You can find the King’s Rock on Island 7. When you battle 2 Pokemon Rangers, the boy having exeggutor and exegute, and the girl having a chansey, plus a crush girl with a hitmontop and two other pokemon. There’s a spot that’s ahrd to reach because you’ll have to use strength and rock smash to reach it, but once you get into it, you’ll find an item, which is King’s Rock. It’s similar to the way you got the fire stone on Mt. Ember where Moltres is.**tep**

How To Get Kings Rock

It should come as little surprise to Pokemon trainers on the prowl for evolution stones, but the Kings Rock evolution stone is found the same way as the rest of them. Unless Niantic updates the game to allow players to obtain a Kings Rock using other methods, the only way to get one at the time of this writing is to get lucky at a PokeStop.

To increase ones odds of finding a Kings Rock, its a good idea to hang out near areas with a high concentration of PokeStops. This may mean traveling to a bigger city, but taking the time to do this will make the search for a Kings Rock go much faster. Not only that, but players can advance their progress in other areas of the game while farming for Kings Rock at PokeStops.

While walking between PokeStops, players can earn XP by catching new Pokemon and hatching eggs. Furthermore, they may acquire one of the other evolution stones in their attempt to get a Kings Rock, like the Up-Grade or the Metal Coat, which could go a long way in filling out the Pokedex. So even though walking around between different PokeStops may seem boring, its actually a great way to advance in Pokemon GO.

For now, there are only two Pokémon that can evolve with Kings Rock: they are Poliwhirl and Slowpoke. For this, you obviously need the evolution stone but also Pokemon candies of the species concerned in order for it to work.

Poliwhirl normally evolves into Poliwrath. However, thanks to the Kings Rock it can evolve into Politoed, a toad in green and yellow colors which is known to invoke rain in combat.

Slowpoke normally evolves into Slowbro. With the Kings Rock this Pokémon will evolve into Slowking, supposed to be the king of all Slowpoke with its seashell crown on the head.

The new events have begun for Summer in Pokémon Go. Niantic has kicked off the Season of Discovery, which means new events are flooding in. The new events bring a bunch of new spawns, as well as Research Tasks. One is the new A Very Slow Discovery, which has its own special Poke. There are of course others, like the Gibble event that ran this week. Anyway, back to the topic of A Very Slow Discovery. The event features Galarian Slowpoke, a Pokémon that originates from the Galar region, featured in Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Players who want to get their hands on the regional variant for the Dex can get it by using a special evolution item. You will need to use an item called the Kings Rock to unlock Slowking, a special variant. This Pokémon will offer some very interesting Water and Psychic moves. Heres how to get it. To get the item, it comes as a Pokéstop reward. You need to head out and spin Pokéstop dials. When you do, you will sometimes get both items and Research Tasks as a result. Theres no guarantee that you get a Kings Rock as a reward but practice some patience.

How To Use The King’s Rock In Pokemon Go

Now here’s where the choices come in. King’s Rock can be used in two different ways, which means you might already have the candies you need for at least one Pokemon evolution.

Kings’ Rock can not only evolve Poliwhirl into the froglike Politoed, it also turns Slowpoke into Slow King. As ever you’re going to need serious candies for both Pokemon.

The Metal Coat can be used on two different Pokemon too, and as you’d expect, they both turn into Steel types. If you evolve Scyther, you can obtain the snappy Scizor, while Onix the rock snake will turn into Steelix.

King’s Rock Pokemon Go

So, you’re wanting to know what a King’s Rock is good for. Lucky for you, we’ve got the goss. You might remember it from some of the mainline games, though it serves a slightly different purpose in Pokemon GO. The King’s Rock would occasionally causing opponents to flinch in battle when faced with the Pokemon holding it, but that particular perk doesn’t apply here. In Pokemon GO, it’s strictly for evolution use only, though that in itself isn’t really anything new. If you have the King’s Rock, you will be able to use it to evolve the following Pokemon:

  • Poliwhirl into Politoed
  • Slowpoke into Slowking

The key to evolving Poliwhirl and Slowpoke in Pokemon GO is to use the King’s Rock on either of them, and also some candy, just as you normally would when trying to evolve any other Pokemon. To evolve a Poliwhirl, you’re going to need 100 Poliwag candy. To evolve a Slowpoke, you’re going to need 50 Slowpoke candy. As we’ve mentioned previously, it really isn’t all that difficult. The hardest part is probably getting your actual hands on a King’s Rock.

