: Meltan cant evolve in Pokemon Lets Go, only over in Go on mobile. To make it evolve youll need to spend a huge 400 candy so youre going to want to catch many, many Meltan, preferably using Pinap berries. Walking around with Meltan as your buddy Pokemon will help, too. Once evolved, you can send Melmetal back to Lets Go to complete that Pokedex if you want but remember, its a one-way, one-time deal.
In addition to all this, theres also a new series of Pokemon Go special research missions added to the game centered around the mystery of Meltan. These new missions exist in addition to the existing Mew and Celebi A Ripple in Time quests.
It all seems a little complex, but The Pokemon Company and Niantic are clearly working hard to ensure players who are deeply involved in both Pokemon Go and Pokemon Lets Go are rewarded with access to this new Mythical Pokemon. Meltan and Melmetals battle usefulness isnt fully clear yet but generally speaking, Mythical Pokemon always chart well on our Pokemon Go Tier List of the best Pokemon so we have high hopes.

How To Evolve Meltan In Pokemon Go
Meltan evolves pretty simply. You just need 400 Meltan Candy, which is easier said than done. You have to get the Candies the usual ways: catching Meltan, sending it to Willow or just having it walk around as your buddy.
You also get Meltan Candy when you send Meltans to Lets Go Pikachu or Eevee.
According to a Pokemon Home leak, Melmetal will apparently have a Gigantamax form in Sword/Shield. It is currently unknown how to obtain this form, or if it has anything to do with Pokemon Go.

Keep An Eye Out For Events
This is a fairly passive action in relation to collecting Meltans, but it’s a truth that carries over across all Pokemon media. Nintendo and, by extension, Niantic enjoy their promotional events that keep player attention focused on their games and keep people coming back.
There may yet be an event for Meltan and Melmetal on the horizon that we don’t know about. Heck, they may even put out an event to give a Melmetal to Sword and Shield. Both are easily within the realm of possibility.

- Evolve a Magnemite
- Catch 5 Exeggcute
- Battle in 10 Raids
Hopefully players have saved up enough candies to evolve a Magnemite before this. As for catching Exeggcute, this should happen as players walk around because the creature isnt all that uncommon. Finally, trainers dont necessarily have to win the raids they take part in, so they are free to jump in and then jump out with their daily raid pass to complete this challenge. Finishing off this quest will net them a Silver Pinap Berry, a Metal Coat, and 10 Ultra Balls.

Other Things To Know About The Pokmon Go Mystery Box Meltan And Melmetal
There are quite a few specifics to keep in mind, due to all the technicalities that come into play with transferring Pokémon and the Mystery Box’s new mechanics, too! Here’s everything you should bear in mind about each.
How the Mystery Box works in Pokémon Go
- You only get one Mystery Box – once you’ve transferred a Pokémon from Go to Let’s Go for the first time, it’ll stay in your inventory permanently.
- The Mystery Box only opens once per week – once you press Open, you have to wait a full seven days to open it again.
- You need to transfer a Pokémon from Go to Let’s Go every time you want to open it – so once that seven-day timer runs down, transfer another Pokémon. It’s not clear yet whether you have to wait until the counter runs down and then transfer a Pokémon, or if you can ‘stack’ them in advance, so to speak. We assume you’ll need to wait!
- The Mystery Box only affects you in Pokémon Go – it basically functions like a special type of Incense, not like a Lure. Meltan only appear for you, not those who happen to be around you at the time.
- You can link as many Pokémon Go accounts as you like to a copy of Let’s Go – so one copy of Let’s Go can be a source of Mystery Boxes for an infinite number of different Pokémon Go accounts. We knew you could have multiple, but it’s good to confirm there’s no limit! It also, of course, means it doesn’t have to be your copy of Let’s Go. You just need to have permission to link it with someone’s.
Is Meltan A Legendary
Meltan is the newest legendary Pokémon Polygon.
Does the Meltan box expire? Pokémon GO
The Meltan will stop appearing after the boxs timer has expired. The Mystery Box will then remain shut on a seven-day countdown timer.
Can Meltan still be shiny after event?
Shiny Meltan, previously released as a limited-time Shiny, can once again be encountered in Pokémon GO during this event. While Shiny Darumaka will remain available after the event, Shiny Meltan will once again go into hiding after its over. Heres how you can encounter them both.
Is shiny Meltan rare? Down from 4% in 2018, Pokemon have been observed during Pokemon GO Fest and Safari Zone events having a boosted shiny chance of 1.6%. In situations where shiny Meltan has been available, it has also retained a shiny percentage of 1.6%.
How To Get A Meltan Mystery Box By Transferring To Pokemon Home In Pokemon Go
When they first arrived, Meltan mystery boxes were the sole property of Nintendo Switch owners and their friends, and even after that you needed to put some decent playtime into Pokemon Lets Go Eevee or Pikachu in order to actually access one. I even know people that bought Switches to get them! Mostly the sort of retired, committed Pokemon GO player that clearly is comfortable burning some money, but still. Now, however, Pokemon HOME functionality has come to Pokemon GO, and that means that these things are available to the masses. Lets go
To start: a Meltan mystery box is a special item that you can use to spawn a whole bunch of Meltan around you: those are the weird little hex-nuts-on-silvery-slime creatures that marked the only Pokemon introduced for the first time in Pokemon GO. You get them from transferring

What Is Gigantamax Melmetal
Melmetal is a Mythical Steel type Pokémon originally introduced in Gen VII and until recently, only available in Pokémon Go. It’s the evolved form of Meltan, the only Pokémon to be introduced in Pokémon Go before the core games. While Meltan is tiny and not particularly useful, Melmetal is a powerful Pokémon worth far more than just a Pokédex entry. Although Melmetal was exclusive to Pokémon Go, now that Pokémon Go can be connected to Pokémon HOME, you can transfer Melmetal into HOME and bring it over to Sword and Shield.
Even better, to celebrate the inclusion of Pokémon Go in Pokémon HOME, Melmetal now has a Gigantamax form. This extra powerful form allows Melmetal to cllimb to towering heights and pose a real threat to Dynamaxed and Gigantamaxed Pokémon. And you can get this awesome Pokémon for free, just for using Pokémon Go and Pokémon HOME.
What Is Meltan And How Was Meltan First Revealed
The mysterious Meltan appeared in the wild in Pokémon Go at the conclusion of the September Community Day, flooding the map en mass.
Though it seemed like a regular creature – complete with its own animations, and even appearing on the Nearby radar – there were a few key differences:
- It had no name or CP
- Catching it would see it transform into Ditto
- As a result, after catching, there is no record of it in your Pokédex or elsewhere

Melmetal Evolution Of Meltan In Pokmon Go
From a recent trailer, it seems that the Meltan weve seen so far is not its true form. He has a secret to unravel, and we are sure that it is through evolution. The shadow of this new shape can be seen at the end of the trailer below, showing a much larger, more elaborately designed pokémon.
Everything we detailed above was confirmed by The Pokémon Company in an update to the original blog post. Melmetal is the evolved form of Meltan, making Meltan the first Mythic Pokémon to receive an evolution. Melmetal has a unique physical movement of the Steel type called Double Iron Bash. With this powerful movement, Melmetal uses the nut on his chest as an axis to rotate his arms, giving the opponent a double strike. The weight of the sows on your arms, combined with this rotating motion, gives this attack extraordinary power. After hitting the target, you can even make it wince.
