What Is Pokemon Let’s Go

There Are Key Differences Between Let’s Go Pikachu And Let’s Go Eevee

Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee – Gameplay Walkthrough Part 1 – Intro and Gym Leader Brock!

While the gameplay and story of both versions of “Pokémon: Let’s Go” is the same, there are a few key differences. Most obviously, the version of the game you pick will determine your partner Pokémon: Pikachu or Eevee. Each version of the game will also have some exclusive wild Pokémon, and the version will determine how frequently some types of Pokémon appear. The confirmed exclusive Pokémon in “Let’s Go: Pikachu” include Oddish, Sandshrew, and Growlithe. “Let’s Go Eevee” has wild Bellsprout, Vulpix and Meowth. There are certainly more exclusive Pokémon to be found in both games. In order to catch all of the Pokémon in either game, you’ll need to trade with someone who has the opposite version to obtain the other set of exclusive Pokémon.

You Can Play With Your Partner Pokmon

You are also able to play with your partner Pokémon in a feature similar to the Pokémon-Amie feature introduced Pokémon X and Y. You can pet your buddy Pikachu or Eevee, change its hairstyle by petting its head in specific patterns, and feed it berries to make it happy and increase its friendship level.

How To Resurrect Fossils

Though you get these fossils very early on, you can’t actually revive them into full-fledged Pokemon until you reach Cinnabar Island.

Once you get there, head to Cinnabar Lab. It’s to the left of the Pokemon Center.

Go to the back corner on the right, and talk to the man in the lab coat there. He’ll resurrect your fossils into a Pokemon for you, including the Old Amber into Aerodactyl!

Is There Anything Else You Can Do With Your Pokmon

Youll be able to bond with your Pikachu or Eevee by playing, feeding, and petting them in the style of Pokémon Refresh from Sun and Moon and Pokémon Amie from X and Y. Youll also be able to dress up your partner Pokémon in various outfits and even change its hairstyle.

Update : Unlike with previous games, youll be able to change wild Pokémons natures by visiting a fortune teller NPC. The natures raise and lower stats and are a crucial part of competitive battling.

Update :Dressing your trainer and your partner Pokémon requires navigating to the Clothing Trunk inside of your bag. From there, you can select outfits and accessories. You start off with a Sporty Outfit set for both you and your partner and as you travel through Kanto, youll encounter NPCs who will bequeath you some new threads.

Changing your partners hair requires playing in handheld mode. Youll have to enter the Play menu and stroke the screen in various movements with varying amounts of fingers in order to get the desired hairstyle.

Update : You can select a Pokémon to walk around with you in addition to your partner Pikachu or Eevee. And if that selected Pokémon is big enough, you can even ride on it.

Best: Bulbasaur Charmander And Squirtle Can Be Caught

Pokémon Go & Let

Going into Lets Go, everyone more or less figured that Game Freak would stuff the original starters into the games somehow or another. In fact, it was even leaked incredibly early on that Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle were gift Pokémon, but theyre also more than just that.

There’s a first time for everything.

In your journey through Kanto, youll actually find the original three starters in the wild. For the first time in the series, you can catch your Kanto starters out in the open. The gift Pokémon are actually much better with far superior stats, but its still nice being able to catch them.

Travel With An Extra Pokmon By Your Side

Youll either have Pikachu or Eevee hanging on you at all times, but you can also release one additional Pokémon from its Pokéball. We started with Eevee but still had a Pikachu we caught early in travel on our heels. Your companion Pokémons bonding level increases from letting it out of its cramped Pokéball, and you can increase this further by stopping to interact with it. Youll be rewarded in battles at times when the Pokémon cures itself of status conditions, refuses to faint or avoids attacks.

The other benefit of having a Pokémon follow you is that it will find hidden berries. When it stops in its tracks and has a text bubble over its head, you will often receive a few berries.

The Pok Ball Plus Is A Special Controller That Works With Both Pokemon Let’s Go And Pokemon Go

Nintendo will release the a new device called the Poké Ball Plus alongside “Pokémon: Let’s Go.” The Poké Ball Plus is primarily a controller that allows the game to be played with one hand. It functions as a single Joy-Con for the Nintendo Switch with two buttons and a small joystick in the center. Players can use the joystick to move around and can swing the poké ball at the screen when catching pokémon. The Poké Ball Plus also allows players to transfer a Pokémon to the device to be carried around with them, and the ball will glow different colors and make different sounds depending on what Pokémon is inside. Each Poké Ball Plus will come with the legendary Pokémon Mew inside.