To get a King’s Rock in-game when it comes to Pokemon GO, you’re going to have to be at least Level 10. You’ll get it from spinning PokeStops and taking on Gyms, but these are pretty hard to come by. Just like most evolutionary or use items in Pokemon GO, a King’s Rock is considered rare, so don’t get too discouraged if it takes you time to find one. You just need to have patience.

Pokemon Go: How To Get And Use The Kings Rock Item

Trainers looking to get Slowking or Politoed in Pokemon GO wont be able to without a Kings Rock.

This item was introduced in Generation II. It was found on the bottom floor of, appropriately, the Slowpoke Well. In the main series games, Slowpoke and Poliwhirl needed to be traded with the Kings Rock to evolve. Thankfully, this mechanic isnt in Pokemon GO. The tradeoff, though, isthis item is incredibly difficult to find.

What Do Evolution Items Do In Pokemon Go

King

If you’ve spun a Pokestop for the seventh day in a row or finished your weekly research breakthrough task and found a brand new shiny thing you’ve never seen before, you can say hello to your first Pokemon Go evolution item. You might even have a few you don’t know you have, so pop into your items list and have a quick scroll.

Evolution items were introduced with the Gen 2 update all the way back in 2017 and mean a whole stack of new ‘mon via evolution if you hoard your candy just right. So far, we’ve only got one fourth generation item, the Sinnoh Stone, but you’re going to need it for a stack of 4th generation Pokemon evolutions. More on that below but the current evolution items are as follows:

  • Dragon Scale
  • Mossy Lure
  • Glacial Lure

Each one can be used to evolve one of your existing Pokemon into a new evolution. Below are each of the ways you can use evolution items.

Now, I don’t want to sound like a nagging Poke-parent – ironic given how lax parents are in the main games – but it’s time to up your game and start playing Pokemon Go every day. Yep, on your feet soldier. If you aren’t already, this small step will guarantee you a Pokemon Go evolution item every seven days from your seven day Pokestop streak and increase your odds of finding a Sinnoh Stone.

Regular special items such as Up-Grades and King’s Rocks sometimes even drop from regular Poke Stops but making sure to spin a Poke Stop every day and working towards your streak will ensure you get at least one every week. Bear in mind though that it’s impossible to predict what you’ll get so you might have to see a few Metal Coats before you find the Sun Stone you want.

The Sinnoh Stone, introduced with Gen 4, is a significantly trickier find but not impossible. There are two main ways to find a Sinnoh Stone. The first is to complete your seven day research breakthrough tasks. This essentially means earning one stamp each day until you earn a legendary Pokemon encounter. If you’re lucky, at the same time, you’ll earn a Sinnoh Stone but they are not guaranteed. The second way to find one is to take part in trainer battles via PvP. Sinnoh Stones have been known to drop for both winners and losers. Good luck!

Pokemon Go: How To Get King’s Rock

“Just can’t wait to be king”

Pokemon GO’s evolution can be as simple as using the required amount of candy, but often rarer evolutions will require an evolution item.

These are consumables that can allow you to not only fill out your Pokedex but also unlock some impressively powerful creatures.

One such item, the King’s Rock, can evolve Poliwhirl into Politoed or Slowbro into Slowking, and others too, so it’s worth grabbing one.

Here’s how to do just that.

Who Can Evolve With The King’s Rock

Unlike the Up-Grade evolution stone, there are two different Pokemon that can evolve with King’s Rock, and both of them are water-type Pokemon – Slowpoke and Poliwhirl. Out of the two Pokemon that can evolve with King’s Rock, the easiest one is Slowpoke, so players may want to focus on evolving it first.

After acquiring the King’s Rock, the next step to evolving Slowpoke into Slowking is amassing 50 Slowpoke candies. Players can earn Slowpoke candies in a variety of ways. Typically, they will get the most candy from hatching a Slowpoke from an egg, but that comes down to chance. They will also earn three Slowpoke candies every time a Slowpoke or Slowbro is caught, and an additional one for transferring duplicate Slowpokes and Slowbros to the professor. Yet another way to earn extra Slowpoke candy is by assigning it as a buddy Pokemon and walking around.

For those looking to catch Slowpoke/Slowbro, and Poliwag/Poliwhirl for that matter, the best place to look is near a body of water. As can be expected, water-type Pokemon tend to spawn near public lakes and ponds, so if the weather permits, go for a stroll and start collecting as many of these Pokemon as possible.

With enough persistence, players will earn enough candy and King’s Rock evolution stones to evolve Slowpoke into Slowking and Poliwhirl into Politoed. After adding these two rare water-type Pokemon to their roster, players will be well on their way to catching all the Pokemon currently available in Pokemon GO.
