Alolan Raichu Pokemon Type Weakness
So with everything in mind, what comes out on top? Probably Ground-type Pokemon, you see all of Dark, Ghost and Bug dont actually resist Electric-type moves, which dominate Alolan Raichus possible attacks, while Ground-types are immune. Dark-types, in particular, are probably the worst bet here, as they have no advantages beyond their damage increase, Bug and Ghost-types would both perform better.

Pokemon Go: Top Movesets For Alolan Raichu In Pve And Pvp
Though the surfing Alolan Pokemon may not seem intimidating, it can be a powerful offensive force in both PvE and PvP battles in Pokemon GO. By utilizing its Electric-type moves, Alolan Raichu can harness the damage boost from a Same Type Attribute Bonus which is implemented when a Pokemon of a certain type uses a move that matches its type.
Players can find the rationale for top movesets for Alolan Raichu in Pokemon GO for both PvE and PvP play here:
- If Pokemon GO trainers are opting to use Raichu for defensive PvE play, they may swap Thunder Shock for Volt Switch, but using either should provide good efficiency in both energy and damage potential.
What Counters Alolan Raichu In Pokemon Go
If youre familiar with the Pokemon Series, youre probably aware by now that certain type matchups interact in ways that will influence how much damage you take and can deal in battle, with attacks against a type weakness known as super effective! for example. Alolan Raichu is an Electric/Psychic dual-type Pokemon, which gives it a fair number of favourable matchups, and a few that are less favourable, known as counter matchups.
Due to this typing, Alolan Raichu is resistant to 5 different types, including its own two types alongside Fighting, Flying and Steel-type attacks. It does also grant it more weaknesses than the typical Raichu form however, with a type weakness against Bug, Dark, Ghost and Ground-type attacks.
All of these types will deal 160% of their base damage against Alolan Raichu, giving us a nice set of options. But say we have access to all of these, which is the best to use?

Lets take a look through what Alolan Raichu can do and see if we can find some answers to that, shall we?
In battles in Pokemon Go, Alolan Raichu can use 4 different fast attacks and 5 different charged attacks. For fast attacks, 3 of them are Electric-Type moves, while the 4th is a Fairy-type attack. Charged attacks are a similar story, with another 3 Electric-type attacks combined with the normal-type Skull bash and the fighting-type Brick Break.

The Season of Mischief is here!Current events, include the Psychic Spectacular, the Season 9 of Go Battle League, the addition of Raid Achievements and the Misunderstood Mischief research quest. Shiny Ditto can also now be found in the wild and this tricky Pokémon is now appearing as new creatures!Meanwhile, the last major update saw a level cap increase – including the addition of XL Candy, boosts to some XP sources and the addition of Platinum Medals. Inkay and Malamar are now in Pokémon Go!
Thunder Shock* Or Spark + Wild Charge And Brick Break Or Thunder Punch
The legacy Thunder Shock is generally superior to Spark due to greater energy generation, which lets Raichu access its powerful charge moves sooner. The latter can still be used, though it’s not as ideal. Charm doesn’t fit Raichu’s role, though it can catch opponents off guard.
Wild Charge is the primary charge move for Raichu, threatening huge damage against many opponents if unshielded. Brick Break offers some coverage against some counter-picks and common Steel-types, though from a stats perspective it’s one of the worst charge moves in the game. Thunder Punch can also be a viable option, though you lose some coverage.

The Best Moveset For Alolan Raichu In Pokemon Go
Appearing recently as a Pokemon GOraid boss and a popular pick in Great League PvP, Alolan Raichu is an effective battler in ways its Kanto region counterparts doesn’t quite measure up to.
Trainers who may have recently acquired the Electric/Psychic-type Pokemon may be wondering what moves fit it best. Though Alolan Raichu has a fair collection of moves, some perform better than others, and the role that trainers seek for this Pokemon will determine what moves they should focus on for combat.
Alolan Raichu excels when using its Electric-type moves, much like standard Raichu, but picking up an extra Charge Move of a different type can improve damage spread.
Anything Else To Mention
Thats really it for the weakness and counters of Alolan Raichu in Pokemon Go. To summarise, Ground-types dominate for this one and should be your first choice, while Bug and Ghost-types vie closely for second place.
Dark-types should be your last resort pick for a super-effective Pokemon in this battle, as it can be countered by an Alolan Raichu making use of Brick Break.
With that answer now found, thats everything for this quick Alolan Raichu counters guide for Pokemon Go, hopefully you found this useful whether you wanted the information about its weakness for battles, raids or even PvP.