The device doubles as a Pokémon Go Plus and can be paired with your smartphone to earn more rewards in the mobile game as well.

Do Any Of The Old Characters Appear

As of now, its confirmed that Professor Oak, Misty and Brock will be appearing! Keep your eyes out for other gym leaders and NPCs coming back. Your rival, however, is a different character with a different personality than Blue.

Update : Lieutenant Surge and Jessie and James of Team Rocket will also be making appearances.

Update : All the Gym Leaders return, as well as Red, Blue and Green.

Catching Pokmon Works The Same Way As Pokmon Go

What ACTUALLY IS Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee?

Encounters with wild pokémon are heavily influenced by the mobile “Pokémon Go.” Players will see wild Pokémon on the screen as they explore and touching them will trigger the encounter.

The game uses the same circular targetting system as “Pokémon Go” and players can either use motion or touch controls to throw a poké ball. A colored circle will show either green, yellow or red to show the chances of catching the Pokémon. Higher level Pokémon will be harder to catch, but players can feed Pokémon wild berries to encourage them to stay in the ball.In past Pokémon games players would need to battle wild pokémon to weaken them before they could be caught. This will still be the case for legendary Pokémon in “Let’s Go” but regular encounters in the wild should be much easier.

How Does Transferring Pokemon From Go Work

The Let’s Go games connect to Pokemon Go via Bluetooth, and the ability to transfer Pokemon from Go is unlocked as you progress through Let’s Go. Once you transfer a Pokemon, it is sent to a specific area called Go Park where you then have to catch it. We don’t yet know how stats will transfer .

Masuda did confirm that Pokemon that are shiny in Go will remain shiny in Let’s Go. That’s a big deal, since certain Pokemon Go events make shiny Pokemon far more common than they ever would be in the main Pokemon games. However, any Pichu, Pikachu, or Raichu with special hats in Go cannot be transferred to Let’s Go.

Worst: Gos Mechanics Dont Really Translate

Lets get one thing straight, Lets Go is not part of the main series. Although it may seem like a remake of Generation I, it is very much its own game. It is not a part of its own series, however. Rather, Lets Go is a natural extension of Go. Well, maybe not as natural as Game Freak was perhaps hoping.

What makes Go so enjoyable? Its pick up and play nature. You can be anywhere, turn it on, play for a few minutes, and feel satisfied. Its core mechanics are all catching based and require simple flicks. That doesnt translate. The longer story doesnt exactly benefit a gameplay style that involved gyroscope aiming from start to finish.

Worst: Starters Cant Evolve

In Generation I, Pikachu could not evolve so long as you were playing Yellow. In their best attempt to match the anime, Game Freak disallowed Pikachu from accepting a Thunder Stone. Naturally, this extends to Lets Go with both Pikachu and Eevee forced into their based forms all game.

This is especially disappointing for Eevee whose entire gimmick revolves around being a Pokémon with many evolutions. Pikachu? Fine, this was expected, but there is no beneficial reason to keep Eevee stuck as an Eevee. It severely diminishes a great deal of the fun of the game.

Can You Breed Pokemon What About Competitive Battles

There is no Pokemon breeding in Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee. Though battles against NPCs and other players follow the same turn-based format as the core Pokemon games, it’s not yet clear how stats work. That means that competitive Pokemon players, who rely on breeding Pokemon for good IVs and training for the correct EVs , may not have as much to work with in the Let’s Go games. That said, Masuda did mention during our Q& A session that the Let’s Go games are like any other main Pokemon RPGs in that they’re both “accessible” but with “depth” for those who want it.

The official competitive Pokemon series, the VGC, is currently played using Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. When asked what game players will be competing in next year, representatives of The Pokemon Company did not comment.

Choose Either Pikachu Or Eevee

Another difference is that you can choose either Pikachu or Eevee in Lets Go by choosing which version of the game you want to purchase. Instead of being stuck with Pikachu as your started, you have the option of traveling with either Pikachu or Eevee, who will remain outside of its Poké Ball throughout your adventure.

Shiny Hunting Spot Them In The Overworld

Shiny Pokémon, or alternately colored Pokémon, have been around since Pokémon Gold and Silver, but its been a little more recently that the fan base really started to understand what made these encounters more likely. In the Let’s Go games, if players catch 25+ of the same Pokémon in a row, their chances of getting shiny Pokémon goes up significantly.