Alolan Raichu Pvp Guide
Alolan Raichu rewards trainers with an aggressive energy farming playstyle. If given an energy lead, it can be an extremely dominating threat to deal with. If you can shield lethal charge moves and keep Alolan Raichu alive, you will be rewarded with excessive baiting potential and powerful damage output.
Alolan Raichu at its current state is the most viable it has ever been. With such a diverse arsenal of attacks, your opponent wont even know whats coming.
With its dual typing of Electric and Psychic, Alolan Raichu has 4 weaknesses, Dark, Ground, Ghost and Bug type. However, dont let this scare you away from using it in the Great League as even its counters can take some solid damage from its deadly Charge Moves.
First things first, lets burn those Fast TMs on Spark and replace it with Thunder Shock. Not only is Thunder Shock more energy-efficient, it also allows for the use of Charge Moves to be used much more often than any other accessible Quick Move.
With a diverse amount of Charge Moves, Alolan Raichu can be used in many different ways and playstyles. If youre using Alolan Raichu as a pure Electric type then youre going to need Thunder Shock, Wild Charge and Thunder Punch. Thunder Punch will be your main tool for baiting shields while Wild Charge will be that tremendously hard-hitting K.O potential attack.
Flower Crown Pokmon In Pokmon Go
Flower crowns in Pokémon Go are not flower crowns, they are flower hair clips crowns encircle a head, not hoover awkwardly above the right eye. Notably, it’s possible to evolve a flower crown Eeevee, which, if you’re not using an eeveelution trick, will result in a random flower crown eeveelution.
The easiest way to ensure you get the eeveelution you desire is to use the Eevee evolution name trick. This, however, only works once, so, if you’ve already used it to add that specific eeveelution to your Pokédex, then you need to try another method.
If you’re aiming for either an Espeon or Umbreon, then you’ll need to walk with the Eevee you wish to evolve as your buddy for 10km. Once you’ve done this, evolving this specific Eevee during the day will reward you with an Espeon or, at night, an Umbreon.
For a Leafeon or Glaceon, it’s time to use those special lures at your nearest PokéStop. Placing a Mossy Lure Module will allow you to evolve the Eevee into a Leafeon, while a Glacial Lure Module will transform it into a Glaceon.

Pokemon Go: Raichu Raid Counters And Weakness
Raichu is a Tier 3 raid boss who has around 15380 Raid Boss CP. It is not easy to counter Raichu raids but some of the most effective and strong counters include Ghost and Dark-type Pokemon like Gengar, Shadow Ball Mewtwo and Tyranitar. Alola Raichu is a raid exclusive Pokémon that comes along with Alolan Marowak. Its stats include 201 ATK, 172 DEF, and 120 STA which is not that intimidation stats from a raid boss. Raichu belongs to the Electric and Psychic-type of Pokemon and its weakness will be Dark, Ground, Ghost and Bug-type pokemon. If you beat the raid boss, then its caught CP will rate from 1238 1306 CP and 1548- 1633 CP . Here are Raichu’s moveset and some pokemon to use against him.
Entering Great League Battles
Pokémon GO‘s Battle Leagues are restricted for Trainers in level 10 and above. When participating in this type of PvP tournament, you can only choose three Pokémons with 1,500 Combat Power limit each.
What’s great about the Great League is, compared with the Ultra and Master Leagues, it offers low-tier Pokémon and low-level Trainers a place to shine. According to Pokémon GO Hub, a Level 15 Legendary can land well under 1,500 CP.
So, there you go, Trainers! Good luck on climbing the ranked ladder. But remember this: whether you are an amateur or a veteran in Pokémon GO PvP battles, knowing which Pokémon to use for certain situations can make or break your winning streak.

Has Raichu Any Use In Pvp
I’ve got a perfect Pikachu that reaches 1496CP after envolving to Raichu.
Could be interesting, good electric moves and only 1 weakness, but great league is full of whiscash and flygon, so ground moves are fairly prevalent. You could try it out and let us know how it fares.
Absolutely yes, I’ve loved it so far. It is slightly lower TDO than Raikou but has access to a wonderful coverage move in Brick Break. Ideal movesets is legacy thundershock though Spark will get the job done. Good counter to Azumarill and Charizard and a generally good low weakness shield waster. Also take a look at Luxio which has great coverage in crunch but a bit lower TDO than Raichu and more cost.
Thanks! I finally evolved my Pikachu. Should I put him Thunder Punch/Brick Break or go to Wild Charge?
Raichu has got to be the best solely Electric type for Great League competition simply because of Brick Break.
Jolteon can get Last Resort, and Manectric learns Flame Burst, but both leave them vulnerable to the common Rock/Ground combination .
Grass/Poison, Grass/Psychic, or Ground/Flying is really all you have to worry about with Raichu for a guaranteed ineffective hit. If Grass really takes off, I guess Manectric would be a better choice as far as Electric types go, but with currently zero hats, Manectric is at a huge disadvantage compared to Raichu.

Of course, both versions of Raichu come with their own strengths and weaknesses, and choosing which one to use depends mostly on preference. Here are our favorite movesets for both Raichu and Alolan Raichu in Pokémon Go.

There is a good selection of costumed Pichus for you to collect in Pokémon Go.

Using The Move Rankings
Each Pokemon has a pool of Fast Moves and a pool of Charged Moves. Some moves might be better in one battle, and other moves might be better in another. For Trainer Battles, you’ll want know which moves will be the best ones to have in the most matchups. You might also want to know which Pokemon are the best candidates for a second Charged Move. The move details within each Pokemon ranking can help you determine that.
Moves are ranked using calculations primarily based on their damage and energy cost. Stat changes are also factored in. These calculations are run for each matchup, and then totaled across the format. Matchup weighting affects these numbers as well, so moves that would be used against significant meta targets will rank higher.
When looking at potential moves, keep an eye out for Pokemon that have a strong tendency toward a single Fast Move and a single Charged Move. These Pokemon will have their optimal moveset in the most matchups. On the other hand, some Pokemon see more balanced usage in their Charged Moves. This is where having a second Charged Move comes into play.
As an exercise, select any one Pokemon in the Team Builder tool and compare its battle histograms when it has one Charged Move and when it has two. If a second Charged Move improves its matchups, it might be one worth investing in.