Additionally, this is currently the only game that allows you to tell if a Pokémon is shiny in the overworld. Granted, catching shinies can still take hours, but it’s nice being able to do it a little easier with Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee! Make sure you transfer them into Pokémon Home once you’ve acquired them.

Best: You Can Catch Duplicates Of Your Starter

Best Team for Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee

Thankfully, Game Freak recognized that fans would be none too happy about keeping unevolved Pokémon on them for an entire game so they decided to rectify the situation. For the first time in the series, you can catch duplicates of your starter Pokémon out in the wild, making it possible to evolve them.

Who doesn’t want four Eevees?

While this means you can finally get the Raichu you always wished Ash had, this does mean you can actually take advantage of Eevees many evolutions. This is a pretty smart move, too, as the alternative would be locking Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Flareon from an entire set of games.

Pokmon: Let’s Gotakes Place In The Same Region As Pokmon Red & Blue With The Original 151 Pokmon

“Pokémon: Let’s Go” returns to the Kanto region from the first games in the series, “Pokémon Red & Blue.” This means that the original 151 pokémon will also be making a return, too, along with their Alolan variations from “Pokémon Sun & Moon” and a new legendary Pokémon, Meltan. Players will explore updated 3D versions of the same cities, forests and destinations from “Red & Blue,” and battle against the classic gym leaders like Brock and Misty. The notorious Team Rocket will play the role of villain once more.

Lets Go Eevee: Your Own Pikachu

Just like the other game, you arent unable to find your own Pikachu if you decide to go with Lets Go, Eevee. You wont be able to dress it up or teach it special moves, but just like the original games, Pikachu is available early in the game in Viridian Forest. Much like Eevee, it has a rare appearance rate, but with how large the forest is youre bound to find one soon.

Much like captured Eevees in either game, you can also evolve captured Pikachus into Raichus freely, regardless of which game you’re playing. Your starter Pokémon is the only one you own that must remain in its adorable pre-evolved form.

Use Pokmon To Give You Rides

The bike shop remains in Kanto, but you cant ride a bike. Never fear, though, a much cooler travel option is available. Rideable Pokémon. If you release a Pokémon from its ball that can be ridden, you will automatically hop on its back instead of seeing it trail behind you. There are conventional rideable Pokémon like Rapidash and more humorous options like Onix. The full list of rideable Pokémon:

  • Aerodactyl

Lets Go Pikachu: Exclusive Pokmon

The most common differences in any Pokémon game are the Pokémon themselves, as some species are only available in Lets Go, Pikachu that you cannot find in Lets Go, Eevee, and vice-versa. For Lets Go, Pikachu this includes the Sandshrew, Oddish, Growlithe, Mankey, Grimer, and Scyther families.

If you do wish to truly catch em all, you can always trade with friends to get these. But if any of them are your favorites and you want to include in your team, youll have to make some choices.

‘pokmon: Let’s Go’ Review: It’s Time To Go Back To A Rather Different Kanto

‘Pokémon: Let’s Go’ retains a lot from the classic mainline games in the series.

Back when the Switch was launched last year, it was somewhat obvious that certain studios were taken aback by its massive popularity. So much so that developers like Game Freak realized they had to get in on the action and fast, and lo Pokémon: Lets Go was born.

For those that played Pokémon back during the Game Boy days, then the approach in Lets Go will be very familiar. Thats because Pokémon: Lets Go is based on Pokémon Yellow but by way of the newer mobile phenomenon Pokémon GO.

This means we are back in Kanto where it all began but with a few notable and subsequently major changes to the Pokémon formula.

The main and biggest difference is that while you can battle random Pokémon trainers dotted across the landscape, the wild Pokémon cannot be fought. Whats more, the random encounters are gone too. Instead, you are left with entirely visible and free-roaming Pokémon for you to catch.

The catching part is where Pokémon GO comes in and the throwing of Poké Balls onto Pokémon is often motion based depending on your controls.

You also can connect your Pokémon GO account with Pokémon: Lets Go to exchange Pokémon, so Game Freak isnt missing a trick here to try and bring new people over to the Switch.

The controls are also split across three versions handheld, standalone Joy-Cons or the new Poké Ball Plus controller.

The co-op setup works very nicely.
